Introduction There have to be at least a dozen pool billiards/snooker games on Steam. Some cost more than others and some prefer the “free to play” method. Most are overpriced given the limited scope of the gameplay. I know it’s addictive and I had my fair share of real life matches against friends and colleagues but 3D Pool seems like a perfect, affordable compromise between a PC game and the real thing. Developed by Z-Software and published by Libredia, the title I’m writing about today is…

3D Pool on the Atari ST was a little technical marvel. Released in 1989, it brought a fully 3D perspective to the familiar game of billiards, with balls rolling convincingly across the table. No fancy graphics hardware, just clever programming and an 8 MHz Motorola 68000 doing the hard work.

#LogLoads64 American 3D Pool I just played a frame of this and it is ABSOLUTELY SUPERB! If you are looking for a decent pool / snooker (only billiards!) game on the #C64 then this is it. What a charming little game. It has a load of Trick Shots to do too. I played this to death as a kid. YES!

first problem is: you can only position the cue stick with the arrow keys, making it impossible to shoot where you want to. tapping the arrow keys only gives you certain pre arranged clicks spots . the cue stick should be moved by the mouse not the arrow keys! then you can position it exactly where you want it. I had a much better game but lost it and it is no longer made, unfortunately. it was called 3D pool too. VERY FRUSTRATING!

This game is horrible. I never published a game review before, but this game forces me to do so. First of all, the physics of the balls is wrong. Even on a normal pool table driving a ball along the cushion into a corner pocket is not possible. Try it and you know what I mean. This is perfectly possible on a real pool table. Then it has bad, non-realistic graphics. The field of depth creating a totally blurry background looks completely wrong. The balls cast a drop shadow from a light source…

This. Game. Is. Terrible. The graphics are fine, though the lighting has a little to be desired. Whatever. The issue I take with the game are as follows: 1) You CAN aim with the mouse, but it's not clearly laid out how you should be doing it. 2) There's a HUGE LACK of options for pool. (You can't do masse shots, the physics are off, you can't raise the butt of your cue stick, there's no 'free play', there's no option to turn off the music and sound effects separately, you can't customize…

This game has good graphics. I've played it for 24 hours. It has a few unfortunate quirks. Only "you" can break unless you purposely foul. In snooker there is no penalty for scratching. Example: If you scratch off a cherry you should get a 4 point substraction from your score. You don't in this game. If you are playing a three or five game match in snooker on every game after the first one when you pocket a color ball it stays off the table and not replaced on it's spot. In this…

This is a very good pool game with good physics. You can do Soloplay, multiplayerplay or training. You can choose between 4 tables, 4 variations of balls and 3 queue. As I can say the graphics are good and the game runs without slow downs. The Ki is good and challenging but fair, even the harder ones makes sometimes one or two mistakes.

They had this in Seattle! We showed L4d there and they had no security and our booth was in the “stadium” so guess who got to hang out and watch all the events? The big game back in 2007 or 8? 3D Pool… it was hell.

It's pool, what should I know? The game is pool, in the most basic sense of the word. Sound is there, although I wouldn't say the balls have any real difference in sound which is a shame because different velocities should sound different. The four game modes are 8 ball, 9 ball, 10 ball and snooker and they're fine, but I would have liked the ability to customize my game with things like calling my shots or using last pocket. The graphics are as basic as the rest of the game. Shadows are…

This game is an arcade type game. And can be fun to play. Unfortunately it has some bugs. One is when you play snooker, the coloured balls are sometimes not replaced at all when there are still reds on the table. And that of course spoils the game. Another issue is with the lighting, with some dark coloured pool balls being indistinguishable from one another in some circumstances. This leads to mistakes and spoils the game also. If it were not for these bugs and issues I would have given it a…

Quite fun but the Snooker mode is bad. You have to sink all the balls even if your opponent cannot get more points anymore. You also cannot let the opponent try again if they make a mistake or "snooker" them. I am also missing a training mode where you don't just play against yourself but have tips and challenges to complete to improve aim, setting up follow up shots and use of spin.

The biggest problem with 3D Pool is that there is practically nobody left to play it with. The game supports multiplayer and split-screen, but with an all-time Steam peak of only 7 players, the online side is effectively dead. Even as a single-player pool game, it feels rather rough, with players complaining about bugs, missing instructions and an unpolished presentation. There are also no Steam achievements or Trading Cards, despite obvious opportunities around winning games, mastering the…

31 More Days of Sports - Video Game Edition Day 20 3D Pool on the Amiga (1989) The game that made Jimmy White’s Snooker possible, but at least this one was the first to make a pool video game with a realistic, rather than an overhead viewpoint. Impressive, but lacks long term gameplay.

3D Pool is a straightforward digital interpretation of cue sports that prioritizes accessibility and ease of play over cutting-edge simulation or spectacle. Developed by Z-Software GmbH and published by familyplay, the game positions itself as a no-nonsense pool experience aimed at casual players, families, and anyone looking for a relaxed way to enjoy billiards on PC. Rather than competing with highly technical simulators, it focuses on delivering familiar rule sets, intuitive controls, and…

PURE POOL PRO Just your standard 3D Pool game. Nothing special here. As a kid, I used to play Jeanette Lee's Virtual Pool 3, and the controls in this one actually remind me of playing that. Still prefer VRChat billiards, but worth a look nonetheless. store.steampowered.com/app/3456930/...

    9. Sharkey's 3D Pool (PC 1990) My memories of this are pretty hazy, but I distinctly remember the sounds and graphics. It's amazing this game works as well as it does. Later in life people looked at me weird when I suggested we play '9 ball' but to this day I prefer it. Gotta love those portraits.

On first glance this game may appear to be nothing but the simplest of activities, but i can assure you it is much more then that. With a input scheme that could put tears on the face of God and connectivity that could solve Polio it is well definitely a game that will change your view of others
