Survivors have to work closely together and build in the same spot or they will be overwhelmed quickly. There are a lot of unlocks and weapons/perks so you can switch up your play style. It helps to have played 7 Days to Die before as it makes everything much more intuitive, but even if you haven't I think you will figure everything out in the first couple of matches.
