Of course, this is a whole new thing, so I need to work out how to add a whole new type of series. Haven't done this for a while!

Boy I'm not used to long-form actual play 2. PC dying in a CR mini-series works, but in a campaign? 3. Countdowns are great 4. I love small parties

But maybe we can simulate that experience for you in a grim Soulsborn inspired game of Daggeheart Age of Umbra? Like the ones the guys on that show are playing?

neutral · AI labelView post →Honestly, though grim, the Age of Umbra short series does a solid job of it. Likewise, Get your Sheet Together covers the basics really well. I'm putting together my own 101 to kick off next month's streams, so if ever you want to talk shop, just let me know!

neutral · AI labelView post →As someone who really enjoys Daggerheart and was only just getting back into Critical Role because of the Age of Umbra series... this is just sad lmao They have it, a whole system made for dramatic twists, something fresh and new and they go BACK to DnD... i wonder if it's contractual obligation lol
negative · AI labelView post →A bit of a different post - I'm a little nervous to show my art - I've been watching the new Daggerheart series - Age of Umbra on Critical roll - and was inspired to draw this lovely lady 😊 - She's a fungril ranger ( she doesn't have a name yet tho) #Krita #Daggerheart #Criticalrollart #digitalart
neutral · AI labelView post →If you haven't checked out @criticalrole.bsky.social's new "Age of Umbra" series, I highly recommend it. I've been a CR fan since Uni, and I know a lot of people get intimidated by their huge catalog of content. AoU is only going to be 8 episodes, so it's a great time to give it a shot :)
positive · AI labelView post →One thing I can say without Spoiler tags is that #Thresher putting the rules and traits on-screen as they're encountered/used is very nice for following along and I hope future #CriticaRole shows (like @matthewmercer.bsky.social's Age Of Umbra #Daggerheart series) will consider doing likewise.

Mercer will DM, and he'll run it for Laura Bailey and familiar faces Jennifer English, Abubakar Salim, Vico Ortiz, and Zachery Renauldo www.daggerheart.com/umbra/
neutral · AI labelView post →Now it's easy for them to learn, easy to get a hold of core rule books for free, and CR can still play Daggarheart in one shots and short series like Age of Umbra. Its a new system, and it still needs to grow. It will grow better if it's not crammed down everyone's throats.
neutral · AI labelView post →Not started campaign 3 yet as I usually like to take a break between going straight into the next.. Out of curiosity I started watching the Age of Umbra mini-series and I'm already super invested! #AgeofUmbra #CriticalRole #DaggerHeart
positive · AI labelView post →Critical Role's newest short series, Age of Umbra, is running it, and the character creation (for 4 players) is only an hour and a half or so. I think it nicely limits/focuses character spell availability by class, and spreads variety around the party by card scarcity.

Age of Umbra: Sallowlands, set in a dark and foreboding fantasy world, has it’s debut on 9th July on Beacon, Twitch and YouTube. www.tabletopsentinel.com/news/fantasy...
neutral · AI labelView post →Yeah I second Xero that CR's on boarding shorts and the Age of Umbra do actually show off the system more than say DnD because the entire cast is still learning it (including Matt) So they do focus more on play as learning/explaining.
positive · AI labelView post →Though I am sure I will eventually tune in. I've been play'n D&D for over 43 years now. I have Zero interest in a liveplay show using it. When it should of been Daggerheart. That, I want to watch. Age of Umbra was the perfect example of a great use of the system. This is just such a mega let down.
negative · AI labelView post →Watching it right now - Age of Umbra has been different, but good, so far. I prefer the longer lines that they can draw in the longer campaigns, but they show clearly why they have such a huge following. Pure quality.

neutral · AI labelView post →I feel like Age of Umbra is a poor fit for a full season's campaign due to its lethality. I am glad that they have a follow-up Age of Umbra series coming up though. I think once they figure out a complete campaign frame for Exandria, we will see it. Already in motion for live shows...
neutral · AI labelView post →They are supporting it. Their Age of Umbra Daggerheart show, with Mercer as GM and the main cast as players, will be continuing.
neutral · AI labelView post →I used to do fanart during s2. It got featured on the show and on wiki page but I haven't done anything since since s3 hasn't really gripped me. Wanted to do something for the Age of Umbra but lacked time. Maybe c4 will change that, especially with the amount of cast.
