What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 214 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Mostly Positive (1,081 of 1,523 positive).
Many players praise the game's immersive atmosphere and authentic Aliens universe feel. [1][2][3] Some reviewers note performance issues and VR jankiness, especially on lower-end PCs. [4][5][6] A few players feel the game leans too much into action rather than horror. [7][8]

If you like the Aliens universe and you have VR, you might as well get this! Overall you will probably have a good time! It "feels" like you're in the Aliens universe, and there's a lot the game does right. That said: It is only half a game, yet it is priced as if it is a full game. There is a fair amount of VR jankiness, and it feels like they either skipped play-testing and bug-testing, or they did all their …

This is a very good game. The hate it gets is unfair. This is like the second movie Aliens: You are a bad ass and came here to kill these aliens. But for some reason people wanted a game based in the first movie, like Alien Isolation, and be scared all the time. This is not that kind of game. This is a game to kill aliens. If you want to run scared from them, then play Alien Isolation, which is very good too! but …

Some things in life are insane and inexplicable. Like why toast always falls on the buttered side, why half of Americans voted for a person who was obviously a dangerous, corrupt con-man, who almost caused an insurrection and is a sadistic p-e-d-o for president, and why this game has only "Mixed" ratings on Steam. This game has great VR controls, is super immersive, and nails the Aliens vibes. It's exactly what I …

Let me put this bluntly: YOU NEED A GOOD PC TO RUN THIS GAME. For the first little while of playing this game, my framerate was choppy and horrible basically the whole time and it made it basically impossible to fight back or do much of anything smoothly. However, running it DIRECTLY through oculus link instead of booting it through steamvr, and running it on the minimum settings, I finally got it working at a …

very good game. I am seriously impressed with this game. The fear and terror it gives in first person, as a huge alien fan of the series they captured the aliens well how they move, crawl, attack. It seems like there is some AI at work to change there movements to be unpredictable. Guns and weapons work great. I will admit its a little tricky in VR to get an item off your shoulder but nothing too hard to master. The …

Players who liked Alien: Rogue Incursion VR talk about immersive atmosphere and authentic Aliens universe; those who didn't talk about performance issues and stuttering on some systems. Which matters more to you?
Critics, per Wikipedia
Alien: Rogue Incursion received "generally favorable" reviews according to Metacritic. Shaun Cichacki of Vice called it "a stellar addition" to the Alien franchise and "one of the best VR games I've played in a while." Ossi Mykkänen of Gamereactor wrote that it "isn't just a great VR game; it's one of the best Alien gaming experiences. The world is clearly built with love for Alien mythology". Elijah Gonzalez, writing for Paste, stated that the game begins strong but "is eventually let down by repetition, technical issues, and motion sickness-inducing movement that left me much more nauseous than its body horror did." Don Hopper of UploadVR called it a "commendable yet flawed entry" in the…

Once you're done with that, click link under settings on your actual quest and connect it to you're computer and launch the game from there. A lot of people are trashing the game and other than the annoying openXR thing, the game isn't any more unstable than any other VR game nor is it littered with issues like some may suggest. The biggest issue I could find in the…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played through the Derelikt demo - it's a game that is both amazingly committed to the PSX bit and also wears its influences on its sleeve (and that's not necessarily a bad thing). Lots of Doom 3, PSX Alien Resurrection, Half-Life, and Resident Evil here, and that's just the games its drawing from.
positive · AI labelView post →I wanted to love this game. The atmosphere is fantastic. The environments look great, the audio is excellent, and it absolutely captures the feeling of exploring a secret Weyland-Yutani research facility on an alien planet. Everything about the presentation screams Alien. Then you have to interact with it. Alien: Rogue Incursion is one of the most frustrating VR games I have played, not because of difficulty, but because it consistently fights the player. It gets so many of the fundamentals…

neutral · AI labelView post →Yes, I called the new ALIEN RPG cinematic 'Operation Leading Edge' as a homage to publishers of the original ALIENS RPG, Leading Edge Games. I got it for 13,64 euro and while I might recommend it at that price, I cant recommend it for any more than that. You play as this marine who is sent to this planet to expose some evil corporate black site where they ran illegal experiments or something like that. It goes slightly wrong though and that is where the game sets off. So, the…

positive · AI labelView post →Aliens: Dark Descent is another I'm very frequently recommending, but you'll know why if you play it, it's one of the most tense, anxiety inducing games I've ever had the joy to experience. Very much does for Aliens what Alien Isolation did for Alien.
neutral · AI labelView post →We all know that we expected an Alien isolation feel to this game. The game itself is really good and Im always up to playing anything related to the alien franchise. But this game I have troubled feelings for. Performance isnt horrible but is not stable even with higher end specs which is not acceptible, even more so for VR because chunky performance means Motion sickness. Simply using game mechanics cause horrible stutters and frame drops. The game itself does look really good and sets…

neutral · AI labelView post →I want to say thanks to the developers that made this game. Its always been my dream to experience my favourite franchise in VR. Game ran really well on my 5090. The best fix for performance is turning off shadows. You wont even notice they are off. Use TAA and the rest you can set to max settings. My 5090 ran this at 90 fps easily. Used the quest 2 completly maxed out. I think the game is very well optimized as long as you turn off shadows. Massive difference like 30% gain. Awesome game loved…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →should be scary. in the first 20 minutes (or the first 5 if you dont count the intro cutscene and ship segment.) a xenomorph just shows up. I killed it in about 2 seconds. that's when I realized this is essentially the arcade shoot-em-up where you sit in a cramped booth that hurts your ass while the gun rattles itself apart with "recoil". the gameplay is just mowing down things with the pulse rifle they give you immediately. I have no clue why alien games try to be action when the franchise is…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's jankier than fan-made conversions of flatscreen games. It's particularly infuriating how much your "VR body" gets in the way of gameplay. Your virtual elbow that does not actually line up with your real elbow flings the crate you are trying to search across the room. Your virtual foot that is a full meter in front of your real foot kicks the ammo you are trying to pick up. The aliens are not believable xenomorphs in any way. They pop up and screech and wait for a full second for you to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've been playing games in th Alien franchise since that someone made a Pac-man ripoff of it on the Atari 2600. There have been highs (Isolation, Fireteam Elite - and I even liked the C64 Electric Dreams version), and lows (again, Pac-man? WTF) This is hands down my favorite *experiene*. As an FPS game, it's ... average. As an *experience* in the Xenomorph universe, it's incredible. Sure, a lot of it is traditional VR mechanical gimmicks - but look past that, and you're really getting to…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TL;DR : This game is good and the atmosphere is perfect but the wave of xenos are are predictable bullet sponges. There's no hiding or need to and personally, I feel an alien title like this needs more Alien Isolation and less run and gun. Slight/significant changes to the Alien's behavior is all this needs to be a top seller. Worth It on Sale, But Flawed at the Core It's a good game and definitely worth the price if you catch it on a sale. I actually refunded this product initially,…

Up there in the VR top three of HL: Alyx, Saints & Sinners, and, now, Rogue Incursion. The banter between the player's character and the NPC buddy was good. The aesthetics, sounds and behavior of the aliens was authentic to the best of the Aliens movies. The VR elements and the hand held UI / Map were clever. Unlike Alien Isolation, Rogue Incursion did not…
