Seems like a fun game and I'm always up for a good RTS but it has a lot of annoying problems that need to be dealt with 1. When your logistics is approx 90% full, your AI says "we need more logistics" every 30 seconds and it gets annoying real fast. Change it to say this if trying to create more units when you don't have enough logistics to make more. People hated Navi from Ocarina of Time for less 2. The combat AI …

First off, I have played the original Total Annihilation back then since 97/98 or so and many years after that due to the excellent mod support and active modding community. I played Supreme Commander, which was quite nice, and also Supreme Commander 2 which was not very nice. Now, I really wanted to like this game but I can't. I does not capture the spirit of TA or SC1, merely selecting units is already a pain, especially if tightly packed, trying to click a turret when an engineer is in…

Great game, my dad played it alot and he dragged me into it, I still remember starting out and spamming dreadnoughts with no resources to speak of, our main strategy was varied "Defend and build up" and "RUSH THEM WITH CRUISERS!!" very fun, still playing it to this day, I really hope this game can one day live again. Anyway I'm gonna go kill 6 Insane AI (Wish me luck ;-;)

A Breath of Fresh Air in the RTS Genre Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation is a pleasant surprise in today's gaming landscape. For the past decade or so, the real-time strategy (RTS) genre has largely focused on speed and aggression. Developers have made games smaller, faster, and with an emphasis on offensive play at the expense of defensive strategies. This shift makes sense in a competitive e-sports and streaming context, where players who "turtle" (play defensively) are often seen as less…

I was lucky enough to get this game for free to test the campaigns before deciding whether to purchase the DLC. Honestly, I have to say the game is very disappointing. Even after all these years, it is still riddled with bugs. Units regularly get stuck on certain terrain, and pathfinding is a mess—stupid units move on their own without my knowledge, get killed off by the AI, and do not even defend themselves when attacked. I also don't understand why the offensive abilities are so restrictive.…

I've had quite some fun with this. The only thing is this game is a time bog. To gain resources you need to capture map points and build extraction stuff on it and also defend it, or you lose it. There is as far as I could see no rush tactic possible for you'd have to cross the map over those mappoints, which are hostile if not taken over, even if you opponent(s) didn't take it yet. It makes for a slow game, and if you don't keep an eye on the main cap points (middle-top of screen marked your…

the system is more or less the perfection of an RTS concept. i've only played the first segment so far, but there are some critical issues with the controls that i hope have been sorted out in later versions (adding units/structures to control groups, for instance). i'm also a bit worried the various factions all have too-similar units, but i've only played the first campaign so far. still, for a former competitive sc2 player, this is both a breath of fresh air and a true innovation. kudos!

It's a bit of a gem in the rough, but some really cool concepts here such as upgrading. RTS are a bit of a dying breed and always good to see a developer still updating a game that is about 10 years old at this point. Not everything has to be perfect and I had some fun playing it for a few hours and plan to a bit more in the future.

I tried to like it but I just don't. You create armies, which are groups of units, that you control as one to avoid micromanaging only to end up micromanaging them anyway. The balance doesn't seems good and humans have better cruisers. If you don't rush, you can turtle but it makes the game overall harder. Campaign was fine, but I just cannot get myself to play more. Cannot recommend.

Very shallow RTS with really interesting mechanics I would like to see elsewhere. Not many unit variety or interesting/unique buildings. Uber units are there but they lack any unique traits or features other than a larger health pool and damage. Combat AI can be frustrating and damage to units can sometimes feel strange. I love it! It's like a better version of Supreme Commander games, where they fixed the whole aspect of it. I also am so glad there's no "Commander" building everything by himself. I love the giant spaceships, there should be even bigger ones. The only thing I would like to see in the game is perhaps an alien faction + 1-2 more factions. I love the idea of how you control nodes, connect them to each other, it is so simplified. They perfected the resource gathering strategy in my opinion. Looking…

It's as close to a Supreme Commander that you can find from the past decade. That said, it tries it's best to not commit to being a successor by implementing a control point mechanic for resources. Overall, it's a fun skirmisher, but it lacks any ability to turtle on purpose (I like to turtle and break into shells!) Changes I would want: 1) faster juggernauts 2) better army pathing and attack logic (currently feels like units are pushed by a tide and leave range constantly) 3) allow us…

Wow, this game is bad in every aspect: the UI, balance, unit behaviour, design choices, scope, performance and looks. Even at a heavy discount, I regret buying it. If you're looking for a game in which units are resistant to your commands, you've found it. Also good luck on clicking on the desired enemy building to attack it, the command will just register to something else in the neighbourhood most of the time. Interesting concepts but not executed well. Semi Rock/Paper/Scissor sytem but more like Rock>Paper>Scissor, where stronger units are just so Strong they make smaller units obsolete. Army system is nice where you can just produce in the army and it automatically produces in an idle facility and adds later on to the army. Big problem is that every unit icon looks the same. It's just a blue blob in slightly different forms. Strategy in this game is too shallow imo.

This game fundamentally is good, however with the single player being a relatively heavy focus in this game its severally lacking in this department. The story and dialogue are pretty bad only being held up by gameplay but this only lasts so long. A barely alright game that made me constantly go, "When does this game get fun?" Multiple missions put you in scenarios where unless you get the perfect build order for that mission, you will not succeed. The enemies on even normal will have twice as many units as you with in seconds and will rebuild faster than you can destroy their units. I simply can't recommend this game over the many other RTS I've played because of how many unfair and nearly unwinnable situations the game will put you in.

This is a direct clone to games like Supreme Commander or Planetery Annihilation. But a worse one. The visuals are way less clear (a huge no-go for a game like this) and the controls are clunky. It adds some additional layer by introducing a ressource that you use for upgrades, increasing your army size and orbital abilities. This might be interesting, if you had a polished game otherwise. But here it is just another layer on top of already cluttered visuals and gameplay. It also has a…

It's a below average Supreme Commander clone, with none of the charm of the Supreme Commander games. Didn't bother finishing the Genesis campaign, got bored and ended the game early. The story took itself far too seriously and the gameplay was worse than a game that came out nearly 25 years ago. Not recommended. As an example, the main defensive building for each faction "pulses" either shield repair or structure repair in an aura. I presume this was in response to the common complaints…

Great game with good balance. The graphics on the ultra setting I'm getting greater than 35fps. Its just that when it comes to the skirmish the player that has the most quanta and aggressively expands wins with the most upgrades. Does not matter the strength of the AI, the ai does not build quanta farms like I do.

Great game, even after 864 hours. To the developers: Bro, you better fix the saving game issues and the game crashes, or i wont be buying the next edition AS 2. Only one Ai and me on the map and the game still crashes. At least you can fix the in game save. i'm not the only one, go look online and read, look and learn. I can run all AAA games on my PC, why does the game crash almost every other game paly????

Lots of RTS fun. The main story campaigns are a little all over the place from exceptionally easy to demonic brutality, sometimes ramping up suddenly with much warning. But in a way that's what makes this title fun. The AI isn't a moron, but to help you get better you can play skirmish matches that allow you set the AI's intelligence / aggressiveness level which can help you practice and learn. For me the skirmish feature is the best part since I can play matches with different conditions…

When is there ever a significant update for this game? Never . It's long overdue for a skirmish/map update. Not many people playing this outside of a few and those that use it to benchmark on occasion. These guys still have not figured out the crashing at random issue for the past few years. Shame this has the potential to be much better

Excellent game, one of the best RTS games out there with the potential for enormous armies. Still coming back to it regularly after so many years. Superb.

A good strategy game. If you anyone liked playing C&C games, then you'll like this one as well. I like playing the 'Skirmishes' mode.

Doesn't stand up to modern Strategy Games, but I guess that's why they are releasing Ashes 2. Fun little time-killer.
