I want to start by mentioning that I loved Battlestations and still do, however it did not age well, I played it in the 360 which was a mostly smooth experience, but same cannot be said for this. Its not really the fault of the devs, its just an old game, so you need to do many work arounds to get the game running the way you want it, controls are weird, and to get the controls working on a controller its a pain, …

As a huge Naval Autist I find that I love this game, but... I do tweak out at some of the Historical inaccuracy >Some of the Ship classes are wrong >Shokaku and Zuikaku are both Shokaku Class Carriers not Soryu Class carriers >USS Pennsylvania is a Pennsylvania class battleship not a New York Class battleship >HMS Warspite is a Queen Elizabeth II class battleship not a King George V class battleship >Zuhio is a …

Battlestations: Midway by Eidos Interactive and Square Enix is a distinctive World War II title that blends real-time strategy with direct action control, creating a hybrid experience that still feels unusual even years after its release. Rather than choosing between commanding from a distance or engaging on the front lines, the game allows you to do both at any moment. You can oversee an entire fleet from a …

PSA: I believe that due to the GameSpy shutdown the online doesn't work anymore so please don't buy this game if that's all you're interested in! This game is definitely one that looks dated, but honestly it's still fun and you don't have to deal with all the Games for Windows Live nonsense that you do with Battlestations: Pacific. The game has great controller support and lets you command a number of sea and air …

Hidden gem for sure. Has a fantastic gameplay loop of arcade sim + RTS where you can take control of units and turn the tide of battle flying planes, commanding destroyers and carriers. Main campaign (approx 6hours, well paced), loosely depicts the events leading up to the Battle of Midway, cutsceners are a product their time, but overall its a lot of fun. Runs well on Win11 and is stable. I think I would have …

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was very good, and i wish that they would focus on making a new game in that same setting, with new missions and better grafics
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →we need battlestaions pacific on here on steam
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An all time classic, we need a battle stations revival
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its a game that was originally playable on Xbox 360, i shouldn't need to spend half an hour redoing the entire control scheme to get it to work properly on an Xbox 360 controller.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good memories from the ole 360 days
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm reminded again of my dream game, a large-scale strategy game with shades of Battlestations: Pacific, in which you play as a commander inside the Hollow Earth, able to swap to any unit at any time - in the air, on the ground. A combat flight sim/shooter/mech piloting/RTS game.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Whoever ported this to steam really screwed up, because a large amount of this game is setting up tactics and letting it auto fight some battles, but the auto targeting for ships and planes is so bad, that you might as well not even bother. you have to manually target each enemy yourself, and there are just way too many enemies for that
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loved to play this game 14 years ago, it may have been the cause that I joined the Navy and had a few fantastic years at sea. Now I play it together with my son, he love's it too. Who knows what it will bring him one day... :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you were like me and got this game on the Xbox 360 for free then I have sad news for you. Ain't the same experience as it was back then. Multiplayer support is gone and the singleplayer is okay. Story sorta follows the U.S. involvement in World War 2 but there are some deviations. Gameplay revolves around managing ships, aircraft, and submarines. Ships have the most focus and they do allow for a few fun moments. Piloting an aircraft takes time to learn properly and it is best to alter the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've always wanted to make this game: A hybrid shooter/flight combat game/RTS in the manner of Battlestations: Pacific that takes place within the hollow Earth. Swapping between commanding units and piloting your own in a story that combines every silly alien conspiracy into a self-serious melange.
neutral · AI labelView post →Amazing and still works with LAN for PCs, make sure to enable windows feature "Legacy" and "Direct Play" option so LAN will still work. GameRanger is good if you want to play online still even with Gamespy Arcade being non existent anymore.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I remember kid me being ass at this game even on Rookie difficulty; Feels good to finally beat this amazing game years later.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A game I really, really want to like. Unfortunately, I cannot. The gameplay is kind of boring and repetitive, not to mention - slow. Perhaps this might be a poor judgement in the modern climate where everything, even video games have to throw more visual/mental stimulants at you, but the point stands. You don't feel like you're in a battle or a mission, which is sad, considering a battle is in the name!! The controls are also terrible. The default settings cause your mouse movements to…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The play God Bless the USA when you complete Battlestations at the end of Navy bootcamp. There's a projector and slideshow while everyone is standing in formation, receiving their "Navy" ballcap, officially becoming a sailor. Looking back... Yeah, it was cringe af.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very good games, one of the classics from back in the day. A lot of variaty in gameplay
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's an older game that made up my childhood and it's still a solid game. The reason why I give it a down vote is for no controller support. I played this game on my Xbox 360 with a controller, why can't I on Steam?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Battle stations: Midway A true classic It must have been mid-2005 when I first played Battle stations: Midway on the Xbox 360. I brought the game home without knowing anything about it from a Game Stop in Washington D.C. I was an active duty Sailor when I started playing this game, and when I brought it home I figured I would have the advantage because I was quite literally in the Navy. This version of Battle-stations: Midway is just the single player version of the game, which is very fun…

positive · AI labelView post →Don’t get me started on the morbid inflation of recent board game boxed sets volume, either. (Compare, f’rex, the original editions of Merchant of Venus and/ or Battlestations.)
neutral · AI labelView post →I like the idea of the game: massive air and sea battles in the WWII Pacific Theater. The battles are very cool, and it's nice that each time you play as a different type of ship or plane. Unfortunately, the lack of a tutorial made it very unclear how to use some of the weapons, and very vague objectives like "Get revenge for Pearl Harbor" make you wonder what exactly you're supposed to do.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →perfect and nastalgic as a 18 year old that played on the 360 for year s
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game kept crashing towards the last part of the campaign...I cannot recommend this game until this issue is fixed, very unfortunate.

neutral · AI labelView post →Battlestations. It's basically a fighting game disguised as a naval game. It's pretty fun.
positive · AI labelView post →A great little WW2 game that covers much of the Pacific theater with lots of history thrown in! The graffix are a bit dated but they are still absolutely playable and still quite beautiful in their own right, and I strongly believe that these games deserve to be preserved for posterity so future generations can experience the birth pains of games and thier development in the 80s 90s 2000s and 2010s and now 2020s. A very good game and a great little representation of just another aspect of WW2!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game, played exactly as I remember it when it came out. If you are into ww2 stuff, especially the naval warfare during the first half of the war in the Pacific you will like this game. You get to command ships and planes from both sides, either in the main story or in challenges. Only downside, it is a bit short,
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mess of a game. The tutorial explains barely anything, it even softlocks itself, so you can't complete the it. Audio is all over the place, sometimes it's muffled so you can't hear anything despite putting it to the highest option, other times it's blowing your ear drums out, and other times the audio just isn't there. This is especially true for the cutscenes that 9 out of 10 times are just silent and awkward. sound effects in general is "meh" and lacks any punch behind…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Still a GREAT game.... RTS/Action/Sim, not even sure what to call it. Played it on Xbox 360 extensively, missed it, so looked it up here. Runs better than ever, max out the graphics and I think they still look nice. But the gameplay, is still to this day (other than Battlestations Pacific which is harder to get running), unlike really anything else I've ever found. This game simply installs and runs great on W10, max settings. Highly recommend!

neutral · AI labelView post →If I'd bought this full price it'd have cost me £4.99 sterling and it'd still be fairly good value. I bought it for 69 pence in the Steam Summer Sale which means it's probably the cheapest game I will ever buy It's an old game but this isn't necessarily a bad thing because the visuals hold up very well and it's from an era where computer games were simpler and less intricate so you don't have to spend ages on tutorials and manuals which is something of a problem with more recent naval…
