Had to force close the game 20 times due to bugs. It's not that hard to put some love on such a legendary game.

I had a lot of fun with Bayonetta thanks to how fast and stylish the combat is. I'm not usually good with games that are heavy in chaining combos and all that but once I got a hang of it, fights felt super satisfying, and Witch Time never got old. The story is pretty wild and confusing, but it fits the game’s over-the-top attitude. Overall, it’s a great pick if you’re into flashy, skill-based action games. Kinda …

Bayonetta delivers some of the best character action combat out there. The combo system feels incredible once mastered, and the witch time mechanic never gets old. Story and tone are wild in the best way, backed by a killer soundtrack. If you love stylish action and skill-based combat, this is a classic for a reason.

Having a great time with the game so far! My only suggestion is that I hope you guys put Bayonetta 2 & 3 on steam too in the near future, this game's story is witty and comical, the combat is epic, and it truly has its own one of kind charm. Please! sell the other Bayonetta games on steam! Sincerely, Grateful Customer who had a blast with this game

New players will appreciate the tight, responsive controls and the immediate satisfaction of chaining flashy combos together, while veterans will uncover layers of depth in mastering weapon loadouts, advanced techniques, and higher difficulty modes that demand precision and strategy.

Critics, per Wikipedia
Critics generally lauded the graphical presentation and Bayonetta. Cam Shea of IGN Australia said in March 2009 that Bayonetta looked "stunning", and called Bayonetta their "new favourite video game character ever". They compared her to Devil May Cry's protagonist Dante, with his "playfulness and versatility", but with "some of the most visually inventive combat" they've seen. Similarly, GameSpy's Gerald Villoria praised the game in July that year as highly original to the point that it could end up like the poor-selling Ōkami (another Kamiya-directed game) because "the premise, the characters, the action sequences" were different from anything he had ever played, and called its lead a…

positive · AI labelView post →In my opinion, it and the Last of Us, both games that came out during a specific era of "trying to do something" have aged like milk compared to a game like Alan Wake which was actually trying to do something or even something like Bayonetta which was just fun

neutral · AI labelView post →Bayonetta would have ended at one game probably without any rereleases if not for Nintendo funding it when no other publisher would.
neutral · AI labelView post →I've never recovered from the ending of Bayonetta 3 and I never will and this was why. I have long consigned this game to my heart betrayal vault next to Sonic Frontiers.

neutral · AI labelView post →Bayonetta was forged in an era where developers still focused on the perfect mix of Art and Fun and didn't fill each game with a thousand of unneeded DLC to puff out their wallets even more or begged for money with aimless Early Access sh*t. Let's celebrate a time mostly lost and give these last examples of Classics the praise and the attention they deserve.

I'm looking for action hidden gems, preferably scripted and linear—no open world or procuderal generation (roguelike, roguelike-like, or roguelite) Some of my "usual suspects" favorites are Bayonetta, The Wonderful 101, Viewtiful Joe, God Hand, and Ninja Gaiden II. On the shmup/twin-stick shooter side: Crimzon Clover, Ketsui, and Assault Android Cactus+. I also love Catherine, so I wouldn't mind some puzzle thrown in there. As…

positive · AI labelView post →Bayonetta is Nietzsche's ubermensch, dominatrix ultra, and the ideal woman a reasonable human being should admire, fear and venerate. Bayonetta is a game about a confused person without sense of who they are and what their life purpose is, gradually coming to a grand self-realization in anti-dogmatic individuality and sexual liberty. In this game, Bayonetta is being attacked by the Catholic Church and the faithful masses who seek to strip her liberty and individuality off of her. The fight…
