Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 242 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (15,075 of 16,414 positive).
Many players say the game improves on the first, with better graphics, story, and atmosphere. [1][2][3] Some reviewers complain about clunky combat, frustrating stealth, and reliance on cheap jump scares. [4][5][6] Several posters note the game feels like a poor imitation of BioShock. [1][7][8]

Pros : - For an indie/low budget game, it's beautiful. Really a step up in this department from the first one. - The creepy atmosphere of the first one is still there. - The idea of a Jekyll/Hyde with a cutesy Bendy/Ink Demon isn't super original, but feels right and is executed okay. - Nods to the previous game are nice to see. Cons : - Mad over reliance on cheap jumpscares instead of ambiance. The new member of …

Bendy and the Dark Revival is a light-horror adventure game. This game is the sequel to Bendy and the Ink Machine. This sequel maintains the same 1930s cartoon aesthetic of the original, but adds in a much bigger, more mature, interactive world. This game feels alot like the Bioshock games. In fact, it seems many ideas of this game seem lifted straight out of the Bioshock universe. Gameplay involves exploring creepy …

Great atmosphere and story, but the gameplay drags it down. Pros: Creepy, immersive world with cool 1930s cartoon horror vibes. The lore and story are deeper and more interesting this time. Cons: Combat is clunky and unsatisfying. Stealth sections are frustrating and unclear. The Ink Demon feels more like an annoying pest than a terrifying threat. Verdict: If you're a fan of the Bendy universe and care about the …

First playthrough review time. Bendy and the Dark Revival is a first-person horror puzzle game that improves many things from the earlier game. The game has a better setting, sound design, and more detailed areas to explore. The old cartoon style mixed with horror elements gives the game its own identity. There are also many hidden details that make exploring the world more interesting. The gameplay is the weakest …

This is a big improvement on the first game, there is quite a few points in this game that made me genuinely terrified, if you enjoyed the first game this is a good change of pace.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nope. If you want to play a Bendy game, get Bendy and the Ink Machine instead. It's way better. This game relies on cheap jump scares and unkillable enemies (i.e., the Butcher Gang) whose only purpose is to drain your health. They're not scary or challenging, just irritating. The maps are confusing. I get that the game wants exploration, but getting lost every five minutes isn't good level design. Money is basically useless. You only spend it on food to recover the health those immortal…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game looks great! but just like the first game they have a huge problem in saving and loading files. If you ever play this game, expect to be forced to complete it in one go, because if you manually save anything, trust me on this. It wont EVER load again for you, and you'll be forced to start from square one
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the greatest itteration of Bendy that these developers have produced. Im drunk and I do not have the energy or patience to explain why.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →How in god's name is this game so well reviewed, I played through it with a friend on the steam family share and they want my money back it was so trash, we failed to find any redeeming qualities between the viewpoint of 4 people and one of my friends had to call it a night early with how godawful it was watching it Bioshock without the charm, with a little bit of Dishounoured if it was made without any love, there is no combat, there is like 1 interesting character design specifically from…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As someone who didn't enjoy the first Bendy game due to its boring fetch-quest gameplay, I still gave The Dark Revival a go because I saw potential. The sequel was a rollercoaster of emotions for me. At first, I thought it didn't improve on the first one, and some mechanics were even steps backward. Then, some parts had me thinking, "This is just worse BioShock." But, as the world started to open up, it easily surpassed the first game and became more fluid. By the end, I would say I liked it…

You play a man named Henry who was invited back to the old animation studio he used to work at, by Joey Drew, the head of Joey Drew Studios (which is also this game's developer).…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Felt like bioshock with its own story and theme. Gets a tad repetitive but its just enough to hold your attention to get through the story. Graphics are okay for cartoon. I think main reason this game is great is the story.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The story of this game is definitely more fleshed out than the first one, and keeps you engaged the whole time. The gameplay has some fun new elements we didn't see in the first game and the combat is better. It's hard to say if I enjoyed this game more than the og though. BATIM just has something that you don't feel in this one, idk. There was also a really annoying problem I had with saves in this game. I basically had to rely on autosaves the entire game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Been following Bendy since chapter 1's first version and I'm SO ASHAMED that I didn't played Dark Revival until today. Bendy & The Dark Revival is a sequel that beats its predecessor in every way possible. In terms of graphics, optimization (thanks for not capping the FPS to 60!), and story telling. I was surprised to see that it used all the elements and characters introduced in the game. It has a high quality gameplay, much better than BATIM. The only thing that I would change is that some…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall is an "okay" game to see the story and fell the environment. - Story: 6/10 Short story with a one small climax and little interresting depht. It sounds more like a children's story. - Environment: 8/10 Beatiful level design with a cartoon vibe that sync with the game atmosphere. Audio: 8/10 General talk it is pretty solid good work, some things like the hand power and usables in the scenario have nice splashed and cracked sounds. - Mechanic: 3/10 If you are like me and likes more…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bendy and the Dark Revival Completed After playing it on stream with Sheepi, I felt the need to go through and finish 100%ing Bendy. This game is quite enjoyable and leaps and bounds better than the first game. Ignore the fact that I time-traveled back to Halloween.
positive · AI labelView post →Honestly, Bendy and the Dark Revival is such a solid sequel. It was so satisfying to finally dive deep into the lore and learn the truth about the creator behind the madness. play the first game before you touch this one. Even though there are elements that take place earlier, the spoilers for the original game are everywhere. Trust me, you’ll appreciate the story so much more if you have the context of the first game which, by the way, I still enjoy replaying even now. I seriously don't know…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly, BATDR feels like a bastardization of the first game’s legacy. Plays like a poor man’s version of Bioshock. It’s trying to be something that it should not strive to be, losing all style and soul in the process. Generally left me with distaste and I somehow lost all intrest in playing more from this series.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is probably one of the most disappointing games I've ever played. Awful gameplay and completely basic story that is barely developed and ultimately makes zero sense. The new characters feel completely bland and pointless, and the ones we already knew were used for fan service basically: "look! here's Alice! She'll be here for 15 minutes and will add nothing to the episode!", "here you have the butcher gang! they also contribute nothing except fan service", "look at Henry! We gave him…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of the worst games I have ever played. The best way I can describe it is as a dragged-out, shallow imitation of BioShock. The ink-cartoon art direction is distinctive and some environments look good, but that is where my praise ends. The combat is mindless and repetitive: the Gent Pipe is your only weapon, and all you do is attack repeatedly or use Flow to escape. Most resources feel pointless because they are mainly used for healing, charging the pipe or buying basic upgrades.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really like the change from "hide and wait until the Ink Demon leaves" to "Hide before you run out of time or you die". Also enjoyed the plot and lenght of the game quite a lot, compared to BATIM it's easier to miss a lot of things and in my opinion it makes it more fun! Being able to save whenever is also awesome.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My son has no idea how lucky he is to have gamer parents. Him: I want to play Bendy and the Dark Revival. Me: OK. I already have it. I just have to download it for you. Yet he often complains he has "nothing to play" and wants a new game. I got two games a year when I was a kid.
neutral · AI labelView post →If I had a better memory, I'd go as far as to say this is the most disappointed I've ever felt playing a game in my life. But I'm sure I could say that for other games, I just don't know which. The thing that pissed me off the most was seeing people say this was "Basically Bendy, but if you added Bioshock into the mix", because that's either a purposefully spread, evil lie or the dumbest take someone could ever give on a game. I genuinely wannae know: what Bioshock did these people play? When…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →mechincally better than the first but everything else... lack luster. The combat is confusing (no block or dodge?) stealth is just annoying and confusing. horror levels below average. story is okay I guess. but the first game had moments on my first playthrough Were I was terrified and has a better protoganist overall. not this game. Honestly just buy the first one and play that. and then ignore the existaence of this sequel. 3/10
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As someone who's been a fan of bendy since 2017 this is an amazing game, the gameplay is really fun and the story is the kind of story that constantly makes you (me) question whats really going on, instead of just explaining everything outright (In a good way!) Anyway if you've played BATIM and enjoyed it u gotta play this
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is cool/fine i like overall theme and story it reminds me a bioshock games in some way. I like balance between sneak/combat/collecting for sure worth the money if u played prequel. Ink jump was cool ability if only there could be mixed with banish when you are sneaking. Like jump behind and auto banish enemy. I had issue with sound needed to play on low volume but even with lowvolume some scene where loud and half game need to play mute. I needed to play low cuz my kids where sleeping…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Definitely a lot better than the first game, wish they wouldve explained a bit more about how Little bendy actually worked and went deeper into the story
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great little indie horror game that takes obvious inspiration from Bioshock. The survival horror elements are so light that I would say its not a true survival horror game, rather a linear action horror game. The art style is nice, it runs incredibly well, and the story is interesting enough to keep you hooked. There's genuinely a spooky atmosphere and some good scares in the game. For $2 on sale, its a steal. For $20 normal price, its still a great value.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a cool game with an emotional story. My only negative would be the combat, it's super bad. Like you can barely dodge the attacks of the enemies. But if you ignore that, it has good mechanics and the puzzles are fun. I recommend it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →FInished chapter 1 of Bendy and the Dark Revival on the steam deck before but my save got deleted. got back to chapter 2. gonna finally finish it. awesome game

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Far superior compared to the original game! Phenomenal atmosphere, great writing, enjoyable combat, stealth mechanics, actual bossfights- this game is a fantastic entry into survival horror, easily well worth its price! Despite it being a cheaper indie game, this game is just oozing with quality.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A cool puzzle game with a pretty open world, and a cool ending to the Bendy storyline
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I take no joy in being a contrarian because I really enjoyed the first Bendy, but this second one was disappointing. The good: Visuals are cool and unique, characters are strange and interesting, difficulty feels just right, and the game is just as long as it needs to be. The bad: The forced stealth sections are slow and tedious, the upgrades feel nearly worthless, and the frame rate dips when enemies are on screen? Unlike any other game I've ever played. I have a beefy gaming PC and I was…

neutral · AI labelView post →This game imo is a big step up from the BATIM. I like the atmosphere and the vibe of the place. Story is good, upgrades are unique and the game is polished. Only thing I hate is the combat. There is no mastering this combat bec it is janky and I always get hit once no matter what and the Hard difficulty just makes it even more annoying to fight
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its decent, but I can never remove the felling of it being a worse Bioshock
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have played both the BATIM and BATDR, and I firmly believe Bendy and the Dark Revival is the better installment of the two. It is sufficiently scarier, eerier, and gripping. I very much like the "no chapter" gameplay as it allows for much more immersive gameplay, more opportunities for easter eggs (which this game does use), and a better overall flow. I really love Bendy and have waited for this game to release for ages, and I am very glad this has happened. Stay tooned for Bendy and the Ink…
