What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 162 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (2,015 of 2,423 positive).
Many players fondly recall the game from their childhood and find it nostalgic. [1][2][3] Some reviewers note the game feels dated but still enjoyable for its arcade-style bus driving. [4][5][6] A few players criticize the game for repetitive missions and control issues. [7][8][9]

This game is probably okay in 2010 but nowadays, it's nowhere near acceptable. There are 36 bus trip missions. The other main problem is the use of the same map over and over again. After 8 missions in, I felt bored cause it's repetitive driving with almost no obstacles to keep me alert. SCS should bring back this game with a new game engine. Add more maps and more pedestrians to make it look more realistic than …

As a kid, I downloaded every single 60 minute trial of this game on the web. And then when my family bought a new computer, I downloaded them all again. Well guess what ♥♥♥♥♥? Now I own this game. And if I wanna kidnap all the passengers and take them on a 2 hour trip to the snowy ski lodge while crashing into 50 buildings on the way, I'm gonna ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ do it. Campaign mode is garbage btw. I used to play this game in my childhood, had totally forgotten about it when life got to me. But today while surfing Steam I found the "Bus Driver" logo and a core memory unlocked. The music, the graphics, and even the environment that is set in the game is too beautiful. I remember while I was a kid I'd install the time trial demo of this game once every few months because the "1 hour time trial" would reset in a …

PROS: + you can kidnap a school bus full of children and smash it into oncoming traffic CONS: - good luck obeying traffic laws and arriving on time, it's downright impossible (even after having the throttle floored and running every red light I barely made it in time) EDIT: All tier 6 (and some tier 5) rides can actually be completed on time!! RATING: [68,9%] recommended

You can feel its age. It's simple and the challenge mostly comes from factors outside of your control so I guess you can say it's challenging... for the wrong reasons. If you don't care about setting a high score there is nothing special, content diversity is not something you will find here. All that being said, as long as you get it on a sale I can still recommend it when you need a couple minutes to shut down. …

positive · AI labelView post →Thank You Bus Driver is a game where you let people get on your bus, and when they don't follow your rules you can slap the shit out of them or just throw them off your bus completely. The game is as low IQ as it gets. I need 40 copies yesterday.

positive · AI labelView post →The PS store does not list a dev for this game, City Bus Driver Simulator. But deals.gg lists Atomic Fabrik as the developer, presumably because that's what it was previously. Cristian knows listing himself (Atomic Fabrik) as the dev is painting a target at this point, so he presumably scrubbed it.

negative · AI labelView post →This game is a trip down memory lane for me, so I'm willing to forgive a lot. Right now the game is old enough to drive, but despite that it seems to run quite well on Win11 and even supports an XBox One controller if you play with the settings a bit. I absolutely love the soundtrack. I wish I could hear that again in the Coaches DLC for ETS2.

neutral · AI labelView post →I find it a bit hard to say what I think about this game because it is from 2007 and it shows it, but I still had fun with it. It is not bad at all, just old. Works fine on Linux with Proton (Proton 4.11-12).
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ive loved this game since I was younger that's why it has so many hours lol its a simple arcade style sim game. fun, relaxing, just play it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A good arcade game about driving buses! I managed to complete all levels in 12 hours. I played on the steering wheel, and from the first person (it looks like a view from the hood). I'll say this, the only problem that could not be solved, it is a bit retarded reaction of the steering wheel when turning, you turned, but the wheels in the game, it does with a slight delay that when turning, can lead to a collision. But, except for this problem, the game has not found more errors or…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game feels like a blast from the past. Really cozy game and fun to play with or without a steering wheel. You can also skip the missions entirely and just explore the world.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As other in the comments...this game is my childhood :) That moment when the game starts and that chill music starts to play...ooooh. For that year it has great graphics, sounds, effects, traffic logic is on really high level. The game is training you in every level, especially counting time of greenlights on the traffic lights is really hard to count in order to not pass on red. This is one of the negative of the game, traffic lights are really hard to find out what time they are changing…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was my childhood. I love this game ✌️😭
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the first games I played, a classic, it might be a bit outdated for today for new players but this was too real back then when it released, we had it on school PCs downloaded for all to play. It has a bit of challenge, the only issue with it was no first person camera at the front, which is weird considering 18 Wheels of Steel (the truck games released around same time) had one. Regardless it's a great game and the routes are fun.

positive · AI labelView post →It's almost 2 decades old, but still gives you a pretty good simulator experience. Ofc it's not even close to their later games (ETS2, ATS), but for it's time, the content it has is good, and you can still play it without major modifications today. It becomes repetitive after a while, but isn't that the same in real life?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →⭐ Rating: 9/10 🎮 Genre: Driving / Simulation 🕹️ Hours Played: 12+ Bus Driver is one of those hidden gems that define what simulation games should be: immersive, satisfying, and surprisingly addictive. It may not have the modern graphics of newer sims, but what it delivers in atmosphere, structure, and realism makes it an absolute classic for fans of the genre.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There's a bus...and you drive it. Nothing more, nothing less. Also nostalgic/10. This was the first driving sim I had ever played and for what it was at the time it was pretty immaculate. Still amazes me 12 years later

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This bus driving simulator is just as simple as it looks. Beware of the traffic, watch out for the sudden red lights, but hurry to make it to the stations in time as there's a score bonus for that. There's not much that has to be said about this oldie, but I sure enjoyed its gameplay a lot. It's full of driving the bus and obeying the traffic rules; The usual. Some of the buses had faster acceleration, some had better handling, were shorter or longer, etcetera.. But despite being so simple, I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The nostalgia hits hard, and I am not entirely sure how, but by some miracle the game still holds up to its merits sixteen years later. Is it perfect? No. By no means is it even close. The timed bonuses are often nonsensical, the level progression is at times wonky, traffic does bizarre things (which in a sense I guess actually mirrors the real world so points for accuracy?), and the turning radius of the busses you operate would make a battleship blush. That being said, I still recommend…
