Some reviewers find the AI traffic and penalty system frustrating. [1][2][3] Others see potential and recommend waiting for fixes. [4][5][6]

You have GOT to be kidding me. Six years so they can remove or change everything that was good about the last game, and deliver this blurry, poor performing mess with a terrible UI, day one DLC and a season pass. Actually embarrassing. Characters look like trash, and all the customisation is weak and looks like trash anyway. Forced temporal antialiasing, or god help us, FSR or DLSS? No option to disable …

I held off on writing a review until the first post‑launch hotfix dropped, hoping it would smooth out the rough edges. Unfortunately, I’m still disappointed. The AI traffic is downright terrible, even after the update. Cars stop for no reason, block intersections, and generally behave like they’re trying to sabotage your route. It kills the flow of the game. And then there are the penalties, which are honestly …

After 30 hours, I can tenatively recommend Bus Simulator 27 with a lot of caveats. The game is a buggy unpolished mess at the moment, but there is a lot of potential here and the gameplay did keep me coming back, so it's obviously doing something right. The Good The map is genuinely really good and easily the best in the entire series. The Iberian-inspired Felicia Bay is made up of two cities - the main coastal city …

So I saw a lot of mixed reviews on this one. Me personally feel some are justified reviews but also some very dramatic and feel these individuals needs to give your heads a wobble. Game has a lot to offer in terms of driving, exploration and room for expansion. Buses are well detailed and wheel mechanics I actually enjoyed. Yes there is some teething issues and bugs but name be a game on release that doesn't? …

RECOMMENDED WITH NOTES Generally this game is on a good path but at the time of writing this review bugs are fairly pervasive and have a large impact on the gameplay. Play it if you are ok dealing with a handful of bugs, wait to play if you're looking for a smoother experience. negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I refunded the game with such quickness. As soon as I was starting the bus on campaign mode, a car slammed into the back of the bus throwing me on to the sidewalk then it wants to penalize me! No track IR + Sloppy AI + Bugged penalization system= a bad time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TL;DR: I really, really wanted to love this game, but in its current state I don't think I can. While the gameplay looks and feels good at a glance, over extended sessions it becomes clear that there's not much depth to the game, pulling you out of the immersion and the numerous bugs don't help it either. I would wait until a few patches, or a deeper sale before purchasing. The Good: Both the "stylized" and "realistic" graphics options look great. They compliment the gameplay incredibly…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Stay away from this game, DO NOT BUY, at least for now. It is plagued with bugs, game breaking ones... It is far from enjoyable... Traffic is a mess, pedestrians appear out of nowhere, you get hit like this is wreckfest.... This needs several months of development. IT IS NOT a full developed product. When you get a pach every day... that means something... Stay away from this trash.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was so excited for this game that I pre-purchased it.. I have about 8 hours into the game so far and I have to admit.. I am incredibly disappointed with this game. It is super buggy, feels like a rushed release, boring, no depth to it, etc. I added some advertisements on my bus and now I have obnoxious decals over my windshield that you cannot move, the dlc paint wraps are awful and cover your windshield as well, etc. I so badly wanted to like this game... Maybe I have unrealistic…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Had to refund this in its current state, AI traffic is just atrocious and basically makes the game unplayable at the time of me writing this review. Traffic jams at every intersection and traffic has pretty much no sense of surroundings whether it’s with you or other AI traffic. Probably will purchase it again at a later date though after some issues are fixed though. My advice, hold off on buying this just for right now until they fix some issues in the game because you will not have a fun…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I cannot recommend Bus Simulator 27 in its current state due to the constant bugs that break your immersion and therefore ruin the experience the game is trying to offer. Issues I encountered while playing: 1. The traffic AI is still bad, just not as bad as it was in the demo. But it is still quite bad. They still do not know the rules of the road and seem to stop in odd places when there is no reason to stop. Cars do still occasionally crash into you when you are stopped, which is quite…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Many bugs I would give it a couple months before buying. Cant get refund cuz it took to long for bugs to show themselves so give them time to fix it. Should have been early release
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Having played many bus simulator games, including the Bus Simulator series, there’s definitely a lot missing from this game. It feels very rushed, lots of bugs and performance issues. One big issue for me is the end of trip bus complete reset when you just want to drive the return leg? You have to setup the entire bus again… whilst I haven’t refunded it yet I’m definitely holding off playing it until they add this feature.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Disappointingly, I cannot recommend this title. I suggest you play Bus Simulator 21 instead. As were many others, I was so excited when this title was announced and anxiously awaited release. Unfortunately, the game is simply lacking – in everything. Even with 6 years between titles, I wasn’t expecting a complete remake, but rather a much more polished, immersive continuation of BS’21. What we received actually feels like a downgrade. It is painfully apparent that this title was rushed –…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really like driving buses and coaches in Bus Simulator 27. It’s really fun to drive around the city and stop at every bus stop. The game is still not finished and definitely needs more development, but I can see the improvements. Since the developers have fixed things twice in the recent updates, the game is much better now than it was before. Keep it up, and please continue listening to the community and taking our feedback seriously! There are still some bugs and things that need…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →★ THIRD UPDATED REVIEW - MIXED - 6/10 ★ This is my third posted update after spending more time with Bus Simulator 27. Firstly, thank you to the developers. They have already responded to me twice, and I can see they are actively reading feedback and pushing updates. I genuinely appreciate it. My first two hours were honestly rough. The opening story felt very cheesy to me, the bugs were frustrating, and my first impression was around 4/10. You can skip the story, but I would…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pros: - A big map - Plenty of buses to drive - Decent bus models Cons: - Rubbish AI traffic - Rubbish rule judgements - Rubbish localization - Rubbish optimization The game is so buggy and it ruins every single pro. You do not expect a vechicle simulation game where AI cars can fly in the sky or disappear right in front of you for no reasons. It seems Simteract and Astragon do not understand what QA means. Right now, the game is more of a Bug Simulator, rather than a Bus Simulator. Would've…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In it's current state, I can't recommend the game. I bought the 50€ edition and regretted it. The NPC drivers are so random, it makes no sense. I spent 5min stuck in a straight line even after a reset, and when I could escape that hell I got rammed by a car at full speed, getting a fine and a malus. The passengers have the ability to trigger events that you can ignore, no impact, but also they can fly. After getting stuck in the doors they will be able to sit in the air and follow your bus…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Early Access review. Honestly, the game is extremely unpolished. There is tons of Bugs and the AI and NPCs are programmed horrible, their animations are laggy, and sometimes they just clip through the bus. The sounds are okay (kinda quiet) could be better but no problem with that. The graphics are good, but the optimalization is atrocious. Sometimes the FPS drop to 20 for no reason at all. The steering is alright, could be improved tho. At the current state i rate this game a 5/10, if it gets…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Nowhere near as good as Bus Bound, unfortunately. While the map is much larger and nice looking, everything else is worse. Here are some of the problems below: - AI traffic is genuinely abysmal and buggy. They constantly get stuck, disappear, or just stop dead in the middle of the road. They haven't fixed this since Taxi Life. It's just a poor show for a 'full release'. - While the game aims for simulation, the game penalises you unfairly due to the plethora of bugs. AI traffic in your way…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I truly wished for the game to be an improvement over the last game in the franchise. When it hit the shelves yesterday, I bought it with excitement. Unfortunately... I requested a refund after 40-something minutes. First, the traffic AI is somehow worse than in Bus Simulator 21. When following a car through a junction with right of way, the car in front just stopped in the middle of the junction, almost causing a gridlock. Of course I got penalised when trying to go around them. Perhaps it's…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →## No recommendation – a new game that barely feels new I have been a professional bus driver for six years: **two years exclusively on scheduled public transport and four years full-time as a coach driver on tours across Europe.** I also own Bus Simulator 12, 16, 18 and 21. I was genuinely interested in BS27, especially because coaches were finally being introduced. Unfortunately, the result is extremely underwhelming. ### The biggest issues * **Driving & steering:** Barely improved over…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly this is such a disappointment after playing bs18 and bs21... A lot of the key features that made bs21 great have not been added here. The driving mechanism is way worse. The long busses are horrible to drive and the amount of bugs is insane. I was really excited for the release but it has been nothing but a let down so far. They simplified the game way too much. Being able to play free roam is something I expected as a standard since bs21. The only pro's so far are the updated…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is very bugging. Alot of features from bus simulator 21 are not in bus simulator 27 (although i know there are different developers). No dealership on the map. There is no open world. You can only drive the routes. Im very dissappointed in what has been developed in 6 years time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game is still poorly optimized. you still get penalized wrongfully. simple things like your characters skull clipping through hair, your head clipping through hats arent fixed draw distance looks horrible despite being on ultra graphics, after 20ft everything becomes very low quality and moves at 20fps. despite devs claiming that they have already implemented updates to fix a lot of the problems people here are complaining about. the A.I. trafiic is still horrid. they stay stopped at…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No improvements from Taxi Life and Bus Simulator 21, cars randomly tried to turn into me, randomly stopped in front of crossings and passengers are acting weird, u never know if u can clear blocking passengers. Graphics quality is still miserable on a 5080, 9955hx3d laptop. Product refunded within 3hrs, fingers crossed and just purchased The Bus.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bus Simulator 27 has a great foundation. The core gameplay is genuinely enjoyable, the map is beautiful, and the selection of buses is excellent. Most of the vehicle models are represented well and clearly received a lot of attention. Graphically, the game can look fantastic. I particularly appreciate the different visual presets, which can fundamentally change the presentation and make the game look more realistic and less cartoonish. My only major criticism of the map itself is that many…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has so many bugs it is just terrible it has been released in this state. Can't even complete the first drive in career mode without bugs and like I was penalised every 5 seconds for 'driving on the wrong side of the road' despite I was on the right side in a long queue of cars waiting for the AI for minutes because they have no brain to decide who drives and who waits... Do not get this game unless you are ready for constant frustrations. A game released without what seems the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bus 27 how we do we start about this game? I thought Bus 21 issues was experience developer (who made 18) has issues not understand gameplay or Unreal Engine makes the game bad. When they decide to make Bus Bound and I can clearly see the issue was developer, so I thought maybe 27 will be different with new develoepr but optimstic when it was Simteract (who was behind Taxi and Train Life). Well turns out what Astragon cares about? money not a better or experience developer but an red flag…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was really anticipating a new Bus Sim but this product is in a really bad place right now. The amount of bugs that I have encountered within less than two hours of playing is devastating. Some bugs are nearly gamebreaking and you have to use elaborate work arounds in order to progress in the game. Other than that, problems that existed in previous Bus Simulator games already have just been reintroduced in this one as well. The game can still not correctly identify whether you have used your…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The AI drivers are so frustrating from randomly running into you (of course you have to pay the fines), randomly blocking the road even though you have the right of way, to just casually standing there not turning or whatever else they want to do. Also randomly get driving on the wrong side penalty even though I'm not. Quite frustrating...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like to give the benefit of the doubt, and I wanted to enjoy this - so I bought it despite the demo and what I've read about the track record of the developer with their previous similar titles... I have enjoyed a good bit of the game so far, there's a lot to like, but the bugs are so frustrating - and some appear basic and unbelievable that it launched like this. To their credit they have patched already - but their solution to several of the bugs is to add the option to turn that feature…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Map Is Amazing but the busses feel off, they still not a smooth driving as Bus Sim 18 The seem to be going to fast and to powerful seem to acelate faster then an F1 Car And Brake just as sharp the stearing is to powerfull, to turn just slightly and your nearly doing a full 360. A.I Traffic is bad and when they hit you you bounce around like a pinball again bring back the A.I Traffic from BS 18 at lest they let you out and move lanes without smashing into the side of you.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think one needs to have appropriate expectations when it comes to this game. Like the original, there's quite a bit of jank here with something decent underneath. It's not for everyone though and I'd certainly understand why a person might choose to wait before purchasing this game. I'll start off with the positives: 1. The world of Felicia Bay is a huge upgrade over the original. The city, the landmarks, all the other cool places are actually really great. It feels like a real place and is…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've purchased and played the last few franchises, and they were great to play. I never recalled those past games to be so buggy out of the box! Perhaps, they should have spent a few more months working all the bugs out instead of releasing it. From passengers getting stuck when onboarding and exiting, to random freezes, and slow to no responses when buttons are pressed on the keyboard or pc game controller, it's an epic fail! A major bug update should clear all of this up. However, it's rather…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In it's current form I CAN NOT recommend the game. - Traffic is bugged to hell - buses randomly stop everywhere despite being on a schedule. - Performance isn't really there (mine is close to max settings) - Certain things could be done with one click i.e advertisements. - Highway was not built properly. Huge bumps, terraform showing & lines not showing in the centre. - Unable to reject applicants. Thus allowing newer ones to come through - Bus Station isn't really working as intended…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well you’d think 21 was the new game and 27 was from 2021, 21 had proper bus depots you could go in and out as you pleased, you could create timing points as you wanted, I hate the fact you can’t do the return without resetting the whole bus, I also hate how you can’t move around stops and you can’t click on the map for your buses, it’s shame that they didn’t just keep adding to 21 as that set the barrel high compared to the mess 27 has brought us, the whole thing seems rushed and I know it’s…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →All in all the game is good However after a few updates i tried to pick up the game where i left it started driving and instantly hit a invisible object that reset the bus into nowhere I will give the game another fair chance after a few more patches are out till then i cant exactly change it to "good"

We loved Bus Simulator 18, it was actually quite good and co-op was nice! But so far, this is a mess.. We wanna drive convoy.. But does not really matter, the rest is broken anyway.. I streamed my whole 2 hours and the VOD will be up.. So the devs can happily look at it. Performance seems okay.. I have quite a beefy PC and on everything high in 4k +…

A) the game is new, and they have content scheduled, most games dont release with alot of content and add it down the line. if your complaining about that, complain about literraly every single game on the moder day market B) the handelling is damn good and very similar to bus sim 21 on wheel, now if you dont have a wheel, then thats where your going wrong, bus sim has never been great on controller c) performance is…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall fun game. Needs ALOT of bug fixing though. AI traffic is still bad and there is a bug where a passenger will get sutck in the threshold of the door way and you can't close the door or move the bus and inyteracting with them does nothing. You have to exit to the main menu and reload the game to despawn them.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I thought I was buying a bus simulator game, but I ended up buying a ton of bugs. Random wrong penalties, AI cars randomly crashing into my bus, the wheelchair parked in the wrong place after boarding on some buses, buses shaking when parked for no reason, and many, many other bugs. Besides the city size and graphics, I don't think there are many improvements when comparing it to Bus Simulator 21, including bus textures, modelling and driving physics. I am very disappointed after the long…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While it only came out today the AI work is massive disserpointment stuck on review screen in a loop not great i know it early days but they need to fix the bugs in ai cars stopping at random intervals when the road ahead of them is clear but not bad for first time though only time will tell what they do to this game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely abysmal performance! 40fps with frame gen on in the game + AMD Fluid motion frames in the driver software.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have been enjoying the Bus Simulator series since Bus Simulator 16; in fact, I own 16, 18, and 21. However, even though the game is really good, there are still several bugs that need to be fixed. 1. Sometimes turn signals aren't detected properly when turning at intersections. 2. Sometimes hitting the curb at low speed near a bus stop counts as if you were driving at high speed. 3. The biggest bug I experienced: I was stopped at a bus stop, and an NPC bus on the same route came up from…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Multiplayer is VERY buggy with desync, confusing error messages (also bad german translations??) and many more issues. The map is big, but many buildings don't have collision detection, you can easily get stuck or out of bounds, people sometimes just fly, bend, teleport or their skin gets hidden. Because of disappearing cars or your bus after a mission you can get hard stuck and have to restart your game, because you still have a menu open you can't interact with anymore. I REALLY hope that…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →so this game is pretty much unplayable in its current state due to passengers glitching and getting stuck in the doorway, which is ridiculous, i'd say around 7 out of 10 stops there are passengers stopping in the door, and when there is no way to continue until the doors are closed it really don't give you much else to do aside from restart. played this game around an hour and a half or so and realized that it's gonna take a good bit more work before it's playable. paid money for a game…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall fun! The thing I noticed is why are NPCs sound so pushy when they ask for a ticket. You haven't even selected the options for the ticket yet and they sound you're being rushed. They should be nicer!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Right now, I'm having lots of FPS lags, quite not sure why. My PC handled much more complex games than that - Here I can't reach above 110 FPS on 1080p. I also see wierd NPC pedestrian behavior, I see laggy NPC cars on the road.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A good game, but too many bugs. When I first heard about a new bus simulator finally coming out I was very excited to see what it had in store. I downloaded it and hopped on with some of my friends, just to realise the game is full of bugs such as a blurry dashboard, unusable mirrors and a chromatic effect all over the screen that I was told isn't an intended feature. I would love to revisit this game in a month or 2 when the bugs are ironed out but for now it is nearly unplayable.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Improvement from predecessor are definitely the coaches. AI traffic is horrible! Spawning of the bus when you want to do a route is horrible and unrealist! When wanting to continue a route or do the return route a screen loads and you need to setup the bus from scratch again! Previous sim you could get bus from terminal and drive to your first stop and continue the route without interruption. Wipers need work as no need to have them on full to get windscreen clean. DLC’s on the first…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would not recommend buying this game - it is a total disaster in almost every sense. - The graphics look tolerable on maximum settings, but not good overall. While the models are mostly fine, the level of detail is extremely inconsistent. Some textures on the buses look like low-resolution 96x48px images stretched to fill the entire screen, making them look absolutely terrible. The undersides of the buses are plain, detail-free slabs, and the wheels look like they are floating next to the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Too buggy to recommend in its current state, have played only the two opening missions and its already crashed twice and softlocked me in a bug to where I had to restart the tutorial mission.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is only a preview of the final review of mine. The game world (the map) is a huge step up from Bus Simulator 21. The world feels more real, the road layout more believable, tons of little details around everywhere. It is clear that lots of work went into it. It has nice atmosphere overall. BS21 was a bit cartoony in terms of the world, but the buses were great back then as well, so nothing too different in here, which is not a bad thing. The game progression is pretty cool, but a bit too…
