Catlateral Damage
Developer Manekoware, Fire Hose Games
Catlateral Damage is a 2013 first-person video game in which the player plays as a cat. The goal of the game is to knock as many of the player character's owner's belongings onto the floor as possible. There are game modes in which the player can race against the clock and get a certain number of items onto the floor as fast as they can, score as many points as possible in two minutes, or play freely with no clock… From Wikipedia (CC BY-SA 4.0)

What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 162 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (1,240 of 1,385 positive).
Players enjoy the cathartic chaos of knocking things over as a cat. [1][2][3] Many recommend buying the Remeowstered version or waiting for a sale. [4][5][6] Some reviewers report issues with controls, motion sickness, or bugs. [7][8][9]

The VR on the game is terrible unfortunately because it forces you to use teleport movement. This game is tricky because it’s amazing and terrible depending on how you play. For a flat 2D screen gamer it’s an absolute riot and a lot of fun. However for the VR version, forced to use teleport movement which not only completely breaks immersion but also doesn’t work at all for this type of game. If you want to play a …

Be a cat and wreck sh*t. Praises • Adorable pictures of cats. (And occasionally dogs and other pets.) • Wrecking sh*t is strangely therapeutic, especially if you’re stressed. • Amusing events. Moon Gravity always gave me a chuckle because you can sail across an entire room in slow motion. I would love to see a cat’s reaction to that in real life. • References to other video games. For example, you can find figures …

While I do recommend this game, I will preface with - Go for the remeowstered version. It was much better balanced and overall a better time, while still being essentially the same content. I think I would have enjoyed this more had I not played the remastered first, but alas. The remaster I was willing to 100% whereas I'm good calling this one at 27/34 achievements. A goofy game where you play as a cat and wreck …

I asked my brother what games he played to calm himself down whenever he was pissed; He bought me two games: Wolfenstein 2 and this game, Catlateral Damage. Haven't played Wolfenstein yet but this game is a "purrfect" way to take out your anger. Super cute and fun to play while listening to something in the background! RIP Mystic, you would've loved this game. </3

90% of the 162 Steam reviewers we collected recommend Catlateral Damage. The complaint that keeps coming up: gets repetitive quickly. Deal-breaker or nitpick?

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really wanted to love it, but it gave me horrible motion sickness :( I also felt like the controls were a little clunky.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can fathom how this has positive reviews. The clumsy controls makes it feel like you’re a 300 lb cat nailed to the floor, who can teleport but has cardboard paws. There is no “knocking stuff to the floor” your weak little cartoon limbs can barely interact with anything. This is a poorly made, ugly, incredibly tedious game. I’m upset with myself for spending $2 on it and even more upset with Steam for not granting my refund. This game shouldn’t even be listed on Steam.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I loved the idea behind this game, but it made me extremely motion sick. I've been playing games across several genres, including VR games, and I usually do not have this sort of issue. If it weren't for this issue, I think I would like the game and would probably recommend it.

neutral · AI labelView post →Catlateral Damage. A silly little indie game where you play as a cat knocking everything down on the floor. It's hardly a goty, but worth it if you own/like cats, and is pretty short. You can collect like 200 pictures of real cats, so the creator's love of cats really shines through.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Literal chaos. Not sure how much I'd recommend paying full price, but cute game nonetheless. Actually somewhat challenging achievements which gives you (or at least me) an incentive to play more than just a full levels of messing about. I would've liked a better tutorial, as I only found out nearly 20 hours in that "C" lets you crouch... tbh I didn't miss it or feel like it was missing so wasn't a big deal, but still! This was the same for "F" to pick stuff up, which quickly turned into…

Cthulu Saves the World and even shorter, Cthulu Saves Christmas if you want some bite sized JRPG goodness. Breath of Death VII from the same dev is also short. Im also a sucker for Hidden Object Adventure gsmes which all take 2-4 hours. Artifex Mundi was my favorite dev for those until 2020 when they pivoted to a mobile dev. Donut County was really addicting and…

Played the first two Bravely games on the DS, and the other game I got just looks like fun. As for what I'm playing? Backlog 😅 When I'm in the mood for story rich I'm playing Death Stranding. When I'm in the mood for just something fun I'm playing Peglin.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You Are a Cat That Likes To Knock Everything Over I think that's the definition of pretty much any cat. Right? I actually have a pet sheep that likes to knock over everything outside. True story. There is nothing epic about this game. It's a time waster when you want to play a drunk cat and knock over stuff. It's fun but it wears out like everything else. I noticed there's a Remeowstered version now. I also noticed it does not have VR support like the original. Also keep in mind I don't play…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My childhood game. I used to play it a lot on my dad's Steam account 10ish years ago. It's weirdly... cat-hartic! But the pun is true. It's fun to just romp around and smack things off of high places. Very satisfying to get things like books. I also played this recently with my own cat on my arm. She loves to smack pens off of my desk, so consider this game as me caring about her interests.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun enough game, but definitely not one worth the hard drive space or price
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Decent game but get the Remeowstered version if you wanna play and enjoy Catlateral Damage. The hit detection isn't the best and the cats look like god awful pumpkin goblins. I do like the "Events" that happen though, wish it was brought over to the Remeowstered version. Got both versions in a bundle on sale so here we are. I recommend it only if it's on sale and bundled with Remeowstered.

neutral · AI labelView post →This game is alright. It gets boring after a few times. It's quite repetitive and there's only a handful of items to swipe. After a game or two there is some variety to be wished for. There's a few levels but you don't even get to them without a rare spawn from the map. They should be added to the rotation for Objective mode. Perhaps more kitty powerups or events would add to the variety. Maybe some more objectives to do as well instead of get x item or get the other item. Also not all the…
