neutral · AI labelView post →❤️🩹 Don’t overlook this modest gem: Causeway on Apple+TV is a quietly moving film about trauma recovery and loneliness. Jennifer Lawrence and Brian Tyree Henry turn in excellent performances. Felt a little bit like a Tennessee Williams drama and not just because it’s set in NOLA.

positive · AI labelView post →There's another Tom Hanks movie called Finch that I really liked a lot. Best Picture winner CODA is really good. New release The Gorge. I liked a picture called Causeway with Jennifer Lawrence. Fly Me to the Moon. All the Charlie Brown movies. And everyone should binge Ted Lasso. It's inspirational.

neutral · AI labelView post →With sincerest apologies to CAUSEWAY (2022) dir. Lila Neugebauer, which is also great film and just as worthy of being in that top-four.
positive · AI labelView post →I'll never forget seeing a rough-cut of the Jennifer Lawrence movie CAUSEWAY. A very straight forward "talk-y" drama. The number of rough/unfinished VFX shots would truly astonish you. But watching the finished film you'd have no idea there was any VFX at all (other than the leg replacement).

The best though is: Still, A Micheal J Fox Movie. It's heartbreaking and heartwarming #Filmsky #Movies #Appletv #Moviesky #Cinema

neutral · AI labelView post →I gets annoyed with continuity errors in terms of geography/location. E.g., there was a Hong Kong film where people start getting chased on foot in Causeway Bay and they end up over in Kwun Tong and... I got distracted by how improbable that was and couldn't enjoy the rest of the movie!!!

positive · AI labelView post →Lila Neugebauer's tender film about connection between two broken trauma bonded people is a powerfully nuanced film showcasing a talented cast. Brian Tyree Henry is the real breakout star here proving his talents go beyond his Atlanta tenure. #Causeway boxd.it/9jRSGJ
positive · AI labelView post →I got to see this in theatres three times in Malaysia. I am from Singapore, so I just need to cross the Causeway to watch it there. Needless to say, this is one movie I highly recommend, especially if you want to see a "family-friendly" foreign CG animated movie that is way more than that.

neutral · AI labelView post →Just watched #Causeway. The best way to describe it is a subtle emotional journey. It may not have the action of a Marvel movie, but its story is told in such a beautiful way. Oh and also, Jennifer Lawrence is the main character. #movies
positive · AI labelView post →Review: #CAUSEWAY (2022) #AppleTV I love a quiet little movie where no one gets killed, nothing gets blown up and no gratuitous nudity. I’m surprised it's rated R. Brian Tyree Henry is spectular as James, an average Joe who meets this weird young woman and takes her in. The mismatched pair is believable. Jennifer Lawrence seems like a vivacious person who lights up a room. In films like CAUSEWAY, she shines. The woman can flat out act. Lynsey's inperfections are pitch perfect. #GreatMovie
positive · AI labelView post →#Causeway #MovieReview #Drama #JenniferLawrence Causeway is a promising coming out for its first-time director; exactly the kind of modest effort that all but guarantees she won’t turn out to be a one-hit wonder. https://ninetypercentcrapmoviereviews.wordpress.com/2022/11/13/causeway/
neutral · AI labelView post →By: Louisa Moore / www.ScreenZealots.com This film was screened at the Toronto International Film Festival It’s tricky to tell a story about the impacts of trauma, and director Lila Neugebauer handles the subject with a sensitive, deft hand in her feature film debut “Causeway.” This intimate independent film is one with a narrative of pain, healing, and friendship, culminating in an extremely effective (and very human) drama. While in Afghanistan working for the Army Corps of Engineers, Lynsey…
positive · AI labelView post →Watched #Causeway last night. I didn't think I'd like it, because the premise (a young woman adjusts to life with a traumatic brain injury) sounded depressing and boring. But it turned out to be pretty entertaining, and neither depressing nor boring. It hit some of the same notes as The Sound of Metal, which I also didn't think I'd like for similar reasons, and ended up liking after all. For similar reasons.

Seeking help from mechanic "James" (Brian Tyree Henry) she appears reluctant to give him her number. She claims she doesn't recall it... Lila Neugebauer doesn't bring anything new to the military subgenre of "veteran returns home", but she knows how to give the spotlight to the actors, making the best possible decisions for them to shine.
