The game itself is pretty good!! However this port is a bit inconstant. It'll load perfectly fine sometimes but other times crashes. The game can't go into fullscreen 1080p and will always show an error message if you try to do so. -FIX Go to the folder the games installed in (Right click the game and then go to "Properties" if you don't know.) and then run the .exe file from there. Unless you really wanna play this …

This game contains a cyber ninja, goth lolita androids, a Lovecraft-themed magical girl, and a giant Italian chef who fights with restaurant tools. That's enough for me.

If you can get it for under 10 bucks why not? The netplay is okay but you'll get random inputs all match every match. For example, you can be pressing absolutely nothing and do a special move because you input it 10 seconds earlier. The game was released in 2011 so most everyone that still plays will be unbeatable. Long combos mean you may as well drop your controller for 20 seconds while your opponent dials up a …

Chaos Code is one hell of an underground game. The visuals feel very unattractive, the story and dialogues are exceptionally stupid, even among anime fighters. Voice acting is so damn cringeworthy that it becomes funny in the end. To top it all, there are typos all over the place - what the hell were the developers even doing? All in all, the first impression may be kinda unappealing. But what lies beneath the …

Extremely overlooked fighting game. Almost every single playable character is interesting and unique. The singleplayer content is great, you can customize character colors and there's tons of stuff to unlock, even a cute little farm minigame. Easy to combo, recommended for beginners. Leaving my review here in hopes that the sequel gets a future Steam release.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am a 51 year old father, probably one of the oldest people playing this game. I am a single father to my son, who is now 14. My son recently downloaded CHAOS CODE -NEW SIGN OF CATASTROPHE- and in less than a week, he had already played for over 26 hours. This was terrible for me, as it was already hard enough for me to spend time with my son, as he is always out with his friends or just watching videos on Tiktok. So I decided to make a Steam account and get this game to see if I could maybe…

neutral · AI labelView post →I love anime style fighting games... but I felt this one was just sub-par. The moves didnt feel impactful, the characters felt bland.. and I hated their idea of 'custom color', where instead of being able to pick whatever color you desire for a certain part, instead it was overly simplified with preselected colors, which most you had to unlock. The combat felt bland, and I do not like that there was no option for at least english subtitles. I have no idea which characters have a story with who,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is honestly one of my favorite fighting games. If there's any game I'd say it's similar to, probably KOF or other SNK games, but it has a lot that makes it different obviously. It has great system and character balance with no one mechanic seeming overwhelming, and each character has their fair share of pros and cons that they have to work around with all of them still being on an even playing field, and especially with the extra selectable moves, this game properly avoids falling into the…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →ARC System comes back with another great fighting game! And man, it is so much fun! With its easy-to-learn mechanics and smooth combos and graphics, we have to take a look at this game! Released in 2016 for PC and PS4, Chaos Code can easily be described as the simplest ARC System game, and we are going to figure out why. Gameplay: This game is a 4 button fighter similar to SNK's King of Fighters series. It works in it's favor too, as it has the 2 punches and kicks. Of course, we also have…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you know about this game: it's not just 3:4, you can turn off these liners and play on widescreen. I don't know why there are no screenshots on the store page to show it. Considering netcode: It's OK. If I'm to compare it with other titles using Steamworks, I would rate this game as 6\10, GG REVELATOR 10\10. BB:CP 8\10, Melty Blood as 1\10 and Nitroplus Blasterz as 3\10. Koihime Enbu is pretty much the same 6\10. I'm using my friend from Germany as a reference for this scale. While we have…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love playing fighting games casually, and this is one of those games that you can easily pick up and play and enjoy for a good amount of hours. The game itself isn't new, it doesn't reinvent the fighting genre, is just your basic 2D Fighter made by Arc Sys. its just another obscure anime fighter that disappeared beneath giants like Guilty Gear, BlazBlue, and King of Fighters. The visuals are unmistakably budget, the story is mostly an excuse to throw colorful personalities together, and it…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A genuinely amazing fighting game. Every fighting game has it's unique flavors, but this game somehow feels like home despite being such a strange beast. Perhaps I've just consumed too much Kusoge over the years, but there's something fun about a game you can just pick up and rock. Fighting games with onscreen movelists are always a joy, because nobody has the excuse of "I don't know my moves!" they're right there on the screen! The ability to add new moves and supers to each character makes…

After I played this game, My life made a turn for the better. I started eating right, Making top 8s consistently, started getting MAD ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. Turn your life around like I did, and PLAY THIS GAME!!!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Is the online as good as dead? Yeah. But god it's such fun to play. Gameplay-wise, it plays like a mix of King of Fighters and anime air-dashers like Guilty Gear/BlazBlue, while also adding some of its own mechanics. It uses King of Fighters' 4 button model, with light and heavy punches and kicks and it uses their general combo structure. It then spices that up with airdasher-esque canceling, like dash cancels and jump cancels. It also borrows double-jumps and air-dashes from the air-dasher…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →☑️Good: ✔️ 2D Anime characters design will fit otaku type of people or what so ever ✔️ Pixel environments design quite well. ✔️ Background music fit the spirit of the match. ✔️ Have training place for you to freely test characters skills and power. ✔️ Various game modes to play, included Solo campaign, versus to vs AI, time attack mode, mission mode, also have remote play, which will allow you to play with your friends, and online mode, but seems like it's already dead. ✔️ Can customize…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A surprising game! I didn't expect it to be so good. If you like playing old school King of Fighters in single fighter mode, then you'll feel right at home with this game. By the way, I have a Core i7 6700k, a GTX 1080, and 16GB of RAM, and I'm not experiencing long load times. I see a number of mentions about long load times in other reviews, but it looks like your mileage may vary significantly depending on your hardware.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →#combotober Day 25 - Change directions mid-combo (Chaos Code: New Sign of Catastrophe, Hermes) I think it's possible to take the opponent back to the other corner, but I didn't feel like banging my head against the wall anymore.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this game repeatedly on ps3 ps4, now pc, and I've bought it for several friends whenever I can to play with them online. This may be Published by Arc System, but it's not developed by it as some people may have some misconception, I guess I'm making this review because this page could use more positive reviews. This game may come off weird for a lot of arksystem anime fighters from all franchise like blazblue, GG, arcana hearts, undernight. But more familiar to those like i said;…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Depends on 3rd party software to run. This would qualify it for no reccomendation already but when the game is working, it's mediocre at best. The translation was just ripped from the Hong Kong localization (so expect engrish text wherever humanly applicable) The online is a wasteland at this point, so don't bother if you're in it for that. The singleplayer is pretty mediocre, and the arcade / story mode is brought down not only by the aformentioned engrish, but also some embarrassing endings.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dont know use plays this but had to get it fun little anime game. 1234 button combo system..small little gem :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it doesn't have rollback, but its lowkey easy and stuff just works. its an anime fighter but its not as hard as some other anime fighters out there for sure, which is good because it definitely falls into a category where you kinda have to play it casually (this is nobody's MAIN fighting game.) overall great gameplay, and if you're not expecting rollback or a huge community (there is an online wiki on mizuumi.wiki tho), this game is dope.

neutral · AI labelView post →This is great enjoyable game with interesting characters, there is sadly no netcode and nobody plays the multiplayer. The puppet character Cait & Sith have a couple of character specific bugs regarding them, like lost inputs when you hitstop, but it isn't too bad if you time it. This game has an infinite input buffer, but it's only for one input, it won't work for multiple inputs. There's quite a few mechanics that are reminiscent of SNK's fighting games, like the roll when you A+B that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Extremely fun fighting game with a lot of elements reminiscent of older games like the X2 era Guilty Gear games and older King of Fighters games especially 2002. The characters are goofy, the story is basically an afterthought, but the game is fun and has interesting ideas like a chef grappler. Unfortunately the online is delay based netcode which combined with a small playerbase means you need friends and/or to join a discord for consistent matchmaking. There is a surprising amount of single…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →When you see this game on sale grab it for sure a fun game to have on the side for some casual shenanigans and a cool one to lab to try and TOD.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Criminally underrated fighting game. Another one I supported on PS3 back in it's day.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Sometimes the game just crashes in multiplayer, sometimes when you get up after a knock down your inputs aren't expressed. Either wake-up block ain't a thing, or this game doesn't like wake-up options that aren't wake-up dp/super
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Retro is a funny thing. When something is deliberately retro then it is seen as a feature. You can often see this with titles that use pixel-art intentionally to capture the nostalia of the early-80s gaming and many people love the game all the more for that fact. But when a game isn't trying to do that it looks and feels dated. That is Chaos Code. When you look at the videos and such things are moving at such a blistering speed due to the skill of the players it all looks fantastic but when…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Interesting characters, good gameplay, surprisingly solid multiplayer. Nice game overall, but unfortunately dead.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →There's a lot of reasons to dislike this game; insanely repetitive music between matches, some absolutely baffling UI choices, a cast with way too many characters that feel downright crass, lack of crucial features for a modern fighter. But this is one of those games you buy for pennies for a couple hours of new game experience with friends, and wind up going back in to lab the next day. You mention it to your buddies, and they're labbing it too. By no means a quality title, but an incredibly…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →CHAOS CODE -NEW SIGN OF CATASTROPHE- is a 2D fighting game developed by FK Digital and published by Arc System Works. It is an enhanced version of the original Chaos Code, adding new characters, balance adjustments, and online features. Gameplay follows traditional arcade-style combat with a strong emphasis on fast-paced combos and flexible character customization. Each fighter can equip different skill sets before battle, allowing players to tailor move lists to their preferred playstyle. The…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Recommended 8/10* Great looking pixel art, hot character designs, well animated, good controls and move sets, its a very decent fighting game with lots of unlockable art, cant complain at all.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Responsive fighting game with a good art style and a decent soundtrack. funny but still interesting character design , you get the special moves for the characters currently in the fight listed on each side of the screen , more fighting games should do this.
