This is a...very soft downvote. I'll probably play more, and there is a LOT of good to be had. The game STARTS amazingly. Great Adult Humor but Clunky Mechanics 🪓🦫 Chop Chop Inc. brings some fantastic double-entendre adult humor to the table and features a genuinely funny concept where absolutely everything—even stone and iron—is harvested simply by chopping trees. While the early game is highly entertaining, the experience unfortunately gets bogged down in the later stages. Unnecessarily tedious progression, poorly responding …

This is a fantastic game. I came to it - first the demo, then a free copy I won in a raffle - expecting to gently chop trees and make furniture. This is the sort of thing I find fun, so I was looking forward to it, and I got what I came for! What I was not expecting: everything else. It was fun for the first 6 or so hours when there was exploration and unlocking new stuff, now it seems like the rest of the game is just a huge boring menu grind. Craft 75x of this, craft X of this and X of that. You just select the craft from a big long menu, that does not seem organized, that you can't sort, that you can't search and then add materials to a bin and let it auto craft. Then you turn it in and go onto the next one. I've got 30+ missions where I need to do this for, its just…

I want to be clear, I like this game. However, due to the lack of proper save functionality, I have to rate this as no. I played for 11 hours, I misclicked new game on my next session and lost all progress. Starting over feels overwhelming and I don't know if I will. Hey NullRef team — really enjoying the game so far. Wanted to flag a UX issue that cost me a solid chunk of progress and could easily happen to other players too. What happened: I meant to click Load/Continue but hit New…

Autosave doesnt work. Played for like 45 minutes, quit the game and there is no save at all even though in settings it says "15 minutes" (and that's the lowest allowed interval). I guess I only lost 45 minutes of progress, but still. Clunky UI for consumables. You have to equip consumable, consume it and then equip back your axe for the same slot. Seriously? Kinda weird that some parts of the trees are auto-picked up when in proximity, and some you have to interact to pick up. "Dumb"…

The game starts fun and catchy, but becomes incrementally bad the longer you play it. By the endgame, there are multiple issues: - automated tree farming is painfully slow and works only for the one tree type at the same time without any possible updates; - nothing to spend money on. Combined with the previous issue, it feels like the devs didn't finish a big part of the endgame mechanic; - cooking is useless - the minor bonus it provides for a couple of minutes doesn't pay off the effort…

Good game but has glaring bugs. lost 8 hours of game play because I accidently hit new game instead of load. it doesn't tell you that it will delate your save or any warning. The quest system has some pretty bad bugs as well. I was stuck on find the mine shaft on two saves. Nothing I would do could trigger the quest to move forward. I'm pretty sad, but if they fix the bugs would be good game.

This is a tough one for me. Part 1 - The Game The game itself is good, well put together (so far) and visually pleasing. The mechanics are good also. Without going into too much detail, check out the demo, this is of the same quality (so far) as that. I'll do a better review once I can play it. Part 2 - The Reason I don't recommend There is no option to rebind keys, I painfully (unnatural keys for me to use) played through the demo in the hope the option to rebind would be in the finished…

Early game is AMAZING - ok gameplay, great humor and atmosphere, but as you go further into the game it starts feeling more and more rushed and unpolished - by the mid-game cracks really start to show, and once you start automating stuff game turns into an unpolished mess that's painful to play due to lack of quality of life features. I really hope it will get improved so I can come back to the game and change the review, but I can't really recommend it in its current state. The humor and all…

My autistic nephew likes how the game is user friendly, intuitive and straight forward to use with good comedy elements in places. The only thing he wasn't so keen on was the lack of replay value as he explained the game is a "start to finish story" type game, but despite that, he gave it a glowing review and said most people should give it a try.

Fun little game. It’s not super long, and the gameplay loop stays basically the same from start to finish, but it’s a solid time‑waster. I clocked around 19 hours and that was enough to 100% everything without feeling burnt out. If you enjoyed the demo, this is just more of that same charm, same chopping, same goofy progression. If you didn’t like the demo… well, it’s exactly the same experience stretched out, so nothing here is going to change your mind. Simple, repetitive, oddly…

Overall, a good cozy game about chopping wood and building furniture. It’s not meant to be a speed run; it's meant to be enjoyed and taken at your own pace. It also rewards exploration with playful artistic features. The art style is lovely. The game mechanics make sense. The automation in the late game may need some tuning, and some optional accessibility options may need to be considered. A quirky game with an interesting sense of humour. It's fun for the first 7 or 8 hours, but after exploring, getting some upgrades and meeting the characters, it becomes obvious that's the best part of the game and making stuff to sell or to complete contracts is the most tedious and boring part, and that unfortunately becomes way too common later on. Please fix the new game button, it's the first option so you may very well click it by reflex, there is ABSOLUTELY no warning, no pop-up, nothing to prevent you from messing up and clicking it, and it overrides your previous save immediately, rendering hours of in-game progress to nothing by 1 stupid misclick, no way to get your save back, sucks to suck

In a sea of games that overuse the tree chopping and crafting mechanic, the humor, story, characters and varied gameplay of this is a breath of fresh air. This game even has a mechanic that almost all the other ones overlook, and is the difference between boring tedious crafting and fun crafting: You actually PUT TOGETHER the thing you craft! What a simple concept but it makes all the difference! Even as a person that is completely tapped out on chopcraft games I really enjoyed this one!

Hilarious even. It gets silly, stays mostly unpredictable, and is just genuinely a good time. If you enjoy wacky writing, this is down your alley. Sadly, this also suffers in the later part of the game, where the story beats are far and wide in between, and certain story beats aren't resolved. Chester, Ducks,…

If you complete all the missions and achievements, you are looking at around 18 hours playtime. The missions are easy to complete and several secrets are scattered throughout the map. The work hall has no "maintain stock" crafting mode, which means you need to spend a lot of time interfacing with the terrible and unsorted inventory. The work hall inventory is also not connected with your own, furthering the same issues. Perhaps some of those things unlock later, but I feel like I've played enough. Chop Chop Inc. feels like it's aiming for the cozy market with it's gameplay and concept: you get fired from a soulless corporate job and go out into the woods to start your own business. I hate to give this game bad review but the "automation" ticked me off. It's not real automation, you still have to babysit it so it doesn't drain your resources. Say, I want to put in metal wood and have it make 10 ingots and 10 nails. And have it keep this amount without going over. This is currently not possible. It instead either eats up the metal wood or you have to set it up so it produces only 10 ingots and then clears the recipe, meaning you need to set it up again.

Right funny until it gets to automation, which is very buggy (crafter often get's stuck without any reason and you have to remove all recipes and pin them again). Since there is no filter- or find-system for the inventory and the crafting station it's a mess to find the right recipe.

I went in expecting lots of resource farming and there is that but its also hilarious and has more biomes that I thought it would. The skill progression is satisfying and the story is entertaining. I didn't think I would like it this much but I've already recommended it to several people.

You can most certainly 100% this game with none to little outside aid. Oh and the game reminds me of Banjo Kazooie a bit, and made me smirk'n chuckle. . .Poor Hamsters Dad. . .

This game clearly uses AI generated content for dialogue and even the game description on Steam is clearly written by AI. Lazy and gross. Should have seen it earlier in the little emojis on every bullet point but I was too blinded by the game looking somewhat fun. Refunding because they don't disclose any AI use on the store page.

I do like this game.. That's an important point. However, it is released not as an early access and with no roadmap - as a full release it just doesn't cut it.. The UI is bad at best. You have to scroll thru a list off like 100 items, with a UI that only shows 4-5 items at a time. The list isn't sorted in any way that makes sense and you can't search.. I mean, come on guys? (This is the sort of thing, you could have fixed in EA) The story is huge fun. I had a blast the first hour. Fanfares…

Very soft downvote. This game is a GRIND. If you're okay with doing the same thing over and over and over again for an hour then this is perfect for you but it's just not for me.

Good morning, bsky moots! I just noticed that my full version of Chop Chop Inc. got a new update on Steam for the testing branch so I've downloaded the update. Going to go test out the game to see if I can unlock all the achievements since I was quick enough to make a lot of coins in-game.

I'm not sure how to rate it. It WAS a lot of fun. Glitchy inputs on machines at times. I will say, for an $11 game it's worth it as is.

I don't leave reviews for many games, but this game had me laughing and grinning from ear to ear the entire time I was playing it. I loved how it never took itself seriously, and all of the silly shenanigans that happened. On top of the fact that the tree cutting itself was extremely satisfying and even the building system of crafting the furniture. I am sad that its 100% completed and I would absolutely do it all over again if I could.

Pros: - Good value for money: 100% achievement took me ~15 hrs, you could probably do it a bit quicker - The vibes and humour are good, makes for a relaxing and comfy game - The early-mid game is very fun and involving - constant stream of things to unlock, upgrades, buildings, very rewarding especially for the price tag Cons: - the late game became slow and frustrating at parts, there's some automation layers missing (cutting multiple trees, farming), and it became a bit of a grind to get the…

Really fantastic game for the first 10 hours or so. Funny (in an eye rolling way, but it's charming) and there's WAY more to the world than I expected. Exploration is great here. End game kinda sucks. Inventory and menus have no sort or search features which wouldn't be the worst if they were at least in alphabetical order, or any discernable order at all. Lots of QoL work to be done. All of that is forgivable except for one thing: No key rebinding at launch. There's just no excuse…
