Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 147 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (3,743 of 4,184 positive).
Players describe Circle Empires as a simple, casual RTS that is fun in short bursts. [1][2][3] Some reviewers note the game lacks content and becomes repetitive after a few hours. [1][4][5] A few players criticize the game for being shallow and having poor balance. [6][7][8]

There is very little variety and they sell variety that should be in the standard game with dlc. Lack of much variety and no different game modes will make you get bored of this game quickly. They also sell the Multiplayer mode, which is the only different and possibly fun mode, as a different game (Circle Empires Rivals). Instead, I thought of completing all the achievements. out of 82 achievements, 2 achievements …

6.5/10 Sweet little game, not much to do after 5-10 hours though. Casual goofy RTS game.

Circle Empires is a simple but surprisingly fun real-time strategy game. The whole map is made up of these small circular zones, each with its own resources or enemies. You start with one circle and slowly expand by capturing others, gathering food and gold, and building your army to take over the rest of the map. It’s a straightforward setup that ends up being more addictive than it looks. What I like most is how …

https://youtu.be/AauRRKXKQk4 Circle Empires is a simple strategy game in which you build your forces for conquest. The game might be a little old at this point, but I believe it is still fun to pick up and play a quick game. Which is the beauty of this game, is that it can be as short or long as you want depending on the difficulty you set and the amount of circles you want in your game. The 2nd nice thing is that …

A lot of different units and tactics you can develop to complete the game, it's very fun! It feels like it's repetitive after like 5-6 hours.

87% of the 147 Steam reviewers we collected recommend Circle Empires. The complaint that keeps coming up: lack of content and variety. Deal-breaker or nitpick?

Choose your hero, build your army and conquer the circles or hunt a dangerous monster. #indiegames #gaming #LettingOffSteam youtu.be/6Lesevaps-8
positive · AI labelView post →Probably the closest thing to Mega-Lo-Mania, since Mega-Lo-Mania and that alone makes it worth your attention. There is room for improvement however, such as, it would be nice to see which units you get access to when selecting a leader before the game starts, at higher difficulties, armies can get rather large which can make it difficult to click on something specific in a circle, such as when trying to loot a chest. While the general gameplay is "fast pace" at higher difficulties, the…

neutral · AI labelView post →Incredibly simple, incredibly basic, if this is your first ever "RTS" (if you can call it that), then you'll definitely have a bit of fun, and arguably I did have fun with it for a couple hours, but there's really nothing that you can pull from this game that you can't get much better in any other RTS. Personally I give this a 4/10, maybe a 5, it's nothing bad but absolutely lacking in every category.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Feels more like grinding on clock than strategy and it gets repetitive pretty fast.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Kinda fun, for about 30 minutes. Gets repetitive quick and bored me even quicker.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Circle Empires is a somewhat shallow RTS game with cartoony mobile app style art assets. Each RTS map you play through is made from a grid of circular nodes. You gather the resources on each node, build up an army, then send that to attack adjacent nodes. Conquer all the nodes and win the game. I can see why this is kinda popular as a sort of shallow, casual RTS game but there's a few things (including apparently what might be some unethical behaviour from the developer) that make me err…

neutral · AI labelView post →List of games I wanted to play that end up being functional but... bad/boring (in no particular order) 1. Circle Empires: Very boring gameplay loop with little challenge in standard or hard difficulty with the highest being next to impossible due to ai cheats. No setting makes the game interesting.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You know I've wanted to play this game for so long. Everyone and everything shows and says its really fun, but... reality is different from fiction. The base gameplay loop, difficulty, and modes are too short, too passive, and too easy to offer any real challenge or enjoyment. The only mode that offers any real challenge is Empire mode, but again. The standard difficulty is too easy to make this enjoyable and the higher difficulties give so many AI chest that the game becomes next to…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've played countless RTS games in my life, if i had to say favorites, i'd say that the Command & Conquer series and The Battle for the Middle-earth series would be my favorite two, even more than Age of Empires / Mythology as i'm not too much a fan of the pace they play compared to Command & Conquer Generals: Zero Hour, Red Alert 2 and Battle for Middle-earth. This one is quite original, it is simplistic and enjoyable, isn't as slow paced as the Age of Empires series but it's also not too…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really enjoy this game with the fan expansion and HD launcher. If you're looking for something less involved that scratches that same itch then Circle Empires is a fun game that takes a lot of DNA from HOMM3.
positive · AI labelView post →If into the likes of Warcraft and Starcraft - then Circle Empire is a fast paced and fun alternative. This one's cutely cartoonish fresher take on RTS with a non-existent learning curve. Probably also inspires those usually aren't into real time strategies. Games don't often take much time either; the game fits to be whooshed away during lunch breaks at work. Native Linux support is a plus from these wonderful fellow Estonians. One thing lacking though; Circle Empires doesn't have cloud saves!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →pretty fun for a few hours
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Summary: 6/10 - A mini-RTS that fails in basic areas like balance and AI with exploits everywhere Circle empires feels like an attempt to throw things together and see what sticks. The basic circles can have one to four entrances which can be fortified. Towers can support this while workers harvest resources. As formulaic as the symmetric maps are as formulaic is the meta. Get bank for gold, start using heavy cavalry. Switch to counter units for harder problems on higher difficulties (like…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like the concept, but the balance feels off in this game. The first few levels of difficulty are brain dead easy and then 4 of the big goblin units took out my entire army while taking fire from bowmen and multiple towers, I don't understand what I was supposed to do since they don't seem to take damage from anything I had access to, and as far as I can tell, there is no in game explanation for weakness and typing. Also the building UI kept swapping between menus on its own while I was…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →[Circle Empires] is one of the greatest modern RTS games ever made, where do i even start? Well at the beginning is a good place, I got [Circle Empires] around when it first game out, and it was wonderful fantastic, but as time went on, the developer added more and more to the game. The 2nd game is titled [Circle Empires Rivals] and it is a pretty much upgrade onto the base game. Certain things like towers gaining xp, and more units gaining xp and more diverse unit compositions make the 2nd…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →- 6.8/10 - 11 hours to complete the portions of the game I wanted to. - Its reminds me of Age of Empires w/ simpler set up and tactics which I actually really liked. - Quick, fun, and you play against the computer. - It was a very pick up and put down game for me, which I really appreciated. - Looking forward to circle empires 2

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It might be fun for 2 hours, no more. Even at deep discount, I'm not sure it makes sense trying this, as those 2 hours are not even amazing. The difficulties are not very interesting, the control you have over stuff is annoyingly little. I guess you can bang off a good bit of achievements.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Casual fun although brutally hard on the high difficulty settings.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a simple RTS with a bit of content, this is the game you would play when you wanted to spend like an hour just playing an RTS that doesn't require a spreadsheet and 4 hours to play a game (looking at you C&C, starcraft, etc.). Units have depth to them depending on the commander, some add challenge some have powerful functions when taking circles over. No matter your skill level either beginner or expert, there is something for everyone here, but if you are looking for an in depth…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Extremely disappointed with the final version of the game. I've played a demo of this game, before it's release, ~2017. I just remembered that this game existed, and hey! here we are. I found the game on steam and bought it, cool. But, not even the nostalgia of about ~6 years made me enjoy this. I think that the barebones version from the demo was much more fun, than the final product. It's just boring. Gameplay wise I feel like the game took the completely wrong direction. UX is clunky…

neutral · AI labelView post →Circle Empires is a decent little RTS. Easy mode is quite acceptable to those who usually prefer turn-based (like me), but harder difficulty settings will be sufficient for those who generally like RTS. I won't say for RTS maniacs, since that is beyond my ability to comprehend. Definitely worth a sale price, & I'd say it passes the cappucino test with flying colors even at full price. YMMV. Now to buy the DLC with unicorns, (the main reason I even considered an RTS in the first place :D)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is probably my favorite cheap time waster. For $2.00 (on sale) you get a charming and suprisingly complex strategy game. There are like 3 game modes, each with a lot of customization, and over a dozen generals with slightly different bonuses and debuffs. I wouldn't say it is worth the full $9.00, but for ~$2.00 on sale, you are getting a ton of value. 8/10 I like spamming goblins :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game, high replay value
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Circle Empires is an ambitious real-time strategy game developed by Midoki and published by Versus Evil that challenges players to build and expand their empires in a unique circular world. Combining elements of classic 4X strategy with innovative gameplay mechanics, it offers a fresh take on empire-building and warfare. The game’s defining feature is its circular map layout, which significantly alters traditional strategic thinking and adds a fascinating layer of complexity to exploration,…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →#SteamNextFest Day 2 is done! Here are my thoughts! Undusted: Short and sweet, and very heartfelt! Star Birds: I love a good puzzle game and the story is pretty cute and light! Circle Empires 2: I haven't played the first one but I do like this one. I feel like I'm going to be like this one alot
positive · AI labelView post →played it for a while but then i farted and it stinky so no no
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It has the basics of circle-based territory capture RTS, resources, attacking units, defense facilities, etc. There are not many choices, so the play time is short and it's easy to play. You can move around, flank, scavenge, etc., but it's basically a game of quantity. Recommended for those who don't have much time. Please do not expect the AI to be too intelligent.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I bought this 80% off and I feel scammed. Quick question, did you completely throw your sense of balance out the window? I love veterancy in RTS games, it's my favorite mechanic, but having the cheapest, most basic units go up from 5 to 50 damage in two levels is insane. There's unlockable leaders but none of them have unique units, just different bonuses. Micromanagement is hell, though against the CPU it's super easy to just kite them so that all the ranged enemies miss their shots…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good but quite short!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While it's not exactly a good game, I had a lot of fun with [Heroes of Annihilated Empires](https://store.steampowered.com/app/4800/Heroes_of_Annihilated_Empires/) and enjoyed it even though parts of it can be difficult or clunky and I couldn't even finish it. It was kind of like high fantasy RPG RTS. The [Dungeons](https://store.steampowered.com/publisher/kalypso/list/34193/) series is fun. Some might not call [Mindustry](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1127400/Mindustry/) an RTS, but…
neutral · AI labelView post →It's an interesting game. It doesn't take too much time to cultivate. It's quite cheap.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quite a nice little game, not sure if it's worth full price, but close and certainly would if a bit more content was added. Easy is easy....but once you unlock and play on hard and higher difficulties, and larger maps, they will not play nice with you and it can be VERY challenging. Recommended for sure....
