neutral · AI labelView post →1981. We haven't yet moved to Edinburgh, but we're visiting family there. Obviously we take advantage of the chance to go to the cinema and end up going to watch this new film just out, Clash of the Titans. It's magical. I'm 10 years old, and I've never seen anything like it. Still haven't. <more>

positive · AI labelView post →My first Maggie Smith film was Clash of the Titans, but the first time I think she made an impression was Room with a View. Whatever she was in, she was a delight.

negative · AI labelView post →This *is not* the artists’ fault, it’s entirely a studio issue and choice. You can make phenomenal effects if you want to spend the time, the time, oh, also the time, and the money on it. And they don’t. I would rather watch a Harryhausen movie like the 80s CLASH OF THE TITANS.

neutral · AI labelView post →I cant tell if its clickbait or just Gen Z nostalgia when I go on video platforms and see clips of movies like 2010's Clash of the Titans that say "Back then this was "average," today its peak cinema." Because there are many movies from this year alone I would argue are better than that film. 😂

positive · AI labelView post →Remember in the movie, “Clash of the Titans,” when Zeus says, “Release the Kraken?” Well, that will be Trump after his inauguration and he will seek revenge on many. Biden NEEDS to issue preemptive pardons. We are dealing with a malignant narcissistic sociopath here. People need protection.

Inspiring my love of monsters and mythology, heroism and fantasy. Harryhausen is spoken with reverence in our household. #ClashoftheTitans #ReleasetheKraken #Mattel
positive · AI labelView post →Disney’s Hercules, aside from the wild liberties it takes with mythology, is basically a Superman movie. Ray Harryhausen’s efforts are technically impressive snoozers; the 2010 Clash Of The Titans remake is the loud, overproduced sort of bad

neutral · AI labelView post →I am friends with someone who was pretty involved in that big wave of stereo madness and 3D conversion years ago. There is huge range in quality for stereo conversion depending on how much the director cares and the studio is willing to spend. Fun fact, Clash of the Titans (2010) was such a shitty, low budget conversion that "release the kraken" was an industry term for, "this is a shit, rushed, cheap job." There's a lot of variables unique to stereo filming and most directors don't understand…

As much as I enjoy this telling of the story of Perseus, I still think Medusa got a bad deal. ☝️🤨-She was rightfully protecting her home.
positive · AI labelView post →8. I feel like many Americans were robbed because their childhood did not include OROCHI, THE EIGHT-HEADED DRAGON (1994). That movie was crazy in all the right ways. Like somebody watched CLASH OF THE TITANS and said "I can rig eight flamethrowers together" and DID.

neutral · AI labelView post →I'm absolutely fuming. Just watched the 1981 film Clash of the Titans and they cast Laurence Olivier as Zeus, the ruler of the gods. Zeus was Greek! It's literally in the name, Greek Gods! Olivier is a white British man! Don't they care for historical accuracy at all?
negative · AI labelView post →The 80s had a lot of fantasy and occult themes going on. There was the “Satanic Panic” that the religious right brewed up as a means of social control. Dungeons and Dragons was vilified (see _Mazes and Monsters_ starring Tom Hanks). Heavy Metal—which leaned into mythical themes—was also targeted. And what the right tries to push down naturally gains interest in a rebellious way. Fantasy movies had a bit of a heyday. _Conan the Barbarian_, _Clash of the Titans_, _Never Ending Story_, _Princess…
