What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 194 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (281 of 302 positive).
Players praise the game's unique blend of puzzle-solving and train operation. [1][2][3] Many find the puzzles enjoyable but not overly difficult. [4][5][6] Some reviewers note the game is short, with playtimes around two hours. [4][7][8]

I Really wish there was a "Maybe" option when it comes to steam reviews. As I actually like it, however it didn't live up to the mechanics it had put forth. For a simple contained story game it is fantastic. But for a "Action adventure puzzler" it is bare bones. I was so excited when I saw the premise. "I get to be a conductor of a cute little engine while fending off bad guys!? sign me up!" But instead it was, …

Sooooooo, Conductor! The second VR game by Overflow (after Abode) is a cracking little puzzler. Without spoiling too much, the plot is roughly this: "You're on the run from a group of people who refer to you by your "subject" number. Before you is a steam locomotive. Go!" Driving the train is an absolute joy, from tossing coal into the furnace and lighting it, to the iconic whistle (Toot toot!). Conductor is …

I thought this was really good, a much better game than abode 1 & 2 by the same developer. The game takes place a night which really adds to the atmosphere. I liked the mechanic of having to pilot a steam train to different locations where you have to solve puzzles to enable you to continue. The only negative is the locomotion. teleport is the only form of movement and turning is snap turn only. Overall, A unique …

Conductor is a curious little game. You drive a small steam train from station to station and solve puzzles to clear the obstacles on the track. The game is set at night and you can't see much beyond your immediate surroundings which makes everything feel quite oppressive. Interactions can feel a little bit glitchy and there was one section where you have to enter a code but it didn't seem to accept it until I …

My favorite VR puzzle game hands down First off - if you want to play with the music from the trailer, turn the radio on attached to the train AND THEN fidget with the radio's antenna to get the right signal. I didn't realize this until the end, and would've been nice to play with that music throughout the game (nobody's fault but my own there). Overall a very fun and puzzling game with the puzzles being just …

In the game he's mentoring Barry the Quokka for when he retires. I like to think Barry has some new tricks to teach the old dog himself before retirement! #nsfw

positive · AI labelView post →Can't say that I played this game for a long period of time as this review is being pushed out after my first sitting but I can say that I love it with an oldish cartoony vibe that pictures can not do justice, for running it on the Valve index I can report no problems so far with how it runs yet this may change for you. The combat is pretty good as you can't just teleport away at all times and requires you to move your head around and with the slow projectiles it gives you more than enough…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →An interesting and atmospheric adventure game that involves driving a train between various puzzles. My overall experince with this game is fairly good, but I came out of it sour because there are bugs, obnoxious physics andannoying mechanics that add nothing to the game. I honestly think the train travel is completely pointless, it's a gimmick that only serves to annoy the player. It certainly gives you a goal; clear the path for your train. This is a good objective except for the fact that…

And I was happy to see my progress carry over so easily! If you're looking for a game that is fun to play for an hour or so, and you can introduce your friends to when they come over, Conductor is what you're looking for. :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Quite fun little game enjoyed it (only thing that i wish for that i could use controller to turn around) i liked puzzles they was quite easy but fun to do!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good puzzle game with a bit of a story and an eerie atmosphere. Most puzzles were easy to medium difficulty. I got stuck 3 times and checked out a walkthrough to progress. It took me 2.5 hours to complete. Only teleport movement but that’s not an issue for me.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have very mixed feeling about this game. The mechanics and puzzles are fine, the ambiance is great, BUT there are two big issues : - huge performance/graphic issues, I'm having really important stutters that make the game not enjoyable to play at all - physics engine issues, sometimes the world stays broken after you restart after a collision, sometimes items in your g-gun inventory get lost under the ground... and the only way to fix this is to save, back to menu, and restart (and lose some…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very clever game that combines standard escape the room puzzles with a unique, continually changing setting. Definitely worth $10, especially if you buy the combo with Abode.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →15.) I expected to like the Conductor when I started this game but Snatcher from A Hat in Time hit soooo much harder
neutral · AI labelView post →They are the most powerful creatures in the setting, so if you’re thinking about engaging them in combat, I’d advise you to think twice! As a Conductor, I’ve absolutely loved portraying these types of characters, especially since each Noble Demon has a specific obsession that drives their actions.

neutral · AI labelView post →This game is an hour long and is worth maybe $5 at most. It is an interesting concept, but that is all it can be with an hour play length and no time to develop into something greater. The VR support is weak relying on you using the triggers for everything, no grip buttons; and you have to teleport to move, no smooth locomotion. The puzzles range from brain dead to infuriating. Making me want to look up an answer for the vague backwards logic their world was operating under. I would love to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I for some reason was expecting more from this game. I found movement a bit wonky and several time I ended up inside objects. While I was clueless what to do I did figure things out and progress but I just didn't find the game fun. I also did not like it being night with bad lighting that you can't even take your lantern with you to see better.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finally got around to playing this on Infinity. Puzzles aren't very polished and get less inspiring the further you progress, some very clunky with game breaking issues, lighting is not good, and no smooth locomotion or snap turning, teleport only. Smooth locomotion could have helped this game quite a bit and the devs were considering it a while back, but it never happened. Playing this game was not really time well spent.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Beaten - 3 Hours A VR game where your character escaped from....somewhere and takes a train (locomotive) to freedom. You have to solve puzzles along the way that involve clearing the tracks. Pretty fun! As with a lot of VR games, it is pretty short, but it is pretty fun!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good but short, I finished it in 112 minutes. Pick it up on sale.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played on HTC Vive Pro/Vive wands 1.0/RTX2060Super. Absolutely incredible, this is a VR game that should not be missing from your library if you love (simple) puzzles/adventure. I love the stylized graphics, simple and yet perfect for VR. I like the puzzles, although not very hard, so if you like difficult puzzles you're out of luck. It is a bit short though, it took me about 2 hours, and that was including restarting the game three times, first time was at the windmill because a specific item…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a nice little adventure game with a somewhat dark and puzzling atmosphere, despite its "cute" low-poly look. Some of the VR mechanics feel a bit dated in 2021, but it still plays well and there is a gravity gun - what more could anyone want? The physics-based environmental puzzles work well and are challenging without being too much of a headache. But especially riding your little train through the night really is a very interesting sensation. At times, I had the feeling I can feel the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →All the same problems as Abode 1. - No Index support (it runs, but the controllers don't match) - Things randomly fall out of your hands while you're holding them - Clicking the trigger on things to interact with them is extremely fiddly - Motion sickness - No teleport - Not able to flick turn. As far as I can tell, it's not possible to turn at all so you get tangled in the cable.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played with WMR Conductor is an action/adventure puzzle game that takes almost exactly two hours to complete. These two hours are a delightful experience for anyone who likes to explore, analyze, and problem solve. More specifically during the two hours players will engage in three main types of activities including solving puzzles, operating a train, and light combat. The first thing I would like to address is that there are only two options in the setting menu - volume controls and a…

This is a fun puzzle game with story elements. I did get frustrated on what to do when I first tried this game. I could see using a tutorial area to explain what you can do in the game. I could also be said that figuring out what you can do is part of the game. I purchased both Abode and Conductor in a bundle when they were on sale. In my opinion, that is best way to buy…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short and sweet. Interesting puzzles tied together by conducting a train, which I loved. Understanding how the train works, feeding the furnace, releasing pressure, blowing the whistle - it all gives you a sense of ownership and presence in the world that work great in VR, but I've rarely found. The puzzles themselves are challenging enough without overstaying their welcome. I had a bit of trouble with one of them (the rotating tracks) . I still don't know exactly how it worked, but managed…
