Players praise Cook-Out as a fun VR cooking game similar to Overcooked. [1][2][3] Some reviewers note the game is best enjoyed with friends due to chaotic multiplayer. [4][5][6] A few players criticize the game for repetitive gameplay and privacy concerns. [7][8][9]

As a huge fan of the Overcooked series, I really, REALLY wanted to love this game. And at first, my wife and I did. The first few worlds, you very much get that feeling that this is going to be "Overcooked" in VR, and it's a lot of fun trying to 3 star all the levels. Unfortunately, then you realize that this one, single mechanic is the entire game. Forever. Once you've added the concept of washing plates and …

So I bought this looking for more mp game to play with friends in VR. Looked like a VR like Overcooked style game. And oh man, this is easily some of the most fun I have ever had playing in VR with friends. It's an absolute blast. Not only is it incredibly fun but it's also a very well made game. The art style is great, the performance is great. It's just a great game all around. I can't fin 1 negative thing to say …

Overcooked in VR but funnier. Laughed so hard with my friend. Definitely a must have :)

Would be a really great game if the multiplayer wasn't filled with exclusively 4-9 year olds. So I guess only get it if you have others to play it with.

First Blaston, and now this? Resolution games are the new kings of VR design. It's Overcooked, but in VR - flailing around trying to assemble sandwiches as fast as possible. Where as the cooperative element in Overcooked involved movement and navigation, the cooperative element in Cook Out comes from each player only having access to four of the ingredients- -assuming you stick to your station. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The privacy policy was unacceptable. It says some of the data they've transferred is network activity. It says some of the parties they've transferred to are marketing agencies. The game will not allow you to play without the additional legal concessions. Would not recommend this company.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Am I considering driving like 45 minutes to the nearest Cook-Out tomorrow to summon good vibes for Game 5? Idk, you tell me.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I expected an VR version of Overcooked, and generally, it hits that mark. However, if you expect to do a variety of things - I'm afraid you'll end up disappointed, like I was. I was looking forward to doing a variety of (silly) tasks to make this a fun experience, but it was quite clear from the get-go that it wouldn't really entail a whole lot more than sitting there and mashing a knife onto the food. Using the Valve Index controllers, I had a hard time even chopping the food, because the…

neutral · AI labelView post →Got this game as part of a bundle. At the moment, it crashes within a few seconds of loading, and I do not appear to be the only one having this problem. I have not yet gotten past the terms and conditions screen. If I ever manage to play it, I will update this review.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Minor Improvements" Update just reset all of my progress and all items I had worked to unlock. Happened to my friends as well. How was that not tested?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game in VR is quite fun. The storyline and end game content can cause a serious loss of real time, which is great! However, I'm going to list some pros and cons to this game and the community within it: PROS The game has wonderful customization, which has unlocks both from the story and the endless mode. Food orders are different for every zone, which adds variety to the game-play. Matchmaking has a quick search and a list, as well as the ability to create your own private…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Imagine Overcooked but VR aaaaand you can throw knives at your teammates! Pog 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Originally i had issues getting this working but the Devs have fixed everything! This game looks and feels great and I cant wait to play it in co-op. Would recommend!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best VR titles for people that are new to virtual reality or get motion sickness from headsets. Cook out is multiplayer up to 4 people. Admittedly, this is one of the few titles that actually is in fact better on stand alone Quest, due to the option for using your personalized Quest avatar as your character rather than one of the animal character options. Even better if you have a Quest Pro, as this title supports native face tracking on headsets that can support it. Cook out starts…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Take the boys for a Char-Grill shake and they’re never leaving! Which reminds me … I stopped at Cook Out on Capital after a game a few weeks ago. I knew the cheesecake shakes had chunks of cheesecake in them, but it was fun to see the proof.
neutral · AI labelView post →I've only played an hour but this is great fun and the multiplayer isn't completely ruined by screaming kids like games of its kind (I'm looking at you Among Us VR!) Its a mix of overcooked and those time management games that were really popular on tablets and phones when they first came out. Solo play is also good, with a literal "bot" helping you instead of a human player. Challenging too - it's not meant to be easy ! Playing on Valve Index and Windows 11 - no problems at all! 8/10…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The sit-in Cook-Out is a game changer.
neutral · AI labelView post →I was surprised there wasn't a lot of interactivity with the food here. You can "chop" ingredients - which really just amounts to waggling a knife over them a few times and then *POOF*, your loaf of bread has turned into a slice of bread. You can put ingredients onto a plate You can put the plate onto a serving platform You can squeeze sauce I didn't get very far, but as far as I can tell, that's really all the core gameplay amounts to. It just wasn't really fun for me. Perhaps it would be…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →quite boring by self but if you have mates def cop it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Stop comparing this to Overcooked! Yes, they are both coop cooking games, but Overcooked is about beating tons of different levels/kitchens by smartly coordinating tasks between players. Cook-Out on the other hand is only a single kitchen and almost designed for players to work independently! The Good Graphics are nice and atmospheric. The avatars are gorgeous and the presence of other players is excellent. Object interactions in general are well done and the gameplay loop is easy to get into…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's overcooked in VR, if you enjoyed overcooked you'll enjoy this game. The multiplayer can be enjoyable or chaotic. I was constantly paired with neurotic kids throwing food all over the place and constantly kicking me from their sessions for no reason. Anyway, it's still fun. You receive an order, you make food, you serve food. Gameplay can be a little bit lackluster since it's incredibly simple. You have a knife, you use the same chopping motion for every ingredient, you place chopped food…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Literally unable to play the game. I'm using an oculus quest 2 and could not pick up items. My brother with a rift s was also unable to pick stuff up.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I was so looking forward to this game and I am really enjoying the art-style, the polish and the theme. However if you want a cooking/sim/management game, this game ain't it. This is a proper Overcooked experience on VR. But the problem is, overcooked style game ain't fun playing with strangers, and not everyone around me owns enough VR to play it with 3-4 ppl. So far on Online mode, people are trolling the game and no one is doing their tasks. And on single, its almost impossible to keep up…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Resolution games has yet again produced a perfectly polished, fun, multiplayer VR title with Cook-Out. The gameplay is simple enough that even non-gamers and little kids should be able to pick it up in seconds, however if you are striving to get 3 stars on every level you're in for an intense experience! Keeping up with orders can often feel like you're on an episode of Hell's Kitchen and cooperation with your fellow cooks is vital. Definitely great with friends, but it's also fun to meet new…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Heavy weapons guy is happy. tnx for the fast fix. Engineer: Heavy… How do I make SANDVICH? Heavy: All you have to do is add a cup of FLOUR! Add it to the MIX! Now just take a little something sweet, not sour! A bit of salt, just a PINCH! Baking these treats is such a SINCH! A teaspoon of BOLOGNA! Add a little more, and you COUNT TO FOUR! And you NEVER get your FILLA! SANDVICH! So moist and delicious… SANDVICH! I’m COMING FOR YOU! SANDVICH! Sandvich, Sandvich, SANDVIIIIIICH!

neutral · AI labelView post →no sex 😔😔😔😔😔😔
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game starts really cool but then turns into an absurdly unrealistic never-ending recipe simulator. Ketchup over mayo over onion over salt over grilled onion over ketchup over salt over mayo... I mean, what kinda stupid sandwich is that? This is just a poor game design just to make it more difficult.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best cooking VR game I have ever played. Chef Boyardee would be so proud of me. To quote "Anyone can cook, but only the fearless can be great."
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best co-op VR game out there by far. Same chaos as Overcooked, but now I can visibly shake a knife at my teammates to encourage them :) Really hoping the devs make some new content for this game, or even a sequel.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My absolute favorite VR game! So so so underrated, and it's such a good time. You'll love it even more if you enjoyed Overcooked because it's quite similar! It initially upsets me to see the underwhelming numbers of players playing on steam but a good chunk of them play on Quest. If you've played Overcooked it's self-explanatory how this game plays, but it's a fast paced cooking game about making sandwiches. It's quite in-depth with needing to chop your food, ordering the ingredients correctly,…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun multiplayer for up to 4 people with a good difficulty incline . Pretty much overcooked in vr, highly recommended.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →SO MUCH CHOPPING!! Fun game with friends! Mechanics all work well, no issues with CrossPlay. Can get quite chaotic with frantic searching for the right plate. Amusing player avatars and NPC voices. ALL MY CURATED VR REVIEWS: [url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/4494603/]US420 Gamers
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TL;DR : All in all, the game works and can definitely be a bit of fun to play. Buy it on sale. ---- I bought this game from Humble Bundle with a few other VR games and loaded it up to give a shot. It's a neat enough game, but the multiplayer aspect with randoms is beyond hit-or-miss. You'll either be grouped up with the rare handful of actual adults, or you'll be condemned to the lobby full of literal children who are just kind of doing whatever they feel like doing. There's not too much…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →stressful but fun, i suggest it. but like sometimes im chopping something and it just gets yeeted.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Alright, With the small time i have spent on this game, I can say its genuinely fun. The game had me the moment the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ RAT ordered a McNutt sandwich. Bread with double mayo.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →a really fun vr game with friends. even if you dont have friends it can be a fun experience still
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Lot's of fun! The kids love it)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You ever wanted to work at Subway and not get paid?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Only if the ads the rest of the game are for Food Lion, Bojangles, Cheerwine, and Cook Out.
neutral · AI labelView post →Just saw the Bojangles ad at the NC Courage game and now I want Bojangles Bojangles and Cook Out are the only things I miss about living in the South
neutral · AI labelView post →It's pretty mid. Somewhat fun for a short while but the UI is really annoying to use and the gameplay never progresses much, you just make sandwiches forever. Maybe worth it at a steep discount and only if you have friends to play with.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cook-Out is an absolute blast—fast, fun, and a little chaotic in the best way. The energy behind the counter seriously feels like a real-life version of Overcooked, with the team juggling orders at lightning speed and still getting everything right. Despite the hustle, the food comes out hot, tasty, and super satisfying every time. If you love great comfort food served with high-energy teamwork, Cook-Out totally delivers. 🍔🔥
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I waited a half hour in the line for the BBQ grand. My wife and I are still hungry but holding on for Cook Out after (given the pace this game is going) might be worth it.
neutral · AI labelView post →DO YOU LIKE CHAOS? YES? JUST GET IT!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun and hectic cooperative game! Definitely shines way more in multiplayer than solo, but has a very "overcooked" vibe as far as how hectic and tricky it can be in later stages, or when striving for that perfect score. Love it!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overcooked but in VR! Best played with 4 players for maximum mayhem
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →actually this is high quality
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have Cook Out: A Sandwich Tale for my Quest 2. But, the graphics are even better when playing through Steam VR! However, the hand tracking for me is way off. The hands are rotated up almost 45 degrees making it near impossible to chop anything. I don't have this issue with other games on Steam VR: only this one. Heartbreaker - I love this game so much. I hope there is a fix soon. When there is, I will re-purchase the game happily!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →me and my mate bought this game as a joke at first planning to refund it after trying it but the game turned to be a really really fun game and i really recommend buying it with a pal because it is very fun
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →THIS IS THE BEST GAME EVER.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Odd but fun. Reminds me of diner dash, only you're making the food. Fast paced game play keeps you on your toes. As challenging as it is, it can be rather difficult if you don't have a full group to play with. Would be nice if the difficulty of the levels would be scaled based on how many people are in the lobby, but thats just me. I approve of this one.
