Ngl, the visual clarity is terrible. I tried all DLSS modes, as well as native, with everything on Ultra, and it still looks poor. My GPU is also at 100% usage, so it is not a GPU issue. There is definitely something wrong with this game. It has a lot of potential, but it needs some TLC, plox. My specs are not the issue, and FPS was not the issue either. I haven’t felt this way since Skyrim. I’m 12hrs into the game, at the time of this post, and I still have no desire to leave the starting town. Now that I have an unhealthy amount of time in the game this early on, I think its a good time to leave a review on my experience so far. Players who liked Crimson Desert Enhanced talk about beautiful world and graphics that rival Skyrim; those who didn't talk about slow pace and complex controls can be off-putting initially. Which matters more to you?

Critics, per Wikipedia

According to the review aggregator website Metacritic, Crimson Desert received "generally favorable reviews". Destructoid found the game addictive, albeit with some rough edges, calling it "impossible to put down once you get going". Press Start was pleasantly surprised, acknowledging it as "imperfect" yet "impressive enough to be within striking distance of the juggernauts of [the] genre." Finding it a "fascinating journey" and a "jack of all trades", PC Gamer praised the game's scale, though acknowledged an imbalance of quality in some areas. Some critics were able to find enjoyment in some aspects but were let down by others, labelled as "laser-targeted at the current demands of the…

This is a classic example of one game suffering from the similar aspects that other games are praised for. It's clear that PA took inspiration from other games - it really feels like RDR2 in many ways but in a fantasy universe, and Kliff is no harder or more frustrating to control than Arthur, the base-systems are no more complex or confusing or clunky on the controller than RDR2 and the world is as beautiful or more. Yet this game gets slammed for those things, whereas RDR2 is a 90+ game.…

This game reminds me of how games used to be before monetization took over the gaming world. The game is not perfect, but it is insanely fun and very easy to lose track of time while playing. There are a ton of systems in this game. Not all of them are perfect, but they are all enjoyable and they all add to the overall experience rather than feeling like filler. The combat, which is clearly the main focus of the game, is incredible. You can fight unarmed, use elemental abilities, use…

Im convinced gaming has entered an era where studios seek to draw people in with only surficial characteristics - the most delicious candy you've ever seen - just to find out after 5 minutes of sucking on said candy that its filled with mud. PROS: 1. This game has a breathtaking map that rivals skyrim. The fidelity and graphics of the game make your PC run hard, but it takes a step towards a level of realism not yet experienced. Pure eye-candy, and gorgeous in its entirety. 2. Some of…

Reviewers made this game seem like it's full of bloat and padding. So far, all I've done is explore this world in complete awe, the game runs, plays, and looks amazingly well. It's slow, deliberately so, similarly to how it was in RDR2, but once you get the hang out of its controls, it turns into an incredible experience. The simple sheer sense of scale is insane... this is a game that is demanding though, you have to devote time to it, pay attention to the dialogs, take in the world. This…

Might be the most overblown criticism I've seen to date. This game is awesome. Keep the following in mind and you won't get your undies in a twist: - You will have to endure pressing 2 buttons instead of 1 to pick up an item or interact with something. No, you don't have to press 2 buttons to jump. You can press 2 buttons if you want to 'precise' jump. You don't have to 'tap' the sprint button to run. Tapping toggles your speed. 'Max' speed sprinting *does* require a short bit of tapping…

It has some real pros: + An incredibly beautiful world (aesthetically, perhaps the best I've ever seen); + A variety of mechanics, such as camp management, trading, fishing, cooking, gambling, puzzles, and much more; + Great attention to detail in the world's interactions; every small action is accompanied by contextual animation, and the animations themselves are superb; +…

Crimson Desert is the kind of game that feels like it was designed by someone who said “What if everything happened at once?” and then never took their foot off the gas. Several hours in, I’m convinced the chaos is the point and honestly, it’s working. Pywel doesn’t feel like a map. It feels like a place that is actively trying to interrupt you. You set out to do one thing, and suddenly you are: - breaking up a roadside execution - wrestling a bear - getting dragged into a brawl…

After 60 hours in Crimson Desert, I’ve seen enough of the game to form a solid opinion. At the beginning, the experience was honestly a bit rough. The mechanics feel complicated at first, and the early missions can be somewhat boring while the game slowly introduces its systems. The main character introduction also didn’t hook me immediately. For the first few hours, I wasn’t completely convinced. However, once you start understanding the mechanics, the game opens up massively. The world…

I'm a little torn. I can see why some people like this game, and I do enjoy certain parts of it. The good: The combat and action is decent and enjoyable. The game is very pretty and the world is neat. Some of the boss fights have been pretty cool. Exploring the world is nice and they have some pretty neat items/loot in the game. I wanted to like this game, but I fell off after 30 hours. I had heard that the exploration was incredible, but I did not find that to be the case. Instead I would wander around and occasionally found a small alcove behind a waterfall with a treasure chest in it, or a short janky puzzle that was straight forward to figure out, but a pain in the butt to execute, or a combat area, which means enemies spawn continuously as you mindlessly take them down until the progress bar goes all the way down…

The game has a very slow pace — you need to take your time and savor it yourself to truly understand how interesting it is. This has to be one of the most frustating games i've ever played. Throughout the whole time playing, i was bewildered by the amount and frequency of nonsensical design decisions in almost every aspect of the game. There's a lot of ambitious ideas, but almost every one of them feels half baked. Every few quests it introduces some new mechanic, barely explains it, and then expects you to figure it out through trial and error. Instead of building on existing systems, it constantly throws gimmicks…

This is one of the first video games where I launched it and thought to myself "Wow, this is an actual next gen experience". 10/10 — My Game of the Year This is easily the game I’ve enjoyed the most this year. The open world is probably my favorite part. There’s just so much to explore, and I kept getting distracted by random things on the way to whatever I was actually supposed to be doing. The game has a slower pace, but it more than makes up for it with stunning visuals. Every scene is beautifully crafted. I didn’t go in expecting much from the story, but the combat system really stands out and is what makes the game worth playing My only real issue is with the character’s movement. I was sorely wrong. This is not a game of the year. This a game of the decade, a game of the generation. A milestone that any open-world game will be measured against for years. It is hard to explain how good Crimson Desert is in simple words. Just try to remember that first time you played Skyrim and…

First of all, this game isn’t for everyone, you’ll either love it or hate it, its very polarizing. If you’re looking for a more linear, cinematic, story driven campaign, Crimson Desert might not be for you. Personally, I love it so much. It delivers exactly what I expect from an open-world game that offers sense of adventure, freedom, mystery, "What Ifs" scenario and curiosity, all backed by great attention to detail and mechanism that really enhances immersion. It’s easy to get completely…

The graphics and performance are seriously impressive, and the huge map is packed with tons of things to do. Gameplay feels amazing overall, though the controls can take a bit of time to get used to. The story is on the weaker side, but the sheer variety in activities and mechanics more than makes up for it. Definitely a game that keeps you busy in a good way.

As you can see, Guys, I've played this game for almost 400 hours, and I can honestly say that the open world is too ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good. It's comparable to Zelda and ER, and while some of the scenarios are repetitive, they don't effect the game's enjoyment. The plot is also excellent and if i start talking about how good the combat is i wont stop. I highly recommended it.

CRIMSON DESERT This game is simply spectacular, it impresses right from the start with gorgeous, highly detailed visuals and a world full of life, thanks to its rich and diverse fauna. The map is vast, filled with unique regions and an incredible amount of things to do, from missions and side activities to free exploration and hidden challenges. The puzzles are one of the game’s highlights, you’ll find them both on the ground and in the sky, inside the Abyss, and many of them are…

⭐ **CRIMSON DESERT ENHANCED — REVIEW** ⭐ **My Rating: 8.7/10** 🔥 Could be a 10 out of 10 if complaints are fixed. Mostly QOL. Crimson Desert Enhanced is one of those games that tries to do almost everything — massive open world, cinematic story, brutal combat, exploration, mounts, huge battles, side activities, boss fights, progression systems, and an almost ridiculous amount of content. The Enhanced update made the game noticeably better, especially when it comes to the story and overall…

This is a kind of a quick preliminary review, because I sincerely think it isn't actually possible for anyone to accurately review the game properly yet - the sheer scope of this project is genuinely staggering. What I have seen so far is extremely impressive, and it feels like the real Dragon's Dogma 2 Itsuno never managed to manifest, in my mind. However, I want to point out that that this game is extremely slow-burn to the point that it makes other similar slow-burn experiences like Red…

I have to say this is a very good game with a lot of potential that wasn’t used as well as it should have been. And even though it’s not a masterpiece like Skyrim or Witcher, fans of medieval fantasy RPGs will still be able to have fun for many hours.. and get pretty frustrated too. To start, I have to praise the graphics, environments and overall atmosphere of the game, they are incredible and beautiful to experience and take screenshots of. What I loved the most by far was the exploration.…

Hello my friends :) I tested Crimson Desert on the Steam Deck. It runs, BUT the performance isn't great, which was to be expected, unfortunately. :/ I'll keep an eye on the game and wait for updates before testing it again. :/ So far, I can't recommend it for the Steam Deck. :( Here's my test: https://youtu.be/G3WFZrWFujE?si=6I9j4xnfRJ42qZAP P.S. In 6 hours, I'll post a new test where I'm running around the city and doing arm wrestling. :D It's fun, but with the performance issues, it's not…

I’m still only at the start of Chapter 4, but I’m having a total blast so far! It’s honestly so cool how active the devs are, they’re clearly listening to feedback and dropping patches within days. It’s been such a fun ride so far. I am not sure how long it will take for me to finish the game.

As someone who put 200+ hours into the game through press access (I reviewed it for ComicBook), I can say this game is not for everyone. This is not a game for the faint of heart. You need to actually put effort into it, or you won't like it. It will always be divisive because the game is not easy on many different fronts. There is a major learning curve here. However, if you take the time to dig into it, whether that takes way more than your standard few hour try, you'll find gold here. If…

I bought this game while waiting for the Dragon’s Dogma 2 DLC that never dropped The graphics and landscapes are actually gorgeous, and the optimization is surprisingly solid. But for some reason, it feels like the game barely has any anti aliasing. Shadows and objects can look hella jagged sometimes. There are also tons of visual bugs on objects, probably because they are using displacement maps on almost every texture for optimization or something. That said, I am still pretty satisfied…

Fix/update the controls/tutorials and this game will be peak. Best comment I found on youtube about this game - "it's like eating a perfectly cooked steak with a spoon".

the definition of not respecting your time. a million side quests of you delivering tomato to someone, orange to some idiot, and following someone to somewhere just for the sake of wasting your time. don't bother looking for unique items as all items have basically the same stats when maxed. stupid story with stupid characters, god I want to kill Yan so much. The writing in this game is like written by AI, the characters way of talking and acting does not belong in the theme of the world.…
