What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 208 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Overwhelmingly Positive (991 of 1,010 positive).
Players praise Dawnsbury Days as a faithful and enjoyable adaptation of Pathfinder 2e's combat system. [1][2][3] Some reviewers note the game's simple graphics and cheesy story, but find the tactical gameplay compelling. [4][5][6] A few players criticize the game as a repetitive encounter simulator with limited roleplay and high difficulty. [7][8][9]

Good lil game that teaches you the ropes of Pathfinder 2nd edition, especially the infamous 3 action per turn rule that the Church of Pathfinder™ talks so much about on internet forums like Reddit. According to them, "pathfinder 2e fixes everything wrong with D&D". Amen to that, my brethren... The story is silly and light hearted, but the tactical turn based combat is competent and enjoyable. 7.5/10

An absolute slam dunk of argument in favour of "I want shorter games with worse graphics made by people who are paid more to work less". This is an extremely faithful translation of Pathfinder 2nd edition into the tabletop, and captures all the depth and strategy that make the tabletop game so enjoyable. As a fantasy grid-based skirmish simulator, it's superb. The graphics are simple and the UI is basic but this is …

Dawnsbury Days is a good-natured little game that punches above its weight. It's less of a CRPG than it is an encounter simulator, primarily focused on combat, though as a combat simulator it's very competent. If you don't mind that the story evokes a child's storybook rather than an epic fantasy adventure, and you can look past the gets-the-job-done graphics, there's a good time to be had here. It's important to …

Please do not be turned off by the graphics. The mechanics are solid, and writing is quite nice, and I believe this is the best PF2e cRPG we currently have. It demonstrates very well that this system works great in a videogame.

It's nice that someone put in effort into a Pathfinder 2e game. But man do I hate the dialoge here which constantly breaks the 4th wall and talks about rules mechanics in every second line. It constantly kills even the smallest bit of immersion I manage to build up.

Today, I can proudly share one of them. I made a few tokens for the Dawnsbury Days video game by @dawnsbury.bsky.social #pf2e #pathfinder

Dawnsbury Days is a great game and the development team behind it is awesome, and I think people should take a look at both the game *and* the patreon to consider supporting if possible, I will be keeping a close eye on development and hopefully getting the DLC day 1! 💜
positive · AI labelView post →Dawnsbury Days featured in the Party-Based RPG Steam Fest this week, and I understand for some players it featured on Steam homepage or close to it, and over 2,000 new players have now wishlisted the game. That is amazing! Welcome, everyone!
neutral · AI labelView post →For those who haven't seen, Dawnsbury Days just released both a DLC expansion AND huge patch adding even more content to the game! including new ancestries and classes, this game is very cool and an amazing way to try out Pathfinder2e in a CRPG ❤️

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yo! TONIGHT at 8pm PDT, we'll be trying out the Pathfinder 2e video game "Dawnsbury Days". This has actually been around for a while, and has some great reviews! Let's see how well one small developer can capture the elements of PF2 in video game form.
neutral · AI labelView post →A dedicated dev and active modding base makes this an excellent way to engage with PF2E. I've dedicated many hours to this game, and I'm looking forward to many more
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I just want to set expectations for those who are tolerant of minimalist graphics in search of hidden gems. There are plenty of things that are well-implemented about this game, but it seems to be little more than a turn-based encounter simulator that uses Pathfinder rules. You just sorta go from predetermined encounter to encounter in a straight line. Encounter, fight, win, rest, repeat. There's also not a lot of personality. It feels a bit like sitting down to a table of people who don't…

neutral · AI labelView post →Even as a complete beginner to pf2e its easy to get into. The devs also do not use AI.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Been trying to get into Pathfinder 2e, and wanted to take a moment to praise this helpful little gem of an indie game, Dawnsbury Days. PF2E rules well implemented, charming voice acting, it feels like a DM trying to bring their campaign to life in a unique way. store.steampowered.com/app/2693730/...
positive · AI labelView post →Jakub Leśniewski drew some great new art for Dawnsbury Days, including the giant rat. He also made a cuter dressed-up variant of this vermin, which won't be in the game itself, but I'd like to share this wonderful art here! 💛 You can see other pieces by this artist at sulimoartt.artstation.com!
neutral · AI labelView post →The Dawnsbury Days casting call has now closed with 6100+ auditions submitted! Thank you all very much for your interest in the game! I'm looking forward to reviewing the files and casting!
neutral · AI labelView post →I just finished the main campaign (using the normal/medium difficulty except for 2-3 battles, I don't remember which one tho) and it was... wow. Don't let yourself discouraged by the 2D graphics, the game has fully-voiced characters, and even the rule book is included interactively inside the game. I would heartily recommend this game to any beginners who wants to try and/or delve into TTRPG. The game adapts the Pathfinder 2e rules well (even better if I must say), even mostly I can just wing…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I don't feel the need to review games very often, but Dawnsbury Days is just so good. It's not just that it's good, but it has heart and character oozing out of every pore. Can't recommend enough.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'd like to echo a lot of the other very positive recommendations here. This is a real gem. It strikes a great balance between customizing a small team of characters without feeling bogged down in excessive detail management. It focuses on quickly moving into a variety of combat encounters. Being thrown immediately into the action again and again was refreshing given it barred the time sink of pre-casting defensive spells or the like. You can simply focus on trying to develop an effective team…

If you're a content creator, journalist, or are otherwise interested in covering the game, let me know — I'll be happy to send you a key and answer questions!
neutral · AI labelView post →Delayed role announcement #4- you can hear me as Ramielle, the Archangel of the Future in the Dawnsbury Days expansion The Profane Barrier! It’s a wonderfully dark add-on to a game that players love, with another expansion already in development. Thanks to @dawnsbury.bsky.social for having me!

The system will later be available in @teamplus.bsky.social's upcoming Magic+ rulebook, but until then, this is where you can see it!

This is an extremely faithful translation of Pathfinder 2nd edition into the tabletop, and captures all the depth and strategy that make the tabletop game so enjoyable. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have a great deal of love for Pathfinder Second Edition as a system. I also have a great appreciation, as a GM of multiple decades, for just how difficult it is to design a game that remains fresh and interesting start to finish, to design encounters that are interesting to address without being a horrendous pain in the ass. Dawnsbury Days has convinced me that the designer(s) at hand must run some of the sickest tabletop sessions out there. The game does not need expansive extremely…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For an expansion to the video game Dawnsbury Days, I'm looking for a composer to create and arrange the main melody and track for a lullaby which acts as the expansion's main theme. I offer a flat fee $200 for this one track. Details and contact here: docs.google.com/document/d/1...

positive · AI labelView post →Good fun and one of your best bets if you want to see how a pf2e class works before playing it in a campaign. The game is largely premaster but the modding API is kind enough that folks made mods for most things you might desire.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It scratches my pf2e itch in this dark world ruled by 5e.

neutral · AI labelView post →Love it! This is indeed the first faithful Pathfindfer 2e game out there that I know of. Now only if they can update it to support the remaster changes, that would be awesome!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I recently finished Dawnsbury Days, a fun video game utilizing the #pathfinder2e rules. Unlike Solasta or Baldur's Gate 3 you really need to ensure that your entire party synergizes in terms of strategy. Making party members in a vacuum hurts more than in the 5e games if you have weak spots.

neutral · AI labelView post →This is basically a combat simulator for Pathfinder 2e, it probably has support for the rest of the ruleset as well but the base campaign just puts you through several fights with minimal narrative cutscenes. This isn't a true CRPG in that sense since there's no room for roleplaying, exploration, etc., at least in the base game. The expansions do have more exploration elements, but it's still restrictive. For the price it's a nice small package especially considering how complex TTRPG…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Awesome translation of the PFE2 ruleset to a videogame. Very kind and helpful community and developer. Fun as a game (specially the dlcs!), but also doubles as a pfe2 build tester/learning tool. Very intuitive modding framework and the game is getting constant updates both officially and with mods to fill the gaps. If you like PFE2 or ttrpgs in general, do yourself a favour and play it. 5 Yips out of 5
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I just finished the first campaign and the game surpassed my expectations. You can really customize your party as you like (only the voice-gender is locked for each character) but all the rest has all the build potential of other Pathfinder games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dawnsbury Days is a good-natured little game that punches above its weight. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Haha appreciate the sentiment. Don't expect anything big from me, this game is still Dawnsbury Days through and through!
neutral · AI labelView post →Kinda cheesy plot. The voice acting makes me think there's something wrong with mic quality. The tokens representing the characters doesn't even have a uniform artstyle. Honestly? This is the best approximation of what it's like to play VTT simulator with friends at an actual role playing session when they do their best amateur roleplay attempts. It's no Baldur's Gate, but it was enjoyable. Really impressive implementation of Pathfinder 2e mechanics even though I found during playtime that I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game good as ♥♥♥♥ I've never played pf2e before but I picked it up really quick and breezed through the main campaign heading to the DLC now! :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →We are back! Time to dust off an underrated gem and play Dawnsbury Days! In case you don't know its a #Pathfinder 2E game/simulator, definitely worth checking out! Come roll dice with me!
positive · AI labelView post →Shockingly good tactical Pathfinder 2e combat. Cute voice acting and story. The UI is super intuitive. This is an easy must-buy if you have any interest in Pathfinder 2e tactical combat.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dawnsbury Days has 600+ reviews on Steam with an overwhelmingly positive rating overall. The game doesn't use AI and your voice won't be used for AI. Thank you very much for considering this audition and looking forward to potentially working with you! (3/3)
neutral · AI labelView post →Do you like Pathfinder? Have you been interested in learning how to play PF but can't find a game or look at it and go, "That's too complicated"? That's okay, because there's a small little indie game that is cheap and teaches you how to play: Dawnsbury Days. store.steampowered.com/app/2693730/...
positive · AI labelView post →Dawn of the Final Day! Going to dig into some Pathfinder and D&D stuff this time today, starting with the Dawnsbury Days game! positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dawnsbury Days is a cRPG with 98%+ positive rating out of 900 reviews, where a party of childhood friends fight through the seas, skies, frozen plains, deserts, tunnels, and even Hell itself. The game doesn't use AI in any way and I reject AI utterly. (2/5)
neutral · AI labelView post →This game is absolutely wonderful. For 5$, you get more realistic TTRPG feel than with most current RPG titles. The story is good, it's written for a younger audience than I would personally like, which it should be, as TTRPG should be accessible to everyone. This is a great way to introduce the "screens are king" generations to the potential of theatre-of-the-mind. Considering the minimalistic approach on the GUI as compared to the RPG's we normally play, this game does true tabletop…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Going live! Checking out Dawnsbury Days! Looks like a cute game and apparently uses Pathfinder 2e rules so that sounds interesting to me. Feel free to drop by! www.twitch.tv/myrhail #vtuber #vsky #vtlive
neutral · AI labelView post →Great translation of Pathfinder 2e's combat, and it keeps improving with every expansion! Very worth it, fun alone and with friends.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hit accuracy is very low (understand your characters are low level, but still) and the game seems designed for kids more than adults. The main story can get through in a few hours and end up at around level 4 but I guess you have to buy more scenarios? Some might find it appealing but just not for me.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun game, my only complaint is that it does not offer a randomly generated dungeon crawl mode to keep coming back to. Hopefully the sequel could do that
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fiiiiiiinally got around to finishing Dawnsbury Days and its expansion today, and dang, what a game. It's charming, fun, and engaging. It's a faithful translation of PF2E, and it presents a neat little adventure to play through. Highly recommend to turn-based tactical fans. Good video game!
positive · AI labelView post →12. If you want to play a new TTRPG, play Dawnsbury Days. 5€ game, based on Pathfinder 2nd Edition. Awesome tutorial to the system. Break free from DnD5. Try a new system that isn't even more complicated. Just way more free and allows for better creative expression, especially through customization.
