As much as I love de blob 2 (which you should play by the way, that one is really good and fixes most of the problems in the first game) I just cant say that the first game is good, the jumping is really sluggish, the movement has a delay just big enough to be annoying, and dont even get me started on the camera controls, they are quite possibly the worst camera controls in any game I have ever played. The levels …

I don't think it's possible to make anything more joyous, soulful or whimsical than de Blob. It's cheeky nature, cool vibes and plethora of funky, jazzy and bossa nova inspired tunes alongside a relatively simple, but effective n' engagingly creatively driven gameplay loop, all piled on top of it's ever endearing art style and charm. Standout amongst it's home platform (the Wii), and a relatively hidden gem amongst …

Criminally underrated game I've been obsessed with since I was a kid playing it on my uncle's Wii. Phenomenal music & musical integration with gameplay, super fun gameplay loop itself, such a unique presentation style and premise, so many collectibles and challenges, and for ppl with both ADHD and ASD like me, visual & auditory stimuli galore. Absolutely a must-play for literally anybody looking for something new. …

De Blob is basically what happens when stress relief and mild rage decide to co parent a video game. Most of the time it’s soothing, like colouring books for grown up and then suddenly one challenge has you seething like a kettle someone forgot to take off the boil. But with enough perseverance (and maybe a muttered swear or two), you get there. The game itself is easy to play, almost suspiciously easy until the …

I have to be honest I didn't play the Original Wii Version from 2008 when I was younger but I do remember the Frutiger Aero era that this game represents really well and really woke up my nostalgia for the times when life was much simpler. How did We get from such nice visuals that this game presents in really good way to Flat Slop to AI Slop We get nowadays? HOW DID WE DROP FROM THIS?! That's enough of complaints. …

positive · AI labelView post →There hasn't been a new De Blob game in almost 14 years and I think that's why everything's been going wrong
positive · AI labelView post →When was still coming off my six year hiatus due to harassment/doxxing/threats—really wanted to dive in hard to showcase game journalism was always my goal. Wrote about authoritarianism/colours in De Blob. First published/written long-form work. Hope folks enjoy/find interesting; especially now.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Super chill and fun "Frutiger Metro" style platformer. Steam says it's unsupported on the SteamDeck but it worked PERFECTLY for me on mine with ZERO issues
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game 089: De Blob A very unique game. It has a gameplay loop somewhat similar to a Katamari title, but instead of rolling a big ball over everything, you're bringing color and music to a world consumed by boredom and grayness. It also features my favorite uses of a dynamic soundtrack in gaming.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A lesson on color mixing, or a guide to performing a coup d'état of your fascist overlords? This was a childhood game for me, so coming back years later and 100%'ing de Blob as an adult has been both A:) A form of torture I would never wish on another human being, and B:) Some of the most fun gameplay i've had in a long time. Seriously, this game is a masterclass on environmental design. The cutscenes are adorable and quite well animated, and it's SO DARN COOL that challenge levels reward…

positive · AI labelView post →This was the first ever game I beat on my own when I was six years old. It was a favourite of mine then and remains a favourite of mine to this day. I will say this is not the best port of the game. While the game-play and general design still holds up, this port has a poor rendition of the motion control elements present in this game (building transformation) and the camera sways like a Irish man on St Patrick's day. These two factors make the game impossible to 100% complete as the final…

positive · AI labelView post →Imperfect but underrated I have a history with De Blob - I played De Blob 2 on PS3 as a kid, and realising it and its predecessor were on Steam I got them both and played through them. They make for a sadly forgotten and underrated duology in the 3D platformer genre. Focussing on De Blob 1, its main selling point is really the soundtrack, and the sense of progression you get as you restore lifeless greyscale cityscapes to bursting with life, colour and music. Looking back on what you achieved…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →as much as its a childhood game which i love, on pc its unplayable
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Classic game, Keyboard and Mouse controls are genuinely not usable unfortunately - use a controller for the best experience of the game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →steam really needs an option between good review and bad review because i honestly didn't hate it. i dropped it because it was very repetitive, but I loved the overall atmosphere. Its very Frutiger Aero.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I saw this game for the first time on nintendo wii. I had it but never booted it...I believed it was for kids so I didn't really bother. I saw a "hidden gems" video on youtube and this game was in it. It definitely is worth a try and I am surprised that more people don't know about this colourful masterpiece. After finishing the game I was a bit sad that it ended...but then I realised there is BLOB 2 so not all is lost. Cool concept and great execution , easily one of my favorites.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think game music kinda peaked with the music system for the game De Blob you could pick different genres, different styles, and the more you progressed in a level, the more you did, the more instruments, the more intensity grew together with the world getting its color back was so fucking good
positive · AI labelView post →A fantastic game with unique ideas, vibrant visuals, clean aesthetics and amazing music. It offers a surprising amount of content and it's pretty satisfying to 100% despise missing some QoL features like trackers for missed collectibles. Levels can be quite lenghty when going for full completion though. Aside from that, the game feels pretty solid though the controls suffer a bit when the game requires any sort of precision with lock-ons, specially in the challenge missions. Still a…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has been one of my favorites since childhood. Replaying it somewhere other than the wii was a blast <3 It's so bouncy and uplifting, the INTERACTIVE MUSIC, all in all just a very satisfying game. DO NOT try and play this without a controller; and even then, prepare for the controls to be frustrating on occasion ("I PRESSED THE BUTTON THAT MAKES YOU JUMP, BLOB") but i promise, the fun is worth it.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just finished De Blob 2 tonight; honest to god, what a set of underrated games here. Didn't think the guys who made those shitty Nicktoons Unite games had it in them to make some genuine gems under their belt and considering this was their last game, its a high note to end on even if (CONT.)
positive · AI labelView post →Been replaying De Blob, and how is a 3d platformer wii exclusive published by THQ this fucking based? Like that's a lot of anti-capitalism for a game aimed at preschoolers.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is the definitive edition in my opinion, because the switch is allways increadibly laggy. i do not recomend going for 100% and not even 90% (basicaly hundo) unless you are insane or need it to live (or both) 89/100 i like de Blob 2 better. I have my reasons... 96/100 I know i said its an 8/10 in my last review 2 weeks ago i was way too harsh
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →# De Blob 1 & 2 This game also took over my life and I just became obsessed with it. It is terribly fun to play and very addictive. I think I blasted through both of them in a couple weeks.
positive · AI labelView post →Oh boy, what a game this is. This is a very fun-loving and creative game that allows people with OCD like me to just... color stuff. It lacks a plot you actually care very much about, but you don't play this kind of game for the story- you play it to touch buildings and make them colorful. oOoOo pretty colors. The two biggest drawbacks are that of the controls and of the sheer repetitiveness of the whole game. Every level is extremely same-y and does little to introduce new challenges to the…

I would not recommend you 100% finish the game, but try to get gold medals on all missions and you basically experienced what the game has to offer. Music is such a bop, you probably heard it in a few videos before as well, jazzy and funky. Anyway, it was nice and fun to revisit this 2008 classic. positive · AI labelView post →COLOR me impressed de Blob is exactly the kind of game that feels like a breath of fresh air. At first glance, it might seem like just a splash of paint, but it’s actually a charming 3D platformer with some action elements that can really pull you in. In the story, you play as a creature that brings color back to a gray, drained world while fighting the INKT Corporation. By using paint, you defeat enemies by turning them into flat pancakes and overthrow the ink tyranny. The main goal is to…

One really big problem though is that the game is unfortunately UNPLAYABLE on Steam. Got into the game just to freeze when smashing into the first paint canister enemy. I heard other's are also suffering from this issue, but there's not much advice to fix it + I tried ways such as verifying the installation files. Sadly the only other advice for it was just to buy the…
