Many players find the core gameplay loop of deconstructing houses and managing a warehouse satisfying and addictive. [1][2][3] Some reviewers criticize the game for becoming repetitive and lacking meaningful progression after the early hours. [4][5][6] Several players note that the game has bugs and half-baked mechanics that detract from the experience. [5][7][8]

If you're thinking about getting this game, download the demo and play it through a few times until you're bored because there really isn't much more content that's worth it outside of the demo itself. This game was initially a lot of fun, it felt like there were clear objectives and lots to look forward to, but it feels like I've reached mid-game about 10 hours in, and there's no real urge to see it to completion. …

This game isn't terrible, but it's also not very good. It's extremely repetitive, and the mechanics seem half-baked at best. Repetitive: Some reviews mention how this is to be expected with this type of game, but I played Hardspace Shipbreakers, and it was an example of how this can be done extremely well. I continued to play after getting all the achievements, but I immediately uninstalled this after completing it. …

A fun addictive game, It's the only game i have been playing for weeks now, Demolishing houses and slowly upgrading your company is enjoyable and well balanced, you feel like you've hit gold sometimes when you find expensive items for your warehouse, the warehouse ordering system is fun and reminds me of when i used to work in a warehouse picking and packing items to sell, the dev listens to his community and adds …

Deconstruction Simulator has a pretty basic but satisfying gameplay loop. 1. Customer puts out a contract to have some kind of work done like removing a couple walls or recovering furniture from a house. 2. Contractor (The player) accepts the contract, shows up, and does required work. 3. Customer returns to find that you have also stolen all of the doors, windows, furniture and personal belongings from the house to …

So I don't usually go for these kinds of games, but I ended up really enjoying it. Tearing down houses, looting and packing a van, it's actually pretty fun. The only thing that I wish the developers would look at is this really cute bunny plush in a red polka dot dress. This plush is both my favorite animal and we have matching dresses so naturally I made sure to save her and a teddy bear who somehow survived the …

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfortunately this game gets boring and easily burnt out VERY quickly. The start is great, in all fairness: you get to collect high-ticket items, smash things, clean up after the fact, even more smashing, level up your equipment and unlock better houses... But that's about it for the good. You played a few houses then you've played them all. Why? Let me explain: - The houses are different in sizes and there are two different types of walls: : wooden walls with plaster, and solid brick wall.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love these kinds of games, but many of the reviews are correct. Play the demo 3-4 times and its the same thing. The only difference is later contracts are worth more to make up for the upgrades costing significantly more. It feels like time gating to make the game feel longer than it really is. You have the whole game at about 2 hours of play, but to get all the upgrades i would assume you have to play those 2 hours around 25 times to complete it. The speed increase you get from…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very sad game. I am disappointed. I thought it's a game that gives you ton of tools to destroy an house. In fact there is only one tool and it's a tiny hammer and it's not upgradable. To fully destroy a house you can only press a button for 30 minutes. No machines or anything like in the trailer because that only happens in the tutorial. The only vehicles in the game are transport vehicles and they are not even cool because they are very frustrating to pack because of clipping errors.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game starts out very well. You go on demolition runs, destroy homes, collect things, go home.. The problem is the "Collection" of things for second hand use. Contract orders most of the time seem ridiculous or impossible to fill (Like once I had a client request 15 pallets of bricks and a toilet) An NPC seller recently added will take everything and give you a dollar in return. So I have a warehouse filled with reclaimed items and most of the contracts I get are "I need 10 light fixtures and a…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →UPDATE: My original review is below, but I am downgrading this to not recommended. It has a lot of potential, but it is too lazily implemented to get my recommendation. It feels like a game in early, early access and the further you get in to the game, the more unplayable it becomes. There are furniture items you can't disassemble, the heavy machinery for deconstruction is completely worthless (because it costs 80% of your contract, and you can just do it for free almost as fast with a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have encountered a bug which is just game breaking, I keep putting stuff in the warehouse on the shelves, and on the pallets, but as soon as I leave, I come back to an empty warehouse, I have deleted all save data from the appdata file, I have tried over and over again but still the same issue, I am hoping there is an easy fix as I won't play again until it is fixed.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like the concept and want to like the game. Knowing the dev/publisher (and seeing some early complaints), I waited for 6-7 months to give them sufficient time to iron out major bugs and lack of content due to the game potentially having been rushed. I did not encounter any meaningful bugs, but sadly I still feel let down. The game is not bad: It just isn't fun. For a short 5-10$ game it might have been sufficient, but for 20$ it is not. The main issue is that the progress does not feel like…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This started out as a great game, but the devs have focused too much on adding new features and too little on bug fixes. The game is basically unplayable beyond what's in the demo now. Lots of potential here, but a lot of ball dropping has ruined that. To the devs: Just read the "Bugs & Fixes" pinned section on the Discussion forums for this game right here on Steam. I and others have complained about the same problems repeatedly with no fix.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →First couple hours i thought 'wow, i could see myself playing alot of this game' then as it went on it became boring and repetitive, no feel of progression. Having to work multiple days and contracts to upgrade a screwdriver, unrealistic pricing. Overpriced wrecking ball, if you use it you make no money on the job itself, so whats the point in it? All these items you can get from each house, that just sit on shelves because you can't sell it, only to be used for orders and most of the time no…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Took a year to actually include half the game, it's buggy as hell, and the recent major update introduced multiple bugs making the game literally unplayable. (Got softlocked twice trying to complete the tutorial and no inventory is being saved in my warehouse making progression impossible)
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Being a big fan of sim games, I thought I would enjoy this, but I did not. The gameplay is very boring and repetitive in ways that other simulators are not. Many mechanics were difficult to use due to not being intuitive, having little to no instruction, and some not working properly.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Man, ♥♥♥♥ this game. No wonder the in all the 'let's play' videos the streamers just destroyed everything with hammer and not give a ♥♥♥♥. Tediously picking up EVERY brick one by one and putting them in a pallet ONE BY ONE is not fun. Game wants THESE bricks, BUT NOT ALL these bricks that look identical that came from the same wall? Tell me I can take an item home, but only that one specific item other wise, penalty, Tell me to destroy wall, well a brick fell and broke that desk you had no…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The recent updates have completely broken the gameplay. Disassembling proper objectives causes penalties that don't actually happen, such as being penalised for 'breaking' a window that's already ben safely packed away, 'stealing' a window that's supposed to be collected from a specific wall, or completely damningly randomly penalising HUNDREDS of dollars for the crime of loading a save - in my case claiming I had 'destroyed' a bed, multiple chairs, and more besides. Put simply, I purchased a…

neutral · AI labelView post →I have to give them credit for trying to fix the bugs....but they keep saying things are fixed and I start over just to encounter a bug that keeps me from completing a contract. Again. And again. Part of the job is to take or destroy windows. I take them back to the warehouse. I go back to the job site. The game tells me I need to take or destroy the windows..... yeah, they're not there so I can't do that part now. Also, loading up my save takes me out of easy/relaxed mode, so now i…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Super fun and satisfying. Destruction physics are great and game has a really solid loop. I see some reviewers are dogging on the lack of variety/longevity, but I'm 10hrs in and still haven't even unlocked a larger vehicle or the larger warehouse (and I'm still on the 3rd license out of 5 for different job types). For $15 I'm not sure how much more "game" you can ask for. Well worth it IMO.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So I want to preface this review by saying I am still a relative noob on Steam. Been a console player since 77 but a friend convinced me to try the Steamdeck. And has it made me see the light. Now, with that said, I never would have said this ever if I had not been on Steam. This game, about basically running your own warehouse, something I've done in real life, has me completely addicted! The core gameplay loop of this game is one that digs its claws into you and don’t let go! I fear I am…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Found a game on Steam that looked super fun (Deconstruction Simulator), and as I was going through the store page, I saw this. Suffice to say my interest evaporated immediately.
negative · AI labelView post →This game can be fun, but the glaring bugs and oversight is a huge eyesore that makes me not want to recommend this game. Overall the game premise is to deconstruct building, sell of items from deconstruction, and now build buildings (with recent update). +Positives: +Destroying buildings are fun and strategic. +Missions are fun, but flawed (look at negatives) +Upgrades for tools, warehouse, vehicles, and permits keep players motivated. +Some of the contract's stories are fun to read. +Xbox…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS GARBAGE. Game has been getting more unstable with each update, you lose your warehouse inventory each time, most recent update doesn't keep new stuff added making it unplayable. This game is not worth its price tag.

Also, games that make me think a lot lose my interest as well. Enter simulation games! This game is a great game in this category. It is a lot of fun with plenty to do without being overwhelming and maintaining interest with tasks that are fun. Targets to achieve and a business to run, starting from the bottom up…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Returning player and these new updates has made the game ridiculously com0plicated and annoying. If there are alot of new things which require materials, maybe make it possible to buy the materials. Also make it easier to find the correct materials tyo build pre-fab homes. ALso, when it says tyou need to construct furniture in a home, maybe menjtion that you need to have it in your own investory already, or make it possible to buy onsite or have it there waiting already. The new features…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →-Penalty for destroying property (it was a house destruction job). -Several missions did not payout for cleanup, even thothere was no trash left. -Orders for selling objects can rarely be filled, and if they can they pay a small fraction of item worth. -Message about game update, current contract gets cancelled and the compensation was close to nothing (there was no game updates) Overall very slow game, even for someone who loves a grind. The game loop is simply terrible
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Eh, it's... okay overall. Basically, you are sabotaged by a big-time company who sends you to wreck the wrong house, and you set out on your own as an independent wrecker and salvager of houses. That's about it for the story; after around $50k profit, you get a little text saying you showed your previous employer they were jerks and you are awesome and also here's the credits. The actual game is pretty fun. You can take apart entire houses with a sledgehammer, or you can rent out a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →another simulator game thats fun for the first few levels. upgrading anything besides the screwdriver is useless. maybe after a few updates itll be fun to return to but it got boring after the same type of missions over and over.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Took a bit of a break from the game after having played it continuously since it launched. Finally came back to the game and upon loading in, my entire warehouse was empty. All the items, wood, windows, etc that I had accumulated were gone for no particular reason. It was as if I didn't have 38.4 hours worth of play time. My company's name was back to the default, my vehicle was back to default. Things like this SHOULDN'T happen.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Okay, so this is a custom name for the company in Deconstruction Simulator, but it also goes hard as a possible achievement name in RuneScape, if Um gets anything else. Still don't like necromancy and all, but hey, can't pass up a good pun. Video by GrayStillPlays.

neutral · AI labelView post →Initially fun but now just a buggy mess. The new update ruined the game. The game released several months ago and I've played for too long to request a refund.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Returning player to try this game out again long after release: I really try to like this game but seeing the game's state today left me disappointed.. When it first released it had its flaws, a few bugs there but overall it was a fairly nice and enjoyable experience, the bugs existing back then was not breaking the game or anything like that, at least not the ones I experienced. Just annoying inconveniences. But now.. Uhm... - More than once I've accepted a contract where you are to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →the game was fine in the beginning but now the devs are changing it into something else and making it more tedious rather than entertaining with new building contract types instead of deconstruction and you are forced to do these contracts you get no options to only do tear down contracts i attempted to present my concerns with the devs but they blew me off by just saying skip the day i think this game will go the way of many others that the devs just cant stop meddling with it until they ruin…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So I want to start by saying that I really like the logic of the game like breaking stuff and collecting materials to sell (and sell some rarer items or random items you can find in homes). It's original and not something I saw before this game. I am still really early in the game but I can't recommend it currently as I believe there are some core elements missing, I am not sure if those are work in progress or not 1 - There should be a filter of some sort for item orders so you can actually…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Score: 6.2 / 10 Deconstruction Simulator hits a really satisfying niche: tearing things apart piece by piece while figuring out the smartest way to dismantle each space you’re given. There’s a puzzle-like satisfaction in looking at a house or structure and planning how you’re going to break it down efficiently, and honestly, it’s pretty addicting once you get into the loop. Controls feel responsive and generally work how you expect them to, and the progression system is fair. Missions…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a moderately fun game but the hit boxes for loading items onto trucks or vans are absolute trash. Trying to load in sheetrock panels into a truck turned into a nightmare because there's so much deadspace in each hitbox that makes it so you can't load panels next to a stack of bricks, you have to unload the entire thing and try to reload it over and over with different configs until the red boxes FINALLY want to play nice and allow you to place the item down that has ALL THE SPACE IN THE…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I LOVE this game; with a few caveats. The deconstruction is super fun, The warehouse customization is really fun even to micromanage and rearrange for your most optimal setup. The Tool and upgrade system is a great concept, But I feel it was implemented a bit poorly. I know this isn't a huge game with no early middle and endgame sort of play, But I would love if the tool system could be expanded upon and customized perhaps to make them more efficient at some things while making them less…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I absolutely loved this game. There’s something oddly satisfying about standing in the middle of my little warehouse, deciding how everything should be arranged. And once you get the hang of it, the deconstruction is genuinely fun. Best of all, the devs are still actively polishing and improving it, which makes the whole experience feel even better.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →3 words, completely utter garbage, i bought this because i thought i might enjoy it DID NOT. i played the demo, thinking it might improve, IT DID NOT. i just cant wrap my head around, how the publishers let this one through, the controls are awful, the game play is tedious as hell, i cant believe i paid 20$aud for this, it's just that bad,
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →After 20min of trying to do the tutorial that is hella buggy I gave up. I really wanted to like the game. Maybe if it receives a couple updates I'll rebuy
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Trying to complete the tutorial, at the point where I am told to buy a screwdriver the game does not advance upon buying the item causing the game to be stuck at that point. Restarted and tried the same step of the tutorial at least 5 times for it to get stuck in the same place every time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I give this game a 9/10 as I only have ONE small problem with the game, and that is simply that certain corner pieces can be tricker than needed to dismantle as the camera does not like to position itself inside the cabinet to reach around the corner. I see the creators are already planning a massive update to the game, but as another feature or even a DLC perhaps I'd love to see this game do would be an outside portion! Such as dismantling Gazebos, outdoor swings, old parks or libraries for…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It was a fun concept that failed through its poor execution. This is the dev of Ship Graveyard Simulator, so, for starters, don't get your hopes up regarding quality game development. However, this time they used terrible AI to crap out some slop to make a lazy video game, instead of manually crapping out slop like they did in the past. With AI, their game is no better this tme around, but at least they did manage to be even lazier, so I guess they've got that going for them. Don't buy…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →For a game that calls itself Deconstruction Simulator it seems to favor Demolition more (I guess it is a form of deconstruction.) The player's limited warehouse storage coupled with the selling system makes it impossible to store & sell (at least for any kind of a profit) everything you could salvage on a site, spitting on any notion that a player may elect to LARP their company as a eco-friendly company that salvages as much material as possible for re-use. Storage : Lets start with the Beam…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Therapeutic smashing up or carefully taking down buildings for parts, progression feels good. Waiting to see if buildings get bigger and more tools / vehicles to be added. All in all, good time sink for me. Warehouse extensions could do with going sideways as well as towards the back, sometimes one house can fill up near all of the shelves even at full size
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Personally I like this game as it has different mechanics like dismantling furniture and house parts like doors and windows and walls. It has some little bugs here and there, but not so many now after a few updates and patches. The business side is very easy to follow and develop and eventually upgrade you're warehouse and vehicles and Office. You need to gain money to buy more permits for bigger jobs and also need to complete the required amount of contracts at different permit levels.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →had hoped the game would change from start but it really doesn't. it is incredibly boring after a while. I have too many beams, bricks breaks stuff that i didn't even see, nor do i have any control over where they fall. Same houses and quests, just variances in how much you get paid. No real late-game objective. Upgrades are far too expensive compared to their use case. And the crazy amount of lag in this game is wild. Runs incredibly badly. The sledgehammer is both too weak and too imprecise.…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Listen, I love dismantling games, and this one certainly fits the vibe, but after a mere three hours i had 3 fatal crashes, and had to force quit twice due to being stuck in a dismantle so the unstuck wouldnt work. Ill keep playing as they patch, but id wait it out a bit if you are prone to frustration. Edit, as i continue playing i get several critical failure crashes per mission.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love the concept and the game itself, but, I can't finish a job without the game crashing. I am working on the job with the shed in the back and the game keeps freezing no matter what I do once I start to disassemble the last pieces. I have turned down settings significantly just to get past this spot, updated my drivers, reverted my drivers etc. This is the only game I have that crashes. It's a shame because i'd love to keep going, but, the game just crashes. I finally got past that…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Was able to play game before for over 96 hours . Since the last update now it just kicks me out every time I log in.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It’s actually a good game, but unfortunately, the multitude of bugs ruins the gaming experience. For example, a customer writes that I can take anything, but if I put a shower unit into the car, I get penalized. Or, while I’m trying to build the roof, a plank randomly vanishes from my hand just as I’m about to slot it into place. Plus, optimization isn't exactly the game's strong suit either.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I wish I could recommend it, but it just is way too buggy. Stuff keeps disappearing, contract goals remain unchecked after having been completed, the fabricator eats materials without registering, it's all pretty jarring. Also there are serious performance issues. And let's not even get into the botched update that deleted everyone's warehouse. Also the gameplay is just very repetitive and I'd like to see some more tools. I'll put it back on the shelf for some time and wait for improvements.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is very fun to play, but the game uses way too much AI generated “art”. Almost all the logos and art for this game is AI generated, and I wouldn’t be surprised if the dialogue at the start of the game was too, since it sounds similar to AI writing. Until the AI slop is replaced with someone’s actual artwork, I won’t be touching this game again.
