Players say Devour is a fun co-op horror game best enjoyed with friends. [1][2][3] Some reviewers find the gameplay repetitive and unbalanced, especially in later rounds. [4][5][6] The game is praised for its tense atmosphere and chaotic, panic-inducing moments. [7][8][9]

The gameplay loop is just not fun. Each level is interesting for 5 to 10 min after which you just repeat the same objective over and over again. It's tedious.

If you're expecting a stealth/horror game, look elsewhere, and honestly, playing this solo is not very fun. But if you want a team-based, fast paced, arcade-like experience dressed up as a horror game, this game satisfies. It's a simple formula: perform 10 rituals to win. The map gets more challenging with each ritual performed. Each map has thematic variations. Gameplay feels good, and Straight Back Games are …

Devour is the perfect mix of panic, teamwork, and “why did I agree to this?” It’s a surprisingly intense co-op horror game where every round feels like a frantic scramble between collecting items and getting jump-scared. The maps are creepy, the progression of the demon keeps the pressure high, and playing with friends is chaotic fun. It’s simple, replayable, and absolutely terrifying in the best way. If you enjoy …

Amazing game to play with friends if they dont come up with some bs excuse to avoid playing it

Devour is pure co-op horror chaos. The objectives are simple enough, but once the monster starts chasing the group, every plan immediately falls apart. It's scary, stressful, and often hilarious when teammates panic and run in opposite directions. It's a great time to play with friends.

Samus was due for a redraw and I'm so proud of this piece! It's eat, or be EATEN! #Metroid #Nintendo #Metroidvania #Samus #Sci-fi

In a way it's a whole game about exploring that "you leveled up, dispense your points wisely!" mechanic. Or maybe a game about tech trees, no pun intended.

Every single one of their games is an absolute gem of storytelling. The Blackwell saga & The Escavation of Hob's Barrow are some of my faves!🥰

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you have 4 players. Wouldnt be bad. UNPLAYABLE with less. as the enemy scaling even on normal difficulty during the end game. The enemy is too fast. constantly agro. and no way to stop it.

neutral · AI labelView post →Please cap how many sub-enemies (ghosts, spiders, wheelchairs, crawlers etc.) can spawn at one time. This game is great but you can literally have 6 sub-enemies on you at one time in the later rounds of rituals which you literally can not deal with without extra UV battery, taking the game from scary to just plain annoying. Please at the very least let us have a difficulty slider for the amount of sub-enemies at one time TwT.

neutral · AI labelView post →I like to core idea of the game however this game is far too repetitive. Every mission is collect 10 of this, that and this. My suggestion would be having some form mid-mission change up. Collect 5 items around the map which then opens up another area where there is a different challenge to complete the level? Unfortunately the game just is not my cup of tea.

neutral · AI labelView post →Devour is a coop survival horror game that can give you a couple of fun nights with friends, but not much more than that. You play as a group of survivors, and in the first map, The Farmhouse, your goal is to complete a satanic ritual to stop Anna from dragging you to hell. This involves finding goats scattered around the house, feeding them, and sacrificing them at the ritual site. Accessing the goats requires unlocking different rooms throughout the farmhouse, which adds some tension early…

neutral · AI labelView post →This game is just not fun. I do enjoy horror co-op, but the gameplay loop is just boring and repetitive with very little tradeoff. There's just better games to play. The horror aspects are just obnoxious, jump scares are not scary but just stupid

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If your just looking for a game to play for the night with your buds, then sure it's pretty fun and scary. But it's just the same thing over and over, the goal of each map is the same and nothing changes. Each enemy is the same, they just look a bit different. This game has no replayablity.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Picked up this game with my fiancee as an idea for a fun scary co-op game. There is no tutorial and it is very clunky and boring to start. There is no objective list or idea of where to go. Which is fine if everything is open and interactive.... but it's not. We did the Asylum to start, none of the doors opened but one, and we passed 8 fuses as the only pickup option, which we discovered we needed 1, singular, fuse. We encountered a few enemies and successfully defeated them using the UV light,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like this game, the maps are just different enough to make them engaging and fun. But, honestly it's not a very scary game, it's just a hard game. Annoyingly hard. Call it a skill issue but if we can't beat the map after 3+ tries I just don't find much enjoyment out of it anymore. We've been playing since the game first came out and our complaint with every single new map is the same. It just feels so unbalanced. Hiding from the enemies is useless because they have X-Ray Vision and can…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Enemies are constantly aggro. Unplayable towards the end of a round. Please rebalance game. Otherwise, it's a fun game. MORE EDITS - GAME SORELY NEEDS REBALANCING. Easy mode isn't easy at all.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game genuinely just slop. All you do is grab items. Take them somewhere and drop them off. There is no difficulty. There is hardly any scares. The game is just not something to waste time on even as a Co-op game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →in another effort to review every video game that has helped distract me from the crushing weight of my own mortality and the unavoidable horrors of the human condition: i'd give this game a 6.3/10 with the footnote: i guess i should ask my friends & significant other to play this game with me some more so i can determine whether or not i even like it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At first it was really great but it gets wayy to "annoying" and its always collect 10/10 items and by time its getting REALLY annoying like you could have make it different numbers pre level but nah, i really hope you guys update it from the gameplay a little because its becomes really boring

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The core gameplay simply isn't good. It's scary for the first 20 minutes, then devolves into a stream of repetitive enemies and the level's main monster seeing you from across the map, chasing you, and then screaming in your face. It's the same thing over and over again. Hugely reliant on jumpscares, which lose their effect pretty fast. Funner with friends, but what isn't? Be forewarned, this game is pretty balanced around a 4-person group. I don't think it was really intended for 1-3…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →ive spent so much damn money on this game i should legally own a bathroom in one of the maps by now, every month im expecting a new map, but nope, same crusty-ass locations, same possessed goat screaming in my ear like it pays rent there, if im basically financially supporting this game at this point, the devs could at least drop a new map every month instead of making me run the same haunted bullsh1t like a rat on crack in a maze, the gameplay is fun with friends, sure, but content updates…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is really great, really scary and really fun. Sometime kinda hard but i really recommend playing this game at night with friends.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i genuinely dont understand why people recommend this game. This game is super repetitive, find 10 sacrifices, and you win. The monster is always the same, scaling faster as you sacrifice. The start was okay, but the 2nd level was boring, and repetitive, not to mention the slaughterhouse. This level is impossible since Nathan runs around the stupid map at an incredible 100km/hr. It enters aggro every 10 seconds late game, and shining a UV light wont help, because it gets stunned for 3 seconds,…

To be honest, I wasn’t expecting this game to get as hooked in as it did, but it's as addictive as hell. Definitely do not come looking for a deep story, as it’s purely about surviving the chaos and completing the ritual. But it's not as simple as it sounds. The atmosphere in each of these maps gets so tense that, after a while, even the sound of someone else's breathing on the mic gets creepy. It starts off all chill,…
