Die Young disappointed me a lot. The game itself could be really good, but it just doesn't feel that way. I would describe Die Young as the ugly child of Dying Light and Far Cry. Stranded on an island, you fight for survival and must progress as sneaky and stealthy as possible. It's a mix of parkour and survival. Unfortunately, the game feels like a walking simulator most of the time, as you just walk from A to B a …

This is the Mirror's Edge open world we never got with a bit darker tone. The exploration and climbing and parkouring is fun enough as you explore the Island. I recommend this game for anyone who likes the mentioned mechanics above. It features quests that are just enough to not feel dragged out. No tedius grinding. Don't go in expecting a $49 AAA game, but not a $1,99 either. It's a solid game that will keep you …

This game is an outstanding adventure. Even though the performance has some issues (occasional stutter), its atmosphere and immersion are awesome (especially when playing without HUD). Which gives me enough reason to overlook these stutter issues and enjoy the game. If Farcry, dying light and the forest and mirror's edge had a love child, that would be die young. I was playing on easy difficulty, to be honest after getting a crosbow and molotovs, the fights were mostly easy. Ambitious jank, aka how to try to build Dying light and Forest with fraction of the budget needed You start the game, everything feels janky - the game doesn't look "awful" per say, but it's clear that the budget wasn't the highest. Audio is awkward, presentation is... indie, and you feel awkward trying to adjust to the game. You either keep pushing forward, or like 90% of the players, drop out at some point without finishing it. The good Rewarding exploration - this is the meat and bones…

Plays like a weird mix of Tomb Raider and a walking simulator, but with appalling controls. You'll repeatedly miss the handhold you're jumping for, fall a few metres, and have to clamber around to get back to where you were to try again. The landscape seems to be mostly populated by small animals and occasional characters just running in place. Some areas feature locked doors which you'll need to find a way around, but instead of being able to unlock them from the far side, you eventually…

This game is fantastic, right up to the final moment. But then the devs decided to completely change the game play (entirely without warning, I might add) and you end up hopelessly unprepared to finish the game. *SPOILERS AHEAD* For the entirety of the game, you have to rely on stealth and quietly get the upper hand on unsuspecting enemies. But in the final moment of the game, you're pitted against 12 to 18 enemies (a mix of snipers and melee attackers), alongside an aggressively overpowered…

The stars didn't align quite on this one. Another game that seems to suffer from identity crisis; equal parts Farcry 3 in its world and story, and the other half inspired by Mirrors Edge style parkour and combat. Where the aspects of both are never truly realized, or fleshed out in any sort of cohesive way. The game from the start begins to show its promises with the all too familiar story: a group of friends getaway to an exotic island wherein they all become captured, and its up to our…

This game is long, but pretty good. The puzzles, while sometimes beyond confusing, can be fun, and the movement system is great (as long as you don't make a wrong input and fall off a cliff and then have to load 2 hours back because you didn't have the time or inventory space to save).

The first time I played this, I actually gave up on it after three hours. I was totally wrong about it and so glad I gave it a second chance. The graphics are pretty decent, nothing spectacular, but good enough. The sound effects are a bit off though, with things like footstep sounds from animals being too loud, and just don't sound right. Yet the optimization is a bit off (i have rtx 3060 and i expected the frame rate to be better than that i get). Also the game gives you absolutely zero clues of what to do next. The game provides an interesting enough premise, a pretty cool environment, and I personally found the parkour fun. Die Young is definitely one of the more empty games I have played lately. Over the 11 hours that it took me to complete this game I had very mixed feelings. You are held captive on an island and have to undergo some trials to escape or maybe even join the weird cult that inhabits it. You can pretty much freely explore said island, though there is a clear way the story wants you to go, which is fine. The game has some good parts. It looks pretty good and runs well. Great game but has some caveats. A game that relies on precise timing for certain jumps and dodges shouldn't have such JANKY controls. The "first" boss fight is pure bull**** and I would dismiss/thumbs down the game entirely based on that except there's lots of another fun exploration to be done up to that point. Oh, and the distribution of save points is also pure bull****, even though you can "craft" save points, but since you don't know where the actual save points are you don't craft them…

A great mesh of the Forest and Far Cry! First things first: don't get scared by the prologue. It makes you believe that stealth/combat are the main focus of the game, which would be horrible, because it is very clunky, but no. Parkour high on a beach cliff is worth a sale price, but I'm unable to recommend because the final boss sequence is too unbalanced. Die Young is a survival FPS, where you play as a girl called Daphne, and you go to a not well known island around Turkey, with your friends, however the trip takes a dark turn and you get kidnapped and have to survive against nature and crazy islanders and leave this place at any cost. The game looks pretty good in my opinion, especially the light and dark effects, however it's a bit un-optimzed (or maybe a 1050Ti is not enough for this game). Some of the music in the game is pretty good, adds…

Surprisingly good if you went in with low expectations. All the different places you could explore on this mystery horror island and the story that comes with it was really fun to progress through. It felt very similar to the forest but plays very differently. The enemies in this game do not respawn which kinda sucks but at the same time, is not bad in this game. This along with the equipment progression really feeds into a power fantasy, for example, when you clear out the military base as…

The game is good, if not a bit clunky at times. While the graphics are not cutting edge the art direction is good enough that the game can be very beautiful at times. Very enjoyable exploration and platforming, with horror elements that make for some intense moments from time to time. The "survival" part is very minimal, which is a good thing. The last boss is terrible and almost completely ruins the ending but I had enough fun in the rest of the game that it didn't really matter to me.…

This game was a surprise gem in a Humble Bundle - I wound up liking it a lot more than I expected I would. The island setting is beautiful, the pacing is good, and the horror elements underlying the whole thing are well done. The platforming segments are where the game really shines. The jumps are brutal, and you'll see the Load Game screen many, many times during the longer sequences. But the save points are placed generously enough to prevent things from getting frustrating, and it's…

Received this game as part of a bundle. The world looks great but there are some serious problems which really hold this game back. Travelling is tiring in this game. From the go, you feel lost, spending 90% of the game time climbing rocks trying to find a cave where you can do some fast travel, which still happens to be miles away from where missions are. The combat is terrible- It doesn't feel natural. You find your character exhaused after throwing two swings, meaning the 30 minutes of…

Die Young is an interesting game that is carried completely by its exploration and climbing system. In a way it feels like the love child of Far Cry 3 and Tomb Raider 2013. You've ended up on an island, have been separated from your friends, and you've got to deal with both the wild animals and the various nutjobs that want you dead in order to escape. The climbing and exploration are the stars of this show. While it does rely on some of the handhold-y "white paint" that is common in modern…

The somewhat rough but overall nevertheless well-made and surprisingly extensive indie offspring of Far Cry, Mirror's Edge, and Tomb Raider that features crafting and light survival elements. Particularly noteworthy in the overall good gameplay are the very well-implemented climbing mechanics. The beautiful, sunny, Mediterranean island setting contrasts sharply with the brutal and dark story that criticizes capitalism and socialism. For me, this was a very positive surprise from a small indie…

Pretty nice looking map, cool parkour mechanics that remind me of Far Cry a lot and the story is somewhat interesting, with multiple endings. Performance is stable enough for me, even though i did see multiple complaints about that, constant 144 fps for me. Voice acting is also surprisingly good. However, doing the actual missions can be a bit difficult at times, because of the lack of directions of where to go and what to do. The enemy AI and mechanics also suck, i can just spam attack a dog…
