The combat is widely praised as fluid, stylish, and satisfying. [1][2][3] Some reviewers criticize the story, characters, and camera work. [4][5][6]

in my review i try to seperate the game from the rest of the devil may cry games, as those are actually better overall. But as a standalone hack and slash game, it is okay, and only okay at best. the combat is probably the best part of the game, but the narrative is crazy, the camera work is horrible, the pacing is sometimes too slow and sometimes too fast, and i got too tired of it and couldnt bother to finish the …

I will never forgive the DMC fan base for not allowing a sequel to this game and hating on it.

Look, the story is mid at best and Dante looks like he lost a bet at Hot Topic, but hear me out. The combat? Absolutely sends it. Juggling demons with angel and demon weapons never gets old, the style meter stays popping and the level design is genuinely creative in ways that catch you off guard. It's flashy, it's fast and it respects your time. Yeah the narrative is cringe and emo Dante can stay in 2013 where he …

A ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ beautiful bastard of a game that the internet tried to strangle at birth. In order to keep the same tone, I’ll use the same potty language to think myself cool, but not as cool as this game really is. Back when this dropped, the horde frothed like it was the end of civilization. Everybody and their sad little cousin piled on, screaming “edgy pile of ♥♥♥♥” because the echo chamber demanded blood and they …

neutral · AI labelView post →an unfortunate thing is that one of the only lasting things from games like DMC or Bayonetta is just a lot of people think good action game is when its flashy and you can juggle enemies
negative · AI labelView post →dumb doodles I did after playing Devil May Cry 5 back when it was released I've been a DMC stan since launch date of the first game, I love this dumb traumatized demon family
positive · AI labelView post →people were ready to start world war 3 over DmC, a game now almost universally regarded as, "eh probably the best western-developed hack and slash all things considered"
neutral · AI labelView post →I will never forgive the DMC fan base for not allowing a sequel to this game and hating on it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gonna wait for a proper translation still but like. Prime 4 inspired by "online comments wishing for an open world Metroid". Yoship developed GoT style single player FF with "DMC" jump cancels. Arc Sys Marvel game. Turns out devs do read Reddit and we are in the era where those games are releasing
neutral · AI labelView post →Playing through the midpoint of DMC4 last night after all this time, man, that game is *rough*. Medicore enemies, terrible levels, weird way to split the playable characters, god awful boss re-use. I'm expecting to run into DMC-Devil May Cry's definitive edition and walk away happier than expected.

neutral · AI labelView post →#dmc that one game called devil may go shopping with his daughter and besties while drinking lavender latte <3
neutral · AI labelView post →Anyway, good game. I’m still not good at DMC combat and I still don’t fully understand it. Surprised by how enjoyable I found the story actually. Really good ending. Also surprised there’s not a way to play the game entirely as each character. Feels like an easy way to do replay value. But good game
positive · AI labelView post →Can't wait to play some more DmC!
positive · AI labelView post →Describe that I had unfair expectations or demand hyper complexity, but that's not true! They cut trailers like a DMC game, but also, DMC1 is over 25 years old! Prototype and Infamous are 15 years old too! Resonant has some of the simplest melee combat I've encountered in a game like this.

positive · AI labelView post →Reminds me of the interview where he revealed that every day he would watch the DmC 2013 Devil May Cry game trailer to get himself pumped up for his Naruto manga work
neutral · AI labelView post →Switching high speed between bird, rat, gryphon, and dragon like they're styles in a DMC game
neutral · AI labelView post →Man, Devil May Cry has such a checkered history when it comes to mainstream releases. Every other beloved game has to have a mirror release plagued with bad vibes or disourse DMC1 - DMC2 DMC3 - DMC anime (not bad but mediorce) DMC4 - DmC DMC5 - DMC anime 2.0
neutral · AI labelView post →I beat DMC 3! . Satisfying combat . Decent level design . Over-the-top charm . Great bosses . Camera can be wonky . Dodging could be more fluid What a rad game!!! Much better than the first. I do wish dodging was better but only a small gripe. Onto DMC 4!!!
positive · AI labelView post →New video out soon, Run DMC please do not DMCA me for the song that make the video game popular
neutral · AI labelView post →DmC was a shit game first and foremost and the those trying to justify that people were being unfair to a video game always looked like clowns, Ninja Theory were also known hacks by that point and every article about them proved it in spades. Tameem sucking harder than we though changes nothing.
negative · AI labelView post →the twins posing like characters from certain uh fighting game #dmc
neutral · AI labelView post →There was a discussion at the JW about whether Control: Resonant is more of a DMC-style action game or a Kingdom Hearts style action game. The answer is the latter, if you're curious.
neutral · AI labelView post →Dan Southworth is the funniest guy ever what do you mean he leaked a new DMC game again
neutral · AI labelView post →DMCV is one of the best action games ever made but I kinda hate what that game did to action game discussion for a few years bc a lot of it was "this isn't like DMC so it's bad automatically"
neutral · AI labelView post →Takes credit for other people's work Massive Trump/Maga Supporter Sues people at the drop of a hat Claims it was his DMC pitch that caused DMC5 to be greenlit, but was angry that the game "stole the show's thunder" Deliberately put an OC based on Asmongold in DMC show that's off the top of my head
neutral · AI labelView post →I hate it so much when they make a definitive edition of a game, but it’s only available on consoles, Like Prototype 1.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"DMC being set in the 2000's feels weird because the game itself feels more like the 80's with the glam rock and metal." Nooooooooooooooooo no no no.
negative · AI labelView post →rebooting a game used to get us RE4 and DMC
neutral · AI labelView post →I recently played DMC 5 all over again, that game still rocks.
positive · AI labelView post →Perhaps the most misunderstood game in the DMC franchise. DMC 2 still sucks ass.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game dont listen to the sheep the combat is amazing
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Someone should make a video retrospective about every DMC game, but when they get to talking about the reboot they write and narrate that segment entirely in Spanish without ever acknowledging the language change
neutral · AI labelView post →Ignoring all the "This is not real DMC" matters, this is a very good game. It is too good tbh
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →God I was honestly craving another action game like DMC and I'm already fucking w this
positive · AI labelView post →control resonant looks aesthetically like DmC Devil May Cry, the best looking devil may cry game
positive · AI labelView post →Another dmc1 Dante. There will be More because I am indeed playing through the whole series (currently playing 3. Peak game) #dmc #devilmaycry #dante
positive · AI labelView post →god I wish this game played as good as DmC
positive · AI labelView post →Listen, its a fun ass game. Don't drink the auto-hate juice. Yeah, sure, whatever, a little off brand, but it is a fun time.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Now that Capcom has guaranteed they'll continue supporting the original series, I hope the reboot becomes an alternate series and continues to develop alongside the mainline games. The reboot has its own charm, and I'd really like to see how Western developers would create a modern game with combat system that has this much depth. CAPCOM PLEASE RELEASE DEFINITIVE EDITION TO PC!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Uh-oh... I'm going to get all DMC V on this game, aren't I? :O
neutral · AI labelView post →NG4s design made me appreciate DMC a lot more as a vastly more coherent combo game. DMC being based around single moves & weapon/style switch cancels means that u wont autopilot into combos from misinputs/mashing. & the game doesnt treat air juggles as a tactical liability so they never feel scrubby
neutral · AI labelView post →If I didn't picture my universe stuff as a fighting game, it'd absolutely be like DMC
neutral · AI labelView post →DMC2 was my first DMC game and I feel like that's a very enlightening experience.
neutral · AI labelView post →there's no way a new DMC game will get announced, get real!!! if TGS or State of Play announces a new Devil May Cry, I will suck ALL the girldicks

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Netflix DMC suffers the same problem as DmC:DMC. It's a good, some might say great, piece of media or game if it were to stand on its own merits and be treated as a brand new IP. But it is not what DMC is.
neutral · AI labelView post →Meanwhile a parry with a 15 frame window for anyone that's played DMC is basically free So it just becomes an impossible game to properly balance
neutral · AI labelView post →This DMC kick I've been on has been excellent research for the 3D character action game I'm gonna make one day (massive cope)
