neutral · AI labelView post →Julia Hart's DON'T SAY GOOD LUCK stars Sophie Sandler as a teenager starring in her high school production of WAITRESS while her mother, played by Melanie Lynskey, is dying. It's a decent little drama, but Lynskey is absolutely, heartbreakingly wonderful. My review is at @thewrap.com!

neutral · AI labelView post →Just watched this new movie on Netflix called DON'T SAY GOOD LUCK. A girl is cast as Jenna in her high school production of Waitress and her mom (Melanie Lynskey) has cancer and her grandma is Bebe Neuwirth. 10/10 if you want a good cry and a very good rendition of "She Used to Be Mine"

neutral · AI labelView post →I was taken surprise by that one when they pushed the trailer on me last week (caught Don't Say Good Luck which had a gay subplot, and Adam Sandler's daughter surrounded by a gay-beloved cast-- very good but heavy plot), it looks promising.
positive · AI labelView post →Just discovered Netflix shot a movie at my high school. "Don't Say Good Luck." You can see the outside of the building, the theater, and at least one hallway with our maroon lockers...
neutral · AI labelView post →Don't Say Good Luck, starring Sunny Sandler and Bebe Neuwirth, is a warm and deeply moving story of a Jewish family navigating love, loss, and the magic of the stage. This Shabbat, may we be inspired by Bebe's artistry and her lifelong pursuit of authenticity. Shabbat Shalom! 🎭️

positive · AI labelView post →I tried watching "Don't Say Good Luck" but as a former high school theatre kid I got so stressed out with PTSD, plus I couldn't buy that a school would actually support the drama department with promotional materials, or that a straight guy would try out for musical.

When considering all the other movies it shares many similarities, big and small, with in this genre, they're simply never going to make them like they used to. neutral · AI labelView post →Don't Say Good Luck on Netflix was a lovely surprise. It really captured the trauma teens go through by just existing but also showing the difficulties of the layers upon layers of extra shit one faces. I thought Sunny Sandler did an excellent job! Oh also, I cried. A lot.

She pulls away from her best friend because she's scared to come out to her. The cast also includes bi actress Stephanie Beatriz.
