I have bought the bundle with all Dread X Collection in a sale for 90% off (or some value like that) I’ve to say, unless you found yourself with the same discount, this one (the original Dread X One) is not worth it. This is by far the worst one in the series, which is both good (because the quality just improved with time) and bad (because it sucks). Most of it comes with the quality of each game feeling never …

Horror anthology with short, bizarre but memorable games. Some are hit, some are miss, but overall, it’s a pretty cool experience for the lovers of all things “odd”. Not sure if serious or sarcastic, but yeah! it's based off an indie horror game of the same name, made by David Szymanski. Another couple games that I at least recognize/am aware of that he also made are the boomer-shooter game Dusk and Squirrel Stapler which was part of the Dread X Collection.

⏳ I like the idea, but the first is already a rough one. Projects from events like these are usually free for a reason, and this is a collection of demos / concepts of truly mixed quality. For every okay one, there are 3-4 bland or downright bad ones. Some are completely unclear, time-wasting, unbalanced, dull, or simply broken. It's terrible when the worst thing in a horror game is the fear of losing or getting stuck, because you'll have to go through this tedious mess again. You can find…

I wish there was more to it. 5/10 Don't Go Out: Card system is neat, but gameplay loop and card diversity is so lacking it can't shine through. Goal is unclear at first, and too simple once you understand. 2/10 Hand of Doom: Cool concept, and graphics are fun. I don't like giving bad reviews but I honestly can't recommend this collection. The three games that I really enjoyed were pony factory, shatter, and summer night. They were all short but were competently made and fun to play. I wasn't a fan of hand of doom or don't go out and didn't play much of either but they are high-effort and would be fun if you're into that genre. Since this game is a collection of 10 small games. I'm going to talk about each one of them individually and then give my final opinion. The order of the games is the order I played them: Hand of Doom This didn't look like an appealing game initially with the old-school style it has (I'm not nostalgic towards that). But the game surprised me in a pleasant way. I liked how the spells were used. I would have never remembered all of them by heart, luckily they're all written in your grimoire…

A collection of 10 horror games. Yeah, it's quite cheap. But I still don't think this worth it. Most of the games are not scary at all, and are often boring, tedious and even buggy. Some of them I would still rate negative if they would release for free standaone. Just 2 or 3 of the games are good and one of them, The Pony Factory, you can even buy standalone

What demon thought "We should add this game called Rotgut where you walk EXTREMELY SLOW, make it VERY GLITCHY, and have nothing happen for 20 minutes wasting the persons time who bought this game!" A really weak first showing. Neat concept but with only a week to create a game it doesn't differentiate itself from a regular game jam, so right off the bat you know there's an extremely low chance for any game to be polished or fleshed out, no matter how small it is, so what you're left with is a bunch of either walking simulators or neat but badly executed ideas. I recommend just watching the playthroughs on youtube if you MUST experience them for whatever reason you have. Of course, if you…

Hard to beat the value for your money with a 10 game anthology in this game. It's definitely worth the price. The game took me about 6 hours to beat, and the games you play range in graphics style and overall quality considerably. It feels like a bunch of demos for which you should pay. It is cool consept, if you not thinking about it, but less time - less prorerly functioning games and less good ideas. Loots of games works junky and did not scare at all. There was some interesting ideas and atmospheric moments, but not much. If you like paying for playing some obscure demos, with questionable qualitys, go ahead, others probably can find something better to do.

Well, it certainly is what it is advertised at. Which is to say, a bunch of very, very rough proofs of concept for various spooky games, and even though they have pretenses of further development, it's clear they all have a long way to go. Hand of Doom and Summer Night are easily the best ones, if only because they have the closest thing to a concrete sense of polish out of the entire collection. I just finished all the games in this collection today. Some are good, some are meh. For titles I liked, Summer Night, The Outsiders, and Shatter are standouts here. All solid experiences. I also liked the idea behind Hand of Doom, but it felt fairly rough, but I know that one has a full game now and this version is just a teaser from way back. For mixed to bad, Mr Bucket Told Me to was an ok experience, but very slow and rough. Pony Factory was pretty decent. A very basic shooter, dealing…

This "Game" is basically a collection of 10 horror demos. Some of them are great finished horror experiences like Pony factory, a few of them are more of a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ games like Mr. Bucket told me to, but also there are games that without a YT Guide are too confusing to even know what i'm supposed to do. This Collection is saved by the fact that it's very cheap, so for the price on a discount it's not that bad. Still the best way to describe this Collection would be calling it: The Good, the Bad…

Dread x is a collection of small indie horror games made in 7 days. I briefly wrote a review of every game. Summer night Lcd game made into a terrifying horror game. One of the highlights. The pay is nice. Forgettable game which just ends when you think it's starting to get good. Carthanc Another banger game. You explore a tomb and do a bit of puzzle solving. Mr bucket told me to Survival game with a funny theme. Hand of doom Game made to look like a dos game. The old d&d vibe makes it's…

Real mixed bag here, I really like the concept of getting a bunch of people together for a jam but I really don't know if I can recommend it. But by all means please keep learning and pursuing gaming!

Rotgut is an abomination and DreadX should be ashamed of themselves for including it. I don't care if they only had a week. Either take the time to make it not suck, or cut it. Other than that, the rest are decent to good. There's a few cool ideas and good executions of some things, but nothing really stands out as exceptional. Pony Factory had great lighting and atmosphere. Shatter had an interesting world. Outsiders had a cool sort of time loop mechanic where you learn each time you…

This is highly creative: it's like exploring an old demo CD, with games you wished to play as full versions. "Shatter" is phenomenal. And "Hands of Doom" turned into a full game, which I'm really happy about. Some of the games are borderline crappy but the overall impression makes me interested in more.
