What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 172 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (389 of 442 positive).
Players find the game fun and hilarious with friends, praising its co-op chaos. [1][2][3] Many note the game is too short, with only three levels and limited replay value. [4][5][6] Some reviewers report technical issues like connection problems or glitchy physics. [4][7]

This game is... something. It does look like a fun game, the mechanics are interesting, there's a lot of elements from other games like Peak and Pratfalls. BUT the game has 3 levels WITH "Challenges" which would make you play the same level over and over again with no randomization. It took me and my friends less than 2 hours to finish the levels, twice. Honestly fun but not worth it, the replay value it's not there.

got gifted this by one of my closest friends, didn't think much of it as i loaded it up. i mean, we've all played the mobile "dwtd" games and loved them, and besides i've played a lot of these party physics based games but guys, what a pleasant surprise this was. it can be frustrating, and it requires some real thinking at a few certain moments and some accurate aim, but with that being said it's probably one of the …

From the trailer i guess this would be a fun game to play. But actually playing the game with friends....its pretty damn good. Lots of laughs and tears when your idiotic friends betrays you and shoots you off a plank or tight rope just for funsies. 100% would recommend people giving this game a shot.

Playing it for the first time, the game seems really polished and the art style looks amazing. It's a fun game to play with friends and I would totally recommend this. As I played through the game, I was impressed. The colors are nice and the game is very easy to understand. The UI is really appealing and the music is perfect. You can also play Solo which is a nice addition. Once again, I would highly recommend this …

neutral · AI labelView post →game is pretty good, i see alot of negative reviews but it seems most of those are due to connection issues wich i assume are going to get fixed, i havent had any since i just played solo, as for the game it self its pretty good, no lag or FPS drops, props get stuck in places sometimes but nothing too gamebreaking, only real complaint is that its pretty short, only 3 levels with a hard mode variant that only changes things a little bit, now i havent played all the hard modes (only the first…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Game is really fun, the only big issue that I have is levels. the game only has 3 levels, if the devs keep making levels and let us create our own levels and publish it via workshop, it will be great

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So far very fun! cant wait to find some friends to play with, cant wait to play other dwtd games!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ok, a bit of context first: I'm used to "friendslop" games where you're supposed to "create your own fun" in a sandbox-style environment. This isn't one of those games. We genuinely had fun just by playing the game and engaging with the interactions it provides. We were trying to help each other while avoiding getting in the way without try harding. So, about this game: Is it a friendslop? Yes. I don't think this game even tries to appeal to a single-player audience. Is it a BAD…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Worth its price, enjoyable with friends (Sometimes). A bit too short. hope they will add more levels or add the option to create custom runs
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dumb Ways to Build does not have a fishing minigame, but it does a fishing *mechanic*!! #dumbwaystobuild #indiegame #gaming #videogames #fishing #fishingminigame
positive · AI labelView post →A game with 3 stages. You could literally finish it in 2 hours and get a refund. Otherwise fine.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i like to imagine anyone who leaves a negative review on this game as a fat lifeless 40 year old man who tries to find the bad in everything. "the replay value is not there" shut up
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game feels like badly made AI slop. The entire premise seems to be that the controls are intentionally horrible, and it's virtually impossible to complete the simple task you're supposed to do. Want to put one box on top of another? That'll take you ten minutes of arguing with the glitchy physics engine to actually make it stay long enough to "nail" down, without causing every other object to fling randomly off into the distance at high speed. I think the idea is that you'll laugh with…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hey Devs, thank you so, so, so much for making a wonderful last experience for my wife. She passed a few days ago, but she loved playing this with me, trying to do a no die run before I accidentally die at the end, laughing at all the crazy stuff we could do, scurrying like rats to the top of the sewer, you really have made a wonderful game, and again, thank you so, so, so incredibly much for giving us wonderful memories. Edit: I also just wanted to say, this was the last game she and I ever…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very fun to play with friends i hope they release more maps in the future, on my part no connection issues everything ran smooooth. really looking forward for more
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Extremely solid, Looking forward to them releasing more maps. The amount of tools and depth in the game are great compared to the usual friend slop.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The last game I worked on at PlaySide revealed: Dumb Ways To Build! I led the initial prototype’s design alongside a small game jam team. Once greenlit for full production I took charge of level iteration/refinement, designing/balancing the tools and the achievements system. youtu.be/HiY8DXaUNG0?...
positive · AI labelView post →Fun friendslop, potential for very funny moments without having to force it
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's one battery, how hard could it be to replace?
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Running amazingly on the Steam Deck. Game is hilarious, but I guess it depends on who you play it with. Had no issues with the lobby setup and connection. The game has proximity chat that alters your voice on certain situations. Overal the game is really fun with a controller. I don't know about keyboard and mouse though.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →its like trying to reach inconvenient spots in coop gmod but with extra gimmicks and challenges fun and interesting to play!! hope more maps will be added later
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →actually laughed so hard it hurt, defo worth the few bucks. my poop pc could run it so defo do try it out! excited for new maps
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is a lot of fun, and the trophies aren't particularly hard or easy, it all depends on who you're playing with and your playstyle.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Watched my mate miss 10 nails, drop every piece of furniture, and then fall off a ledge from a "misclick", and float to the heavens. 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →That’s right, guys! Dumb Ways to Build is really incredible, in which it is the game that takes on the original version, Dumb Ways to Die! You can check out this video here today! 😊

neutral · AI labelView post →it is very fun yet stressful. I have screamed on multiple occasions and couldn't breath from laughing on multiple occasions. I was very worth the price
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My wife and I have a lot of fun with this game, honestly one of the best coop experiences ever. So excited to see the new levels and future updates 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has a lot of potential. The physics are great, the gameplay is fun, and the overall performance is very smooth. However, it currently needs more levels and fresh ideas to keep it engaging. Since it is still a new release, I will be waiting to see what the developers add in future updates, as the core foundation is definitely solid.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The Game has a lot. A lot of: -potential -chaos -small bugs -game breaking bugs -and more bugs We couldn't finish the first level because the game became unplayable at some point every time. In the first run, I could no longer use the "interact" button (I even tried to change the key binding but to no avail). I was the last one alive and jumped off a building. But instead of the Game Over Screen, we all remained dead with no way to leave. So we restarted the game manually. In the second run…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →when new levels... 3 is not a lot
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly really fun and well made. Hope they release some more content for it through in the future since i beat it with friends in 3 hours or so. Anyway definitely recommended!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good game. Needs more maps
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I downloaded this game expecting to build tall things, instead i build resilience and several new reasons to question my intelligence. 10/10 character development
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game taught me that I am not an architect, engineer, builder, or even someone who should be trusted with a hammer. 10/10 would recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →FOUND THE DUMBEST WAYS TO BUILD!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you want my TLDR of this game, I'll sum it up as if you enjoy Peak, you'll also enjoy this. While there's only 3 maps to play at the time of writing this review, there's a ton of replayability with them and lots to grind for. Easily worth the full price. For those who want a more in-depth review, this game is basically Peak with more to do during your adventures. You climb to the top and/or the bottom of levels trying to accomplish certain goals, sometimes within a limited window of time.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought this game thinking I was going to peacefully build my way to the top. Turns out the real objective is to see how quickly your mates can commit a workplace violation. One minute you're carefully stacking objects, the next someone is chasing you with a nail gun like they're being paid commission for every nail they put in you. The tower isn't even the hardest part. Surviving your friends is. Would recommend to anyone who enjoys construction, teamwork and completely unnecessary violence.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →good needs more lefels
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dumb ways to Refund the game
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Didn't know construction worker was this fun, Grab a hammer then use it on friends = pure chaos and fun. my final rating (8/10)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dumb Ways to Build turns construction work into a deliberately messy playground where questionable engineering can be just as entertaining as finding the correct solution. Developed and published by Dumb Ways to Die, it combines physics-based building, cooperative problem solving, platforming, and slapstick comedy. Instead of demanding careful architectural precision, the game encourages players to improvise with whatever materials and tools are available while accepting that their creations…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Looks fun but in reality it is a stress inducing and boring af, go find something else if you are trying to find a game to play with ur friends.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played with my mates and had a blast!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Insofar as you can design for chaos, Dumb Ways to Build has distilled it. Read the full review here: https://www.jetsonplaysgames.com/post/dumb-ways-to-build

neutral · AI labelView post →Really bad performance issues when looking at cars and especially at the oil rig -- small frame-rate drops when progressing these levels and it is usually sometimes slow in lobby. Will be playing this again when this issue is fixed.
