This game is interesting but it's got some pretty glaring bugs like save data being deleted or the game consistently crashing on startup that the developer seems to have ignored, as the game was abandoned in 2024. Edit: Apparently the developer has fixed these bugs as of 5/21/2026. Maybe give it a try?

This game is hard. Achieved the first ending, and although progress through the game feels extremely rewarding (in the sense of the permanent upgrades you can get for your character) I couldn't help but notice that I was never at that perfect spot in the middle of a roguelike run in which you feel like you can push all the way to the end but you are not absolutely OP so much so that it trivializes the game. I recommend playing this game with no guides, just write what u find in ur notebook. The only gripe I have so far is the low FOV that makes me motion sick after a while, but it is part of the aesthetic so I just power through lol. Other than that, fun dungeon crawler with a cool grimey crunchy aesthetic.

Don't use the wiki, delve in yourself and be a kid exploring again From the notebook and manual to the NPCs and secrets, this game oozes personality and feels similar to your first time playing through tunic or a souls game, this game will whoop your ass until you become the wiki and fill your notepad with all the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ you need to blitz through. My one main complaint is the lack of item cycling, there are a lot …

neutral · AI labelView post →Back when I played Battlespire, someone asked me what that game would be like if it was made by an indie developer today, and I answered "it would be good." I can now be more specific: it would be Dungeons of Blood and Dream. And it is good!
positive · AI labelView post →Dungeons of Blood and Dream has a notebook that you can actually scribble in with your blood, awesome feature, more games need that, i captured some things ive seen in the game :> (even tho this thing is actually for writing down spells you find in the world :p)

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is very cool and I highly recommend it. I should also add that the recommended specs are not lying. Despite the game's simplistic graphics, it is not well optimized. Boss fights tend to tank FPS a lot on low spec systems. I think the boss named "The Killer" should be renamed "The Frame Rate Killer."

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played this in the middle of winter with a broken leg and under heavy pain medication. I can confidently say that this game is wonderful under these very specific circumstances. The moment to moment gameplay is fierce and twitchy, but the overall experience is slow and hypnotic. The presentation is bursting with personality. The game is designed to be played over a long period of time. I was surprised about the amount of consideration with which new abilities and locations are revealed.…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I want to love this game, but I just can't recommend it. A game with graphics this simple shouldn't get horrible lag spikes, but it does. Boss fights periodically become a an unplayable slide show. I hope it will be fixed in the future, but the game hasn't updated since 2024. The name puzzle gives completely ambiguous hints. Even after collecting all the hints and trying dozens of combinations, you will probably just have to look it up online. Bad design,

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Please enter the mind prison and do not drink potions that smell like cheese. Mine patience has been exhausted by thine hateful magics. I enjoyed unlocking all the achievements. The game is filled with charming dialogues and tons of details that did not go unnoticed. The combat system felt a bit clunky at first but it became smooth once I got used to it. You will be harvested.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Every Woman.s Dream Game. If you like Vermis and plastiboo, you will REALLY enjoy this. PLS ADD TO NINTENDO SWITCH!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →playing Dungeons of Blood and Dream - it owns.
positive · AI labelView post →one of the most rewarding roguelites to play, even though it is extremely punishing of ignorance and lack of skill 100%ing this game didn't feel like a slog through meaningless annoying achievements, it just felt like another run that i hoped to be lucky or skillful enough to complete i hope the dev updates or works on a similar project such as this
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The promise and vibes are cool, but I just can't recommend this game in its current state. The balancing is very skewed towards your health economy - mind you, I don't have any issue with this, but the corresponding hit detection of enemies, hitboxes, and unpredictable pathing makes engagements not very fun.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love chugging piss potions
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Im the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ wizard C-E-O bro, DONT ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ MESS WITH ME IM GONNA BLAST YOU. Fr tho this game is cashmoney asf and deserves a solid playthrough. Amazing visuals. Crazy wizard action. Hoes and gambling.... It's got a little bit of everything. This game truly makes you feel like a schizoid femcel going to the supermarket to buy a monster.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →i love that you can see all the rings you put on, visuals for upgrades are always dope.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game captures the experience of being a blood wizard in a dream very well 8/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Matt also selected some incredible games here. Open up any one of these and be delighted. For instant gratification and strangeness, I would highlight 'Dungeons of Blood and Dream' - an immediately weird, charming game.
positive · AI labelView post →Feed Kenneth as soon as possible if you want to 100% this pixel BS game or get stuck inside your own real mind prison for ~63 hours.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, but i feel some extra content or DLC would be awesome.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of my favorite games ever. This game was made with so much creative love and passion, I cannot recommend it enough. Please do not look anything up while you play, it is worth the effort of figuring it out yourself.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Been hyper fixated on this game since I first played it!! I love the music and godly crunch!!!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm going to dream about this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The dungeon synth art style is awesome, the ost fits perfectly, and every mechanic or feature is well thought out and serves a purpose. 10/10 new fav game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'd really love to reccomend this game, but i really can't do that in good mind, even tho i will admit this game art style, rings mechanics, spell casting and notebook are cool, here's the biggest problem, the game is janky, like "Enemy is going towards you, goes over spikes and flies into orbit for a moment" kind, not to mention spell casting is kinda ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, do to it costing health and some spells being mid to outright bad for you, even spells i spam which are "Summon gollem" (Stays for…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of my favorite games, but I will say that it can be very difficult, and it gets a bit dull repeating the same section repeatedly. Other than that the vibes are entirely immaculate, and (almost) overwhelmingly dungeon crawler. I've never seen or experienced anything like it. I can smell the mold, and damp gore as if it were a scented candle actively burning in my room. The crunch and static options in the settings are amazing, but the crunching also applies to the text, which can be a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is great and very fun. Im unsure if its the game or steam cloud save data, but my game data was lost entirely and i am unable to recover it. The game crashes a lot and I believe my situation may be a byproduct of that.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Please play this game. It is such a blast and loads of fun, and sometimes, terrifying. 10/10, feed Kenneth always
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Artstyle is cool and game is challenging. But when the game stutters si heavily like your pc has a stroke, to the point you take damage not because of skill issue, because the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game stutters, you take pointless hits and even die. Not playable in this state, would be fun if it worked.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I have to say, after about 20 minutes this is some of the coolest @#$#@ #$@ i've ever seen. If I change my mind I'll edit this but WOW, every run so far has reminded me of Nethack but DARKER in the way weird things you do can kill you. Really interesting, neat, horrific stuff too. It feels to me so far like a combination of Nethack and Kings Field. There's a lot going on here. If you played Lunacid and like the obscure weird spells, strange interactions and things like that, this is doing that…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Did a quite a few runs and managed to get an ending, feels like there's a fair amount to hunt around for in regards to secrets and lore, worth picking up especially on sale. Although it is fairly difficult it will give you the tools to make future runs easier. Kinda cruelty squad visual mixed with DND on LSD
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's not terrible, that's not really my problem. What I dislike is that the game never reaches its full potential as it were. It has a solid foundation, gameplay and everything wise but never really goes much past it. Ends up feeling like it's unfinished or has parts missing. Also, the bosses are very boring.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Addictive, Challenging, Creative, and Retro. Dungeons Of Blood And Dream has very thought provoking lore, a fun and intuitive gameplay loop, and oozes personality. After attaining the last achievement "Blood Wizard," I'd give this game a strong 9.5/10. Near-perfect, I just wish there were more weapons and endings! (and that gnomes weren't so annoying)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So even though this is a negative review, this game is still an interesting game and is worth a play or two. It just wasn't for me and might not be for people similar to me. Making this thumb down one that is hard to tank as I'm writing this review, even though being honest with myself, I wouldn't recommend this game. As interesting as the mechanics are and as impressive as this game is when it comes to lore, ambiance and mystery, the execution is not well done enough for me to wanna keep…

neutral · AI labelView post →Almost a good game Story (?/5) Story is not the point of this game. Following a horrific incident, Blood Wizard ends up trapped within the Mind Prison of a dangerous entity. With his powers crippled, he is forced to resort to fickle and unreliable sleep magic to attempt his escape. To earn freedom, he must fight his way through perilous dungeons of Dream, seek advice from mysterious locals and discover secrets. This is what's written in the description of the game, and that is all there is to…
