Enclave
Developer Starbreeze
Enclave is an action-adventure game developed by Starbreeze Studios and released for the Xbox in July 2002. Set in a medieval fantasy realm, players can choose to take on the role of either a "Warrior of Light" or a "Minion of Darkness", complete with separate and unique missions reflecting the nature of that decision. A Microsoft Windows port was released in March 2003. A GameCube version was also in development… From Wikipedia (CC BY-SA 4.0)

What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 188 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Mostly Positive (5,281 of 6,639 positive).
Players praise the game's atmosphere and soundtrack, calling it charming and nostalgic. [1][2][3] Many note the combat is janky and dated, with technical issues on modern systems. [4][5][6] Some reviewers criticize the addition of Russian voiceover, calling it a disgrace. [7][8]

Adding russian voiceover to a 22-year-old game in the fourth year of the largest war in Europe since World War II, unleashed by russian terrorists, is an incredible disgrace.

Enclave is like finding an old fantasy VHS in your attic: a bit dusty, a bit clunky, but still kind of charming. The combat feels stiff in that early‑2000s PC game way, yet somehow I kept going because the atmosphere is just that cozy. Not amazing, not terrible, just a solid experience. [7.5/10]

Enclave is a genuinely charming 2002 hack-and-slash that punches above its weight in atmosphere — the haunting soundtrack, beautifully crafted level design, and dual light/dark campaigns give it a personality that still holds up today. The combat is rough around the edges, with notoriously janky hit detection that will frustrate melee characters especially, but playing as the ranged classes like the Huntress makes …

Climb and defeat huge monsters, toss creatures and objects, burn, freeze, smash the world, and enjoy a fully-voiced cast as you explore the ruins of the Enclave. store.steampowered.com/app/1491410/...

It was just a cheap mug from IKEA, cream-coloured. Out of habit, I drank from it without giving it much thought. One day, I dropped it—butterfingers. I was in the kitchen and lost focus. It hit the floor. The handle came off, and the rim chipped. I sanded the edges to make it easier to carry. I didn’t throw it out. I glued the chip back in place. It still worked, but it…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The "evil route" in this game is like if Fallout 2 allowed you join the Enclave, subdue all the cities & factions, then decide if you serve the President or kill him and take his place. It's so fun! Again, really wish more people played & discussed these games... they do so many interesting things.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I actually like the main plot of #Fallout3 even if the game forces you to fill in the blanks on The Enclave. I don't think it's anything amazing, but the absolute desolation of the wasteland and the lack of clean water is something I can feel invested in. The setting and goals alone do it for me.

neutral · AI labelView post →It's really odd that after all these years of this game sitting abandoned by Starbreeze, only to receive an update out of the blue. Was the game patched to work properly on modern systems? Nope! Still a broken mess. So what changed? Good question! They added RU translations to the game, that's it. You know, the nation that invaded another nation unprovoked, the nation committing crimes against humanity? Yeah, that one! Of course the publisher claims they have good relations on both sides, but…

neutral · AI labelView post →We did it! Frank Horrigan is no longer and we completed Fallout 2. If you're playing this game, don't head to The Enclave oil rig without having at least 95 Speech stat. Thanks to everyone who tuned in! Special thanks to twitch.tv/TopRedBear for the raid!
neutral · AI labelView post →game is lighting fast, you press a key and you walk 20 meter in 0.5s ; the game is not even adapting to CPU cycles.. If you run it on a PC from the late 90s that your grandpa donated, then you might be fine, otherwise you just wasted your money on something totally unplayable. I will edit this review if the game ever get fixed. For now it is junk.

neutral · AI labelView post →It's not the GAME ROLE that I have a problem with about the fucking Enclave. It's the fans. See, the Enclave's in-world party line is "we are the legitimate continuation of the United States Government. We did not fall, so it is still Our Nation to Rule and Dominate". This is bullshit.

neutral · AI labelView post →They charge extra for some artwork. The game is a classic, I played it 20 years ago. Collected every piece of gold and beat it many times. Only problem is, that it does not run properly. But they charge extra for some artwork and it costs twice as much as all that time ago on a DVD. So naturally, I can not recommend anyone to support this fraud.

They let Caesar be the villain and they make him a Hegelian fascist as a subtle knock against Stalin. FNV feels like all the factions are different Marxist sects and enclave
neutral · AI labelView post →Once a solid action-adventure title, Enclave shows every day of its two-decade lifespan. While it was a pretty good game upon its original release, time has not been kind. The visual fidelity and often clunky combat mechanics haven't aged gracefully, making the current experience feel decidedly lackluster. Unless you possess a heavy dose of nostalgia for its unique dark fantasy world, it’s difficult to recommend this title today. It’s an artifact best left to dedicated retro fans.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It was a pretty good old game. For some meaningless reason they decided to add terrorist voice now, 22 years later. "Great idea", I wish the company to bankrupt as soon as possible, if it can't differentiate terrorism from human relations.

The environments carry a dark fantasy atmosphere that occasionally reminds you of classic RPGs from the same era. It obviously can't compete with modern titles, but its visuals have aged far better than many games of its generation and remain easy to tolerate even today. Gameplay & Combat: 6/10 The biggest problem isn't necessarily the combat itself—it's how poorly the game behaves…

Some of the textures are shockingly good looking for a game this old, and the voice acting is pretty good but besides those areas it felt like the only time effort was applied was in creating some of the female character's butts.
