Honestly I really enjoyed my time with the game but if I had paid full price for it, I would be livid. It's about 2 hours long, has no replay value, and yet is priced about the same as Escape Academy (2x longer) and Escape Simulator 1&2 (3-4x longer, and has workshop support). If you see this on big discount It makes for a great little evening, but if you are at all conscious of price per hour, I'd be wary of buying …

It's a fun little game, but very short. Only 2,5 hours of play. The price is too high in comparison, especially since these kind of games don't have replay value (other than achievement farming). Buy it at a big discount.

I 100% the game, which can be done in 2 to 5 hours. This is a nice, cozy, escape room type puzzle game, similar to We Were Here games, but without co-op. The game looks nice, slightly better than what you would expect from this type of game, maybe. The atmosphere is decently done - manages to be both cozy and mysterious. This game is cute and the short amount I played was fun, but the motion blur when you move around gave me motion sickness, and unfortunately there is no option to turn it off within the settings. It's disappointing because I feel like I would have really liked this game if it didn't make me feel sick to play.

I was actually enjoying the game, but I needed to go to bed to get up for work in the morning, and it wouldn't let me save progress mid-way through a room. You have to reach each checkpoint before it lets you save, and since I was playing it pretty casually that was an hour of work down the drain! I mean, yes, I could just re-do all the puzzles I'd already solved, but that's nowhere near as satisfying as picking up where you left off. If they ever add a mid-room save option I might play again.…

A very nice but short puzzle game! I'd say, great for beginners. Made by Swedish Indie devs, this game is both pretty streamlined & charming, which makes it a crisp experience. You get 4 big escape rooms with plenty of puzzles within. 99.9% of them are great! The name "Mystwood" also reminds me of MYST, don't know if it was intentional. MYST still sends shockwaves through the puzzle genre, even after 30+ years! The only TRUE FLAW of the game is when a part of the puzzle says "Ten to Four"…

If you’re in the mood for a puzzle game, but don’t have the headspace right now to really get into a full length game, Escape from Mystwood Mansion can be a perfect shorter game to spend an evening on and be done with it. It’s “How long to beat” estimate is 3-4 hours. Being a bit tired and burnt out but wanting to engage my brain a bit, that sounded perfect for me. If you’re in a similar boat right now you might feel the same, but the question to ask yourself is if it’s worth the asking price…

I don't think I saw a single puzzle in the game that I haven't seen in another game, so it's not worth it for the puzzles alone. The aesthetic is pretty boring too, the mansion is just not that interesting or eclectic in its design. The biggest mistake they made with this game is the fact that you can't save your progress in the middle of a room. If a room takes 40 minutes and you only have 20 minutes to play or want to take a break, well, too bad, you lose all your progress and have to start…

A nice escape room game. Each level is one room. There are quite a bit of different puzzles. The game is kinda short, but thanks to that it does not overstay it's welcome and repeats the same puzzles/riddles. The difficulty is imho medium. You have to be observant to find everything but no very difficult puzzles. The games only saves at the start of a new room, so if you left in the middle you have to redo some stuff, but if you know the solution already it's manageable. All in all i can…

This game is great. The puzzles make sense and feel satisfying, the hint system helps nudge you in the right direction without flat out telling you the solution, and the art style is simple, cohesive, and easy to look at for hours. So why do I not recommend buying it? Simply put: The Price This game does not have the length, nor originality, to justify such a high price. Even on sale for 50% off it still felt a bit too steep for the amount of content I got. Even when I spent a bunch of extra…

The lack of a Manuel save is a basic feature that is missing Who wants to solve a whole bunch of puzzles, then repeat it all over again because you couldn’t complete the level all in one sitting? I got as far as halfway through the library, then just used a guide to finish the game because I wasn’t going to be able to solve all the remaining puzzles before having to leave the game. I didn’t want to repeat my work because i couldn’t manually save, so I cheated the ending.

Most of the puzzles are great, but actually playing this game is a chore. Why not just have an inventory system? Why limit the player to holding a single item at a time? And why not have some sort of notebook system where notes and pictures can be stored and referenced? Why not make this experience enjoyable instead of tedious? I'd also strongly prefer the ability to save and return to a room rather than losing all progress in a room after quitting a play session, but that's less significant…

Just finished playing this with my wife. This is a very 6/10 puzzle game. I'd still recommend it just to kill time. It's not bad. It's just missing some fundamental escape room concepts. The game locks you into a room (or rooms) and you can just start solving puzzles. Usually there's 3-4 puzzle branches that all lead to items to unlock the final puzzle. Where the game really suffers by just throwing puzzles at you with no rhyme or reason. A good puzzle box is like a onion. You peel away…

Honestly, one of the best Escape games i've played. Good pacing, without dumb puzzles (or nonsensical, out-there puzzles). Not too long either, but all a good time. Just got a little annoyed about the last "bonus" puzzle... but in retrospective, it made sense.

The negatives: - The progression is very linear. You solve one area, unlock the next, and repeat. There isn't much freedom in how you approach the mansion, although the individual rooms are varied enough that it doesn't become too repetitive. - The package achievement. Now for the positives: - The puzzles are really fun. There's a good mix of searching for clues, figuring out how different objects fit together, and actually solving puzzles. You're constantly looking around the mansion for…

A fine escape room style game. The puzzles are simple, and nothing new, all gimmicks I've seen before. I know it's probably hard to be creative in this space when there are plenty of games like this. The game is fairly simple and straight forward. None of the puzzles are that hard and took very long. To get the actual ending, you have to jump through some hoops, only one of which really creates any real challenge, and that's because of the way the game works, not because it's a difficult…

I can recommend it, but with a bit of a caveat. The puzzles are, for the most part, very reasonable and solvable. There was never a point I felt like aliens from the moon were coming up with solutions. It's a fun little romp all things considered. The only caveat is that I was able to beat this game without a walkthrough in about 2.5 hours. Take that into consideration on if you want to wait for a sale or not.

There are some good ideas here and I think it would be a great game for kids. As an adult, it was sadly over way too fast and most of the puzzles were way to obvious and on the easy side. I would've loved to see more complex puzzles that would need some more thinking, as most of the puzzles are basically spelled out for you. So a bit too much hand holding for my taste.

A very fun puzzle experience with beautiful art. While I do really like this game, I do have two problems with it: it's really short and it's really easy. I got 100% of the achievements in less than 3 hours and cleared my first run with no hints without too much difficulty. For the current price they're asking for that felt a little short to me. I still would say I got my money's worth, but if that's something that would bother you, buy this on sale.

Escape From Mystwood Mansion is a nice and short game that chains escape rooms together. This always means that the current room is never too big or complex, but at the same time carries an inherent problem with the design - the game doesn't let you save in the middle of a room. Usually it's fast to follow your footsteps back to where you were, but in case you need to stop the game for days or week, it's better to be aware of it. Though... it's only 4-5 hours. The puzzle design is really nice.…

The puzzles aren't obtuse enough to leave you scratching your head for half an hour, the graphics look good, and the game's length falls in the perfect goldilocks region I hope from this genre of games. It made good on all my earlier complaints: the mansion is thoughtfully organized as much like an actual living space as possible, a constraint that hugely improves the experience, and there's just enough of a plot to give you intrinsic motivation. Most of the puzzles are well designed, with a nicely balanced difficulty, never too easy but rarely too challenging, making the overall progression enjoyable. it's really competently made. the riddles have a great logic to them. Most of them i could understand/solve without using hints. Personally i would like the story to be more present. Other games have more story parts or narration scattered throughout or inbetween chapters. Even when the story feels tacked on, that's something i enjoy. As someone who played quite a few excapre room games, i can absoulutely reccomend this game, especially when you can catch a sales deal.
