Excellent game. A mix of Gone Home, Return of the Obra Din and Tacoma. Playing as a future time traveller you have to save six people who die in a house fire in 1995, in order to fix the future. A really cool idea for a game, essentially exploring and tweaking around a long movie, trying to prevent disaster with your changes. Lots of interdependent changes and many outcomes, and the UI makes it decently easy to keep all the changes more or less catalogued. Eternal Threads is an interesting little indie game. At its core it is an investigation game, walking simulator and a movie. You play as a detective, similar in feel to that game "Observer (2017)". Investigate the house and eavesdrop on the 6 tenants like in "Tacoma (2017)". Gather clues and piece together the story like in "Her Story (2015)". Beside your time manipulation investigation, the story of these people is deceivingly at the heart of the game, same a "South of the Circle (2022)"…

Imagine writing a fantastic three-page paper and finding out the night before it's due that it was supposed to be thirty pages. That's Eternal Threads. I was ready to give Eternal Threads a positive review regardless of how good the game was because I'm such a sucker for messing with timelines and it was four dollars, so the game had to work hard to break me down and it succeeded! There are a ludicrous number of points in the timeline you're repairing, each with a 15-30 second hologram…

We are no longer in Kansas Toto Tom Cruise has lost his wingman, he will step through the wardrobe, where there is no lion and the only witch is, well her name is Miranda. Oh, and there is plenty of ice-cream and TV. This game is more than a choices-matter, it's an exploration deep into the lives of 6 housemates, and their movie-buff companion Ian. Littered with movie references, the housemates banter hides the very deep adult topics, from alcoholism, gambling and illegal drugs, to guilt,…

The concept looked interesting : travel through time to save people. Well, it ends up to be a game of college student with everyday problems: pregnancy, drinking problem, ex-girl friend issues, etc. where you must listen to endless conversation and once in while make a decision that might change the outcome of their lives. Some might like it, but I did not.

I found this to be a pretty decent game. It reminds me of games like Gone Home and Tacoma with how you explore the house and view the past events but adds time travel and altering the past into the mix. The player is tasked with watching the events of their last days and then manipulating those events to save the housemates from their original fate. Theres a…

the fact this this game lets you choose an "abridged" or "normal" version tells you everything. you watch over 100 mundane cutscenes via hologram in a dark house and occasionally get to change a decision a character makes so they survive the ending. that's it, that's the game. the scenes suffer from very poor or cliche writing and are not entertaining enough to slog through over 100 of them. maybe 10 or so are worth watching for the plot. but my biggest gripe is that the house is super dark…

Simple and Good Story Tries to Be Bigger Than It Actually Is This game really pumps up the expectations so much: the trailer in the shop, the loading screen, the main menu and the first minutes of the game tell you: there's something BIG here. The whole world might depend on it. And it has time travel. So yeah, of course, I'm into it! Later though I understood that the scale was smaller, much smaller. Not in a bad way, though. One of the best narrative walking sims I've played. How certain decisions impact others was complex and also rewarding. I enjoyed learning about each person and encouraging them to deepen their relationships with each other. I'm hoping that with how the game concluded, some sort of follow up game or dlc is added in the future.

This game is a character drama turned inside out. 6 people with "normal" (as in, kinda messed up) lives trying to get along. There's some harsh topics involved: child abuse, PTSD, relationship strife, and drunken sex with room mates (not-explicit, sorry incels). I imagine younger people may not enjoy it as much because while the characters are mostly young, they are mature adults with genuine personas. And it's English, where maturity levels haven't been compromised by idiot podcasters…

A short but satisfying story driven puzzle game with some mild investigation required. The writing is engaging, and it's easy to get caught up in the tumultuous, complex lives of each of the housemates. The puzzles were very simple and the story flowed well, keeping me engaged for a few hours in a row. The game is on the shorter end - I finished it in 11.5 hours. If you take your time and go through the different choices in the story line, there's more scenarios to experience.

Eternal Threads stands out because its mechanics are intimately built around time, consequence, and player agency. The core loop isn’t combat — it’s observation, deduction, and temporal manipulation, and every tool supports that elegantly. The time mechanic is the heart of the experience. Rewinding and replaying scenes isn’t just a gimmick — it’s the primary method of gathering information and testing hypotheses. Every action you take can ripple forward, and the game tracks causality in a way…

I wanted to write a review because I feel like this game doesn't have enough reviews for how enjoyable it was! I will try to make my review spoiler free! The game is about exploring a timeline of events in the week prior to a tragedy that takes the lives of 6 people. Your goal is the alter points in the timeline to save them all. The game starts out kind of holding your hand on what to do, but then it lets you basically explore the timeline in any order you like, as is from the beginning or…

It's a fun mystery that maybe stretches a bit too long. The writing is pretty good and that's really all you can ask of a walking simulator. Maybe less scenes with extremely minor changes? Also depending on the kind of person you are, you may love or you may hate the way consequences work in this game. They're sometimes not clear at all which I personally like because it shows even the slightest change that seems unrelated may lead to a different outcome. However, you might hate not knowing…

I tried, I really tried to give this game a shot, but it is such a painful slog. The game is unabashedly ugly and it needs to be said directly. Taking place in the remnants of a residential building with no real lighting besides the street lights from outside and the player's flashlight, the story is told from these holo-projections of these smooth-textured peoples performing stiff arm-waving and something one could theoretically describe as lip-syncing. And like, I get it, it's the dev…

This is a kind of game that I would give a neutral review. The idea is definitely interesting, and the beginning is intriguing. However, after a while it became really tedious for me. You are walking around the same house, and watching the short snippets of events unfold in a dark semi-transparent hologram. The voice acting is great, and the characters are well-written, it's just the tedium stopped me from continuing.

This was an unconventional experience for me. I enjoyed it though, it reminded me of the games of Quantic Dream, but more chilled out and without the action part. It's your decisions again that shape the story, but the way this happens is different. It does not rely on quick-time events like QD's games (and tbh I'm not mad about them), but instead lets you think and choose however you wish with no time limit. You can, and at some point - you will revisit most, if not all, of your decisions to…

Its a narrative focused game with very little gameplay outside of watching characters interact and then organising their interactions into a coherent timeline with the goal of making sure all 6 characters escape a house fire. I thought it was a well done time travel plot and the characters are all interesting to observe so I wasn't bothered by having to sort through all their dramas.

I really liked Telling Lies, and Her, which are similar in that you just sort of suss out what happens with ordinary people. I really wanted to write a positive review as the game was amazing, i loved the concept, the story, everything about the game but i have never ever played a game before that has crashed so much, The game seemed to crash at least once every half an hour minimum although sometimes this was even 2-3 times within half an hour, If the dev's would actually fix the crashing issues then yes i could recommend this game.

Good. For the most part. I feel like it's worth mentioning that there is basically no gameplay here at all. It's more like an interactive film. In fact, your first 3-4 hours essentially just involve walking around the house and playing through the story to its conclusion. From there, you are free to replay events and change what happens for the six main characters. This was... okay. The way you do this is through the time map, and this may genuinely be one of the worst user interfaces I…

Unskippable wall of text to start, followed by an unskippable seizure-inducing cutscene, followed by yet another slow animation to start. Then you go to move your character and realise you can't remap the controls. There might be a good game in here somewhere but I don't think the devs want you to find it.

This game is honestly peak British culture. Less a detective/puzzle game, more a choose-your-own-adventure soap opera. Didn't make a great impression at first - some slightly clunky controls, bit of a confusing intro, gloomy setting, didn't think I'd like the characters. But absolutely does what it says on the tin. Really satisfying to explore. Surprisingly grounded and relatable narrative with some great writing and acting that had me variously laughing out loud (shoutout to Jag…

This game is incredible I have found this gem within my library at random and just the description of it had me hooked. To the point I managed to finish most of the game. Unfortunately, there are some flaws which prevented me from 100% it. The content I missed out on felt tedious and unimportant. Positives An interesting idea which is well performed with plenty of choices to explore Interesting and flawed characters (Which make concerningly bad choices on their own) Simple and easy to…
