Pros: Challenging Decent graphics Interesting world/lore Cons: Some oddly placed checkpoints Bugs Meh crafting system Can skip some cutscenes but not others. CAUTION: This is a difficult game. Please understand that this has a Dark Souls Lite style gameplay and it is frustrating and difficult by design. You're playing on hard mode. While there are a few kinks that need to be worked out, this game is absolutely gorgeous and a lot of fun for the more hardcore gamers. It pays tribute to the old fixed camera style which is good and bad. You'll find the switching between …

It could have been a good game, but : - The fixed camera was a stupid idea. - The difficulty is ridiculous : a smal gobelin can kill you in 3 blows and the (rare) heal herbs recover only 1/3 of your health bar. - You can't save as you wish and ennemies respawn each time you come back in a zone. - You can't fast travel on the map. - Achievements are broken. - Bugs, bugs, bugs...

What could have been a decent Dark Souls style limited-resource survival action RPG instead turns out to be one clunky, quiet, and uninteresting game. I'm not the best when it comes to games of this type but I tried, I really did. It wasn't even an hour before I gave up in the second area not so much from the difficulty but the lack of strive to push forward. Nothing about this game makes me *want* to play it more. …

neutral · AI labelView post →Not even mid, bad. But at the beginning of the game the villain shows up to threaten you and you can run off and get townspeople to aggro on him and beat him to death and the game ends and that’s the best shit ever. Sorry Tyrannar Scourge of Eternity but you got beat to death by Jeff at the store

Eternity: The Last Unicorn is an artificially difficult action RPG with glitchy combat that excludes many potential players. The lore is based on Norse mythology and is fun to read through; the individual stage designs are pretty nice with decent graphical elements; the bosses look neat until you go to fight them; and the glitchy combat +…

On paper it's my childhood dream come true - deep space, commanding ships, discovering planets, seeing alien life forms, basically everything I dreamt about as a kid reading Clarke and Asimov... I'm not a kid anymore, but the itch is still there to some degree. Nowadays I do enjoy slower paced RPGs, interesting story and distinctive art and music style. Thinking games…
neutral · AI labelView post →If I had purchased this game 20 years ago I probably would have been happy with this game, sadly that is not the case. I thought an action/adventure with elves and an, albeit the last, unicorn it would suit my interest fine, but I found it difficult to develop any interest in the game at all. The controls were awful, often not registering clicks. The camera felt very limited and stiff, as did the dialogue too, everything felt stiff about this game. The .8hrs it shows I attempted to play…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I guess while I'm posting controversial video game takes: Baldur's Gate III is a landmark achievement in CRPGs and absolutely phenomenal as a game, but it's much more of a Divinity: Original Sin game than a Baldur's Gate game. Pillars of Eternity feels more suitable as a third Baldur's Gate game.
positive · AI labelView post →And the next game taste-tested... Eternity Egg. Not on sale - it just launched into early access, and it's more at the 'esoteric artifact full of potential' stage of development. That said, it may be the most colorful videogame ever made, and the movement is shockingly technical but alien feeling.

neutral · AI labelView post →Not so polished as other recent titles but definetively intriguing. Fixed camera does give exploring a different taste. Combat is satisfying and fun in spite of sometimes feeling / looking clunky. What I like the most so far is the 1990-2000 adventure game atmosphere, where you, like, have to craft something out of something to get somewhere. There are hints of secrets to be found, dark-souls-like doors that "won't open from this side" (how come???) and stuff. So far, so good. Update: loved…

I quite enjoy this game and even went to the lengths of getting all the achievements because I saw only a very small fraction of people got past the tutorial. Genuinely, I would neither absolutely recommend nor completely disregard this title. It feels to me like a very YMMV sort of game that incorrectly markets itself as a nostalgic classic RPG while using the fairly modern game design principles of the souls-like…

Its basically a hack and slash where you spam the same button over and over again, while "dodging" or leaping back when you think the enemy is going to attack. Its very repetitive - Dark Souls type game mechanics. Some may enjoy it, but it was a huge turn-off to me. High "difficulty" in the sense that you…

They tell two stories from the perspective of the two protagonists in the game both with different abilities and styles. There are some RPG / Crafting elements and a lot of lore. SO MUCH LORE. It has a lot of odd quirks and game mechanics and it's not much fun. It's one of the few games I have played where you can die with health left. Like a quarter of your health, but bam, your dead anyways. The same enemies will respawn in the same exact place when you return to an area. The cameras are in a fixed position so if your fighting behind or in front of a camera it…

The problem is the camera which follows the character's movement but can't be controlled beyond that.
