What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 269 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Mixed (1,491 of 2,162 positive).
Many players enjoy the single-player mode, comparing it to Warcraft 3 custom maps. [1][2][3] Multiplayer is widely criticized for poor netcode and progression issues. [4][5][6] Some reviewers find the game repetitive and lacking depth after initial hours. [7][8][9]

The game as a whole is an interesting concept with a lot of room to grow, and some great mechanics. The issues surrounding the game at release however mean you should avoid this product at this time. While the gameplay has some clunkiness on the whole the game is interesting. Where it fails however is in the multiplayer. Touted as an experience for up to 3 players the game is in an abysmal state regarding …

TLDR: Great idea and fun gameplay loop for the first 10 hours, especially if you like MOBA/RTS/tower defense mixes. After that, it becomes repetitive due to shallow systems, lack of build variety, and almost no map or content diversity. Enjoyable, but lacks depth and variety I would like to leave a mixed review. I really like this game, so why a thumbs down? Technical issues and performance First, I want to address …

I was really surprised by the negative reviews. It runs fine on my PC and it is by no means top notch. I don't play multiplayer so maybe that's it. But as a single player MOBA, I've been looking forward to this for months and I am in no way disappointed.

Finally get to play DOTA without having to deal with DOTA players. Feels very much like Warcraft 3 & StarCraft 2 custom maps, but with a lot more "just one more game" feeling. The maps and runs vary enough that it isn't just following a preset build every game (or trying something new and having your teammates yell at you). It does have the classic MOBA experience of dozens of small mechanics poorly explained that …

We are so back. A single player lane pushing game ("MOBA") roguelite which is fun as hell. Turns out you CAN release a game in this genre that isn't a live service with an artificial esports scene as a marketing strategy, which gets closed down after a year or to and isn't available to play ever again. Only 6 heroes, yes, but multitudes of mechanics on top of other mechanics with well thought-out synergies. No toxic …

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Second Edit: Understand that I still praise this game for what it is worth. My only gripes is that, even on such a high end device, I should not be getting performance drops on a game that looks like this. This is high up in my list of favorite games because of my Warcraft 3 days. I recommend it if you really like this kind of game and style. However, BECAUSE of these performance issues and questionable development decisions that we brought up numerous times during the testing phases, I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Look. I understand the official Steam policy is that 2 hours is the maximum playtime for a game to be refundable. But I humbly requested that they allow me to refund this. I was ASTOUNDED to find out so many multiplayer issues that make the game just... unbearable. First of all, there is no matchmaking. So at first I think, no biggie, I'll just try to play solo since that's a marketing bullet-point. One map length is about 1 hour long. And I'm marginally okay with the game, it's pretty good,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game has a good skeleton to build on, as we saw in the Demo. However... Meta Progression does not save between all members of a co op run, only the host. When I inquired about this I was told that the meta progression of the host can be 'copied over after the session ends'. Yet there is no way to do so. There is no built in functionality to manually save files so you would have to go edit the files yourself in the steam library, or copy the 'hosts' files from your group session to…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is a game I want to recommend but I don't think I can. First, it's a game that requires a lot of dedication of time. 30-60min for a run with no ability to save mid game. It's like this because the target audience is MOBA gamers used to LoL or DoTA and is very much tailored toward the co-op side of things. Except that it doesn't have the depth and complexity in gameplay or interesting characters those games have, and so leaves a lot to be desired game to game. Couple this with the…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is pretty much like eating unseasoned cold noodles. The issues with this game is that the matches are both too long (60-80 minutes) and not long enough. How? Well, for most of the match you are hitting like a wet noodle and falling over like a wet paper towel. Once you've got a build going, the match is all but over. What's more is the once you've played one "Age", you've pretty much played them all. The replayability just isn't there when the core gameplay is agonizingly dull for…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →33 hours played – Solo Player Review After 33 hours of playing EverSiege: Untold Ages, I can say that the game has a very interesting concept and a lot of potential. The combination of hero combat, tower defense, RTS mechanics, roguelite progression, and city management feels unique and refreshing. The first several hours were genuinely fun, and discovering new builds was one of the reasons I kept playing. However, the experience becomes increasingly frustrating for solo players as you…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I expected more. I loved the idea, so I got it right away after watching some videos of it. The gameplay is really the same again and again. The higher your difficulty goes, the less build variety exists. This feels like an Early Access title because depth is missing. You'll find yourself soon enough using your same working build over and over again because everything else won't work after a certain point (mainly: rush the enemy boss). I also didn't expect to only have one map layout. The…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Eversiege is a PvE pseudo-MOBA game for people who burnt out on DotA and League, or people who were too intimidated to ever jump into those games in the first place. If you have queue anxiety, and you prefer to play bots or custom games nowadays, then this might be the game for you. If you have fond memories of playing Warcraft 3 custom maps back in the day, this might be the game for you. If you just want a hack and slash game with good movement and interesting build options, this might be the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Just... frustrating. I can grind for 20-30 minutes going from camp to camp, keeping the line in check, trying to be as efficient as possible... But all throughout the match, my character just feels overwhelmingly weak. Weak attack damage, weak skills, frail health bar... And I'm just at part 3 out of what... 20? And I can tell it's only gonna get even more difficult from there. And what's even more disheartening is that the balancing is weighted *against* coop, where the health and damage…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm not a MOBA player (even if it's more of a blend of MOBA/hack’n’slash/tower def/roguelite/RTS) and I don’t totally get everything I’m doing, but it’s super fun. I click on stuff, I kill stuff, I loot money after killing those things, I build towers, upgrade my village, kill more stuff, survive hordes of things, fight a boss, die, respawn, get stronger, kill even more stuff, protect my village, collect more and more stuff, wow damn I get way stronger, I feel good so I go back to kill the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →No save in singleplayer in 2026? At least the gameplay and loop is somewhat fun, even though the enemy are a little bit on the spongy side. Games last between 30 to 90 minutes. If you can play for that long, or don'T mind leaving the game on pause, great game to buy. If you want to play muliplayer, wait a few weeks, too many issues with desynch and no shared progression. Edit: After playing for a little while and going up in ages, what an absolute joke is that DoT damage against the player.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I want to like it. Concept is great: - Economy, RTS, Tower Defense - MOBA, Heroes, PvE w PVP Unfortunately, it is very poorly optimized, the combat does not feel very good. Clunky to say the least. This feels like an early access title, and many EA's are a lot more polished than this.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A very fun game that does not deserve the "mixed" review, although I admittedly haven't even tried the multiplayer mode which seems to be the main cause of negative reviews. From a single player perspective there are a few things that I had to learn and understand about the game to fully appreciate it, so I thought it might make sense to share those with you: - General Idea - This game is not about picking a single champion (called Wargear) and trying to master it like you would do in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Starts feeling like an amazing WC3 custom map. About halfway through the progression system, it becomes a slog where a single misclick will cost you a 60minute run because everything either one-shots you, or burns you down in 0.000002 seconds. The added challenges in most roguelites are interesting; most of these are just obnoxious. I desperately want to like this little slice of attempted nostalgia, but between that and the multiplayer being a literal waste of time (consistently…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a fun concept and I do sorta like it, but my god does it need work. Runs like absolute ♥♥♥♥, to the point of single digit frames and prone to crashes. Combined with fairly long runs and NO SAVING makes for at times a miserable experience. There's also a ton of bugs. Most aren't game breaking, but a lot of attacks not registering or simply character not attacking at all. So assuming the devs are able to fix it, which isn't given, this might be decent game in year or so. Don't feel I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I do like what I've played to far i can't recommend the game due to a few problems: 1. No in-run saving, If the game crashes or you need to leave during the run you just lose all progress. suck to lose a run I've spent near an hour in just for the game to crash at the last boss and have my time being completely wasted. 2. only the host gets progression when completing runs. 3. Dev responses to these complaints I've read has been "Feel free to jump out whenever you need. There’s no penalty…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a Warcraft 3 custom game, and that's a compliment. This is basically the closest thing we're ever getting to X Hero Defense, and that's fine. Is it underbaked? Yes. Could there be more wargears to choose from? Absolutely. Does the co-op suck and makes 0 sense? YOU BETCHA. But it's exactly what people who grew up on Enfos have wanted for years and I'm willing to give the team some time to iron out the wrinkles.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Inelegant game design and the practise of big number go up. The best example of why I would not recommend the game is the Vampire dogs. On day 6 the vampire Lestat sends dogs which apply a stacking bleed per attack. In a horde game. Each bleed does damage per game-tick PER UNIT AFFECTED If you do not beat the level quick enough your game will slow to an agonizing crawl as hundreds of units are affected by dozens of bleeds each stacking up to thousands of operations the game has to do per…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Neat Hero Siege-like game. Good for a few hours until you figure out the meta. Feedback for the devs: - Make burn damage less effective against bosses. 1% of max hp is insane, you can solo the boss at level 1 with burn. - Give the tank hero more tankiness. He can't effectively take damage for friendlies. - Add more options for dual-attunement builds. Right now it's best to just max one attunement and pick skills that match it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is great, unfortunately multiplayer which is my desired method of playing this game does not function without major lag. Both myself and other player have far overspecced computers and have zero issues playing together in any other game even with one of us being overseas. Can't wait to take this review down once they fix it because the gameplay is very fun.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has a good concept, but if you were planning to play with friends. I highly do not recommend you to play this game in its current state. The multiplayer is so hopeless poorly optimized, I'm playing with players in the same house, and we're on a constant 200ms connection to one another. One day when the multiplayer connection is fixed, I can recommend it again. But at this point, look elsewhere.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really like the game. but we got it mainly for multiplayer... which is unplayable. so yeah. has to be negative until fixed. very sad
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a solo player, I’m having a lot of fun with the game. It really brings me back to those Warcraft 3 custom maps. There’s a meaningful progression system and a lot of things to unlock. If you ever played WC3 against bots and enjoyed playing custom maps, just buy it. As for multiplayer, I cannot speak to that but the other reviews seem to cover it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →With so much content I can see myself playing this game for 100+ hrs easy. Also, this being a mash-up of genres that I haven't seen before, it's unlike anything else. It has a learning curve so you have to bear with it in the beginning but the systems go deep and so far each run I did felt different. I really do recommend and at a 19.99USD price tag, it's a steal!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can only complete 1 out of every 3 runs due to constant desync and disconnection issues. This will drive you mad if you intend to play co-op. Game could be great, but it's just not playable right now. I'm not even sure the connection is truly peer to peer as the group I play with has spent thousands of hours over many multiplayer games with no problems.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →So, I would love to be able to say I like the game, but I would only ever play this game multiplayer and it is simply UNPLAYABLE in multiplayer. I watched my friend play the demo and then some gameplay when he got the full version and I said wow ok I enjoy how it looks and the gameplay, so I purchased the game played it for myself a little and we did multiplayer. The Multiplayer Experience - Don't expect to be able to progress alongside your teammate! Experience, Shrines, and most…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Oh boy. I can understand the mixed reviews. While the game is fun for the first 10 hours, it gets repetitive and becomes a chore after 11 hours of playtime. The main issue here is the difficulty spike. Since it’s a roguelike, you can’t level up your Champion as you wish. Just imagine this: You play Dota 2, and the game decides how you level your main carry. Maybe you get a good damage ability. Or you get a mediocre support ability that scales with an attribute you can’t level because you have…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I would love to keep playing this game however me and my 2 friends can't actually play the damn thing because we'll have a desync issue within a MINUTE of actually starting a run. This review will stay negative until we can actually finish a run, otherwise this game is pretty fun when it does work. Edit: They pushed an update that lets you wait to resync but now we just get back to back desyncs within seconds of resyncing.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A diamond in the rough. Great co-op fun when it works and you can look past some odd design choices in multiplayer progression. So EverSiege: UnTold Ages is kind of a weird mashup of genres, and honestly? It works better than it has any right to. If you ever spent way too many hours in those custom Starcraft or Warcraft III lobbies playing tug-of-war maps, you'll immediately get what this game is going for. There's that MOBA-ish push-and-pull where your faction's army clashes against the…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cannot recommend. Gameplay loop is fun, albeit needs some polish. On the other hand. The network code is a joke. And the game commits a serious sin of not understanding difference between "difficulty" and "inconvenience". On higher difficulty levels (for me around 9 lvl out of 25(!!!)) it is borderline unplayable. The way I see it: During the day I should be roaming the map procuring resources and getting power ups. So that during the night I can repel massive enemy forces marching down the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game seems unfinished, for a roguelike its very linear and some of the characters and spells feel half-baked. Playing solo feels like a time consuming grind that is not very refreshing or unique to the run. Game overall is missing a chunk of different ways to play like 2-3 characters and each element type is missing 2-3 spells. Heard cool things about multiplayer but not really a lobby systems for randoms. Maybe keep an eye on this game in like a year
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Most of the complaints about the game seem to be about the co-op, which will hopefully get fixed later in development. For solo play though, I'm really enjoying it. The only downside for solo play is that you can't save mid-game, so you have to make sure you have enough time for a session. That said, since the game can be paused for short breaks, it's still manageable.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →**1. Verdict ** 👎 It's not ready yet. **2. Playtime & Context** Played all in Solo mode as I don't know anyone else that has this game. **3. Pros** - The game mechanics are pretty solid. Where you have tasks you need to do as day and night transition. Quests keep it interesting, killing the mobs are fun and you get your shard rewards or gold rewards. - Your character levels up over time by killing the npcs, you gain abilities through your rewards that you begin to feel (a little bit). When…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dont let the negative reviews distract from the core gameplay mechanics. The save feature is wonky for sure, it goes off the host's save file so its better to play in one person's save file kinda like a non-dedicated server. But overall, me and 2 other friends are having a blast. UPDATE!: MULTIPLAYER SAVES GOT UPDATED!! <3 TY DEVS! Pro's: -Great gameplay loop -Challenging especially depending on RNG rolls for upgrades, just gotta learn/feel when your character is strong enough to take on the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game Itself is extremely fun. The situation with non-shared progression is annoying, but certainly does not make the game unplayable. But Connectivity in Coop is really bad. It states I have a ping of around 40ms, but input delay is more like 500ms. Even in Singleplayer the input delay is pretty unexcusable, but in Coop its often enough borderline unplayable. But almost worse is the fact that in Coop, the ground AoE markers for your abilities and attacks dont show up, at least like 80% of…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game is good, the multiplayer hardly works though there is a delay and the load times are unbearable. gameplay is super solid though hopefully the devs fix the multiplayer.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I could not get this game to work in co-op multiplayer, which is the reason why I bought this game. Every time I'd make it to the end of the tutorial, the game crashes to desktop with some Unreal Engine error code. I tried verifying the files' integrity. I tried enabling admin privileges. I tried lowering the graphics settings to much lower than my PC can handle. It always crashes for me. I also played this game several months ago, it had severe net code issues which caused the game to lag…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Undercooked. The game has horrible optimization. Even with my RTX 4090 I get random stuttering on even the lowest graphics. There's also the fact that progression doesn't work for anyone but the main host. Anyone who wants to progress will need to copy the host's save file. Speaking of saves, you can't. Not in the middle of a run. You have to do it all in a single sitting, and these can be fairly lengthy sits of 15~30+ min. I have also ran into a horrible bug where the game stops allowing me…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall decent idea. However, **ALLOW PLAYERS TO MAKE THEIR OWN FIRST CHOICE FOR CHARACTER** . A good idea turns into a slog I don't care about when I have to play through characters I don't give a damn about because I already know I hate their playstyle. Shape of Dreams did this too, liked the gameplay, but I don't want to waste my time playing characters I don't want to play. The multiplayer needs W-O-R-K. It gets points because it works well, though there is some pausing that happens when…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game markets itself as a multiplayer pve moba. it is a pve moba but the multiplayer is serverarlly lacking! with how long the same is a having a desync mid game is a heavy quit moment for the most loyal of players and thats without mentioning the lagging and freezing you will come across with playing multiplayer. If the game were in early access i could see these problems as less maddening. Having no matchmaking doesnt help the game either. a silver lining is that the dev team seems to be…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →no progress for mutiplayer for a game that is supposed to be mutiplayer, the copy save hack is a really really really bad work around as you have to run with their choises and dont get to make your own. the devs say they are working on it but no progress in a game based on progress, is a big miss for being day one
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I came into EverSiege: Untold Ages expecting to hold the line. Turns out, holding the line is for people who lack imagination. This game hooked me fast. One minute I’m carefully balancing my economy like a responsible ruler, the next I’ve accidentally created a war crime combo involving acid rain, flaming arrows, and an army of very enthusiastic warhounds. The build variety is ridiculous in the best way—every run feels like I’m either a tactical genius or a mad scientist who got lucky. The…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cool concept, but devs can't balance for different strategies. In later ages you pretty much have to min max the 1 same strat with same wargear. Lot's of gameplay bugs existing since launch, but devs focus on multiplayer and save mode. Great addition to the game, but shouldn't've been main focus.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The gameplay itself scratches an itch that I didn't realize I was missing. If you've ever enjoyed jungling in a MOBA, or MOBAs in general, but you're tired of the toxic communities, endless sweating, and teammates flaming each other, this game is a fantastic alternative. It captures that satisfying feeling of clearing camps, growing stronger, and working together without all the stress that usually comes with the genre. For me personally, this has become my "I want a MOBA, but I don't want the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →All in all a fun game. Maybe a bit to grindy and slow progression. Its going need some balancing and QOF. One in mind is an auto save during a run...seriously...there is no way to save, quit, pause over night etc. Youll have to start a run all over again. (these runs take 1.5-2 hours). Other then that the core game concept is pretty good. Its fun, drives me start a new run as soon as im done with one. But, i am a grown man with a life and I dont want to have to keep replaying the same run…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is fun, still has some bugs here and there, but nothing making the game unplayable. (and will most likely be fixed very soon) It has improved a lot from the previous tests, game is more fluid, tutorial is way better than it used to be, onboarding is still a bit rough, but game is expansive so, there's not much you can do about it, you'll most likely get used to it after a few games. Game still isn't as optimised as it should be, it's not ground breaking on the visual side and still…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The gameplay and mechanic are okay, but the difficulty increases way too quickly. Unlocking things is very resource-intensive, and a single playthrough takes a long time. Not recommended for those with limited time to play.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Eversiege scratches an itch I didn't know I had, which is doing PvE in a MOBA while also playing the economy side of an RTS. I ended up absolutely loving this game, and felt I should write a review because, after reading a lot of other reviews, I felt the game is getting a bad rap for kind of the wrong reasons. The game is indeed pretty difficult at first like a lot of the complaints say, but once it clicks and you understand the systems and builds and economy, it quickly settles down and you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I can honestly say this is one of the best games I've played recently! Yes, it can get harder as the game progresses, but I think the challenge adds to the fun later as the game progresses. They seem to have made significant improvements to the desync issue, and I have been able to play with friends without any dropouts or desyncs since. I would highly recommend you give this game a try, and I hope they keep developing the game with new maps and mechanics as time goes on! 9.5/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I quite like this game, very fun concept. For me where it could be improved is variety and maybe more "late game" content, like further upgrades, prestige system for scyons stuff like that
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is really weird the first few hours... So much going in every direction ! ( talk about thing to upgrade etc) But that's where the game become good at, if you hold on a little until you understand what's going on! But honestly I felt like I was playing an early access game.. The game needs some fixing ! In the current stage due to certain bugs I wouldn't recommend paying 30$ (AUD) Cons: -I have to press twice my keyboard ( very often ) to activate a skill -The moving around could be…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Good game. Reminds me a lot of Warcraft 3 custom maps / DotA mixed with some newer moba stuff. Devs seem really responsive to issues such as the progression difference on Co-Op being fixed in a week of being out. Good game good dev.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →As a Heroes of the Storm player with thousands of hours, I've always wanted a HOTS2 with PvE (coop?) campaigns where you have to balance pushing up a lane and going out away from the lane to clear merc camps & do dungeons with the ability to hire a group of minions or mercs to escort you so tank/dps for when ur the dps/tank, with some sort of timing mechanic that forces the player to go back to the lane to hit their timings. And that's EXACTLY what this game is. On that alone I suggest you at…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Honestly, I don't see why people are complaining about this game. I haven't played multiplayer, so I can't comment on that. The single player experience is absolutely fine. You just need to focus on synergy. Try and get as many skills as possible to rely on the same essence (coloured crystals) and focus on getting as many of them as possible. If you're struggling, remove the Distortions.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a really fun idea for a game but the execution isn't great. I've had my gold miners stuck in a loop trying to go around a tree several times. I looked up the bug on Google and it's been a known issue for almost half a year. Pretty inexcusable. Also if I ever want to play two matches back to back the second game will crash 90% of the time. Needs a lot of work
