[4][5][6][7] Some recommend using the Tale of Two Wastelands mod to improve stability and gameplay. [8][9][10][11]

The fact that you need sketchy mods, or a computer from the early 2000s in order to even launch the game without crashing is ridiculous. What's even crazier is that you can still pay money for it even though it's functionally broken.

Why is this game still available for purchase when it's literally unplayable from Windows 10 and up? I got it to work after modding it, only to realise the quests, radio and entire game in general was broken from the inside. Thank GOD for the Tale of Two Wastelands mod and its creators, it literally imports Fallout 3 onto the Fallout New Vegas engine, which still works, making this game playable again. So, for …

Fallout 3 made the Wasteland feel huge and lonely in a way few games ever matched. Stepping out of Vault 101 and seeing the ruins of D.C. was unforgettable. The atmosphere — the radio, the ruins, the silence — carried the whole experience. It gave you freedom instead of guidance, and that’s something most modern RPGs have lost.

Spent over 100 hours wandering the Capital Wasteland looking for my dad and somehow ended up adopting a robot butler instead, priorities in order. The VATS system lets you slow-mo headshot a mole rat like youre the main character of your own action movie and honestly, chefs kiss. Yes the game is older than some of you reading this, yes the faces still look like theyre melting a little, but the atmosphere carries it …

one of the buggiest ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ games ever released you will spend HOURS preparing this game to be played on modern systems you will spend HOURS downloading performance mods to fix all the lag and jank AND you will spend hours enabling, disabling and reinstalling those same mods to diagnose which one is causing all the crashes, and you still wont be able to play for more than 45 minutes without it crashing to desktop

The company also confirmed my scoop last week that it is working with Obsidian on a Fallout game. I spoke to Todd Howard about the roadmap: www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

I remember that game kinda feeling like an afterthought compared to Fallout 3 being everywhere, and yet now I feel like I never hear people talk about 3. It's either praising New Vegas or hating 4
neutral · AI labelView post →If you want an actual excuse to play Fallout 3 then please play it through Tales of Two Wastelands for all the benefits of playing this game with all of the quality of life features of New Vegas. Aim down sights, survival, crafting, perks. It's also fucking free
positive · AI labelView post →What's your ranking of Bethesda Game Studios' games? Here's mine for today; I haven't played Oblivion: 1. Fallout 3 2. Fallout: New Vegas 3. Starfield 4. Morrowind 5. Skyrim 6. Fallout 76 7. Fallout 4

The current vibe is thinking about Fallout 3! ngl Fallout 3 is an amazing game 🥹 it was the first Bethesda RPG I had ever played, and the world they created was so crazy to me, it was an awesome experience! I hope you have a wonderful day, I send love and positivity your way 💛☺️
positive · AI labelView post →I finally did it. I got every game I’ve shipped as a tattoo. Bloodrayne 2, Aeon Flux, Metroid Prime 3, Fallout 3, Skyrim, Fallout 4, Fallout 76, Starfield and The Axis Unseen. 🤘
neutral · AI labelView post →I think video game centrists have a morality system like in Fallout 3 where you can offset doing bad things by giving a homeless man a bottle of water every now and then
neutral · AI labelView post →I cannot even play it anymore, it won't get past the launch screen even with a clean install
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Day 793 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I've been playing. Today‘s game is Fallout 3. I really probably shouldn’t have started another game while I was finishing the DLC of Assassin’s Creed 3 and Pokemon Platinum. But I also really wanted to play Fallout 3 recently for some reason. I may not finish it, but that’s fine. I got my fix at least. I did a fully unarmed build this time. I usually go for guns but this time I wanted to use my fists to punch stuff. It’s lead to some pretty…

neutral · AI labelView post →Day 802 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I've been playing. Today’s game is Fallout 3. I didn’t realize how short the main story was for this. For context I just met up with the Brotherhood of Steel before ending off and I’m on my way to get the G.E.C.K. I can’t check exact hours right now but I’d say I’m maybe 15 hours in? Maybe 10. It’s not a strike against it, I like shorter stories, but it’s just something I’ve noticed.…
neutral · AI labelView post →Bethesda just did a bunch of announcements. This includes official announcements for an Obsidian Fallout game, Fallout 3 and New Vegas remasters, confirmation they will still make Fallout 5, Fallout 76 will receive a Raven Rock expansion, and Starfield will receive a Starborn expansion.
neutral · AI labelView post →While Fallout 3's story and quests generally fall flat for my personal tastes, I think the exploration in that game is some of the most smartly designed exploration of its era. Points of interest are well paced, you can almost always see something interesting, and the landscape hides the ugly LODs.
neutral · AI labelView post →One of my favorite games of all time. Wish Bethesda would re-release it so it's easier to play on modern PCs without mods.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →We announce the first game from our new studio @softrains.bsky.social at the PC Gaming Show on Sunday. From a team made up of developers behind Skyrim, Fallout 3 & 4, Left 4 Dead/2, Half-Life 2 Episodes/Alyx, Watch_Dogs: Legion, and so many more AAA favorites. Two days out! Don't miss it, June 8.
neutral · AI labelView post →All the hours I have in this game is me constantly trying at different points in my life to get the game to run. It has never once worked for me. I've tried mods, community guides, YouTube videos, online tutorials and nothing... It shouldn't be this hard to get a game I paid for to work. I hate you Bethesda.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game crashes on launch without the addition of community made mods. Dont think a game should be able to be sold on steam in this state considering the base product is broken and requires mods to make it work. And im not even talking about the usual mods to fix glitches that you need to install for other fallout titles, I mean the game crashes on launch and wont even get to the title screen without mods. Classic bethesda, release a pile of broken garbage and let the community mod it into a…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fallout 3 on the PS3 is broken in ways that require an entirely unique approach, both during and outside of gameplay. A fascinating mess.
negative · AI labelView post →Day 799 of posting a Daily Screenshot from the games I've been playing. Today’s game is Fallout 3. My network has been out all evening. So i chose to take this as an opportunity to play some Fallout 3. First thing I did was I made my way back to the metro I got my ass kicked in last time before crashing. I got my ass kicked again though so I went back and did some questing to get better gear. Then I came back and cleared the floor.…
neutral · AI labelView post →One of the best games ever that could still really use a remaster. Hint hint.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Love the game but cannot get it to run at all. I shouldn't have to downgrade updates just to be even playable at all. Steam should force Bethesda to fix or delist an unplayable game.

neutral · AI labelView post →Amazing game, just don’t buy it on steam. Bought this game and it would crash as soon as I clicked play. If this happens to you, which it most likely would, do not bother trying to fix it and send a refund request immediately. 11/10 game but please buy from gog instead

I finished gathering up the Radar dish today and climbed the Washington Monument to hang it up there. Honestly, seeing something like that, that I recognize from real life is just a “wow” moment. Like. You see it and approach it and there’s just this factor of “I recognize that!” Regardless of current state of things, it was cool to see in game and get to climb.…

positive · AI labelView post →"from one of the developers of Skyrim, Fallout 3, 4, 76 and that game from the movie Grandma's Boy" is a fucking insane opener to a trailer selling a medieval-fantasy horror game lmao (game is The Axis Unseen, haven't played it so this is all I know)

positive · AI labelView post →Sign that I'm old: it sounds weird to me when people say "The Fallout games" and they mean 3/New Vegas/4 and not 1 and 2. Fallout 3 still feels like a "new game" to me.

positive · AI labelView post →& happy birthday to my favorite game of all time.. Fallout 3 🖤 This game got me through a lot of tough years, man.
positive · AI labelView post →I cannot recommend a game that doesn't run on many modern systems. The fact Bethesda and Steam continue selling broken games instead of patching them is unacceptable, no matter how much I might love the game if I managed to make it work.
