What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 300 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Overwhelmingly Positive (36,920 of 38,697 positive).
Players praise the game as a polished blend of Helldivers 2, Deep Rock Galactic, and other co-op shooters. [1][2][3] Some reviewers note the gameplay loop becomes repetitive and lacks build variety. [4][5][6] A few players joke about the absence of a fishing feature in early access. [7][8][9]

While I enjoy the gunplay (lever-action, my beloved) and the movement is some of the most fun I've had with a shooter since Warframe, everything around it feels disconnected, strange, and more often than not... annoying. It's like somebody wished for a new co-op horde shooter on a monkey's paw, because everything that's cool about the game is dragged down by little annoyances that I don't really expect to change due …

The game is good and has a lot of potential, but mind you that the "extremely positive" reviews don't fool you; the game has a lot of problems —yes i know is an early acces—, but people act like the game cannot be criticized or is perfect and is not: If you play on very hard mode and nightmare you'll notice more and more that there's a predominant build based on movement speed, has decent amount of weapons for a new …

this game has the groundwork to be, in my honest opinion, the next Big Thing™ in the PvE co-op shooter/slasher department. right off the bat, it's very well optimized, with very crisp visuals, great animations (I can't tell if they're mocapped, but if they are, it's done very well) and a solid artstyle. it's most reminiscent of DRG's pseudo voxel based aesthetic, both in direct visual comparison and feel. gameplay …

I like the game. But the loop gets repetitive. No innovative builds from the jokers. Nothing interesting to make me want to keep playing at this point. More quests would spice up the game.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I saw a wishing well, toss a coin in it, and got myself nuked this game is incredible
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Imagine Helldivers 2 but the community isn't in a uphill battle against the antagonistic devs who wants to make the game as unfun as possible :D

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The devs are lying to you. There is nothing about this game that feels early access, everything is polished, haven't had a single crash or seen any bugs in my 75 hrs of gameplay This game is just the right blend of everything it's taken gameplay design from, has become my new favourite. Easy to drop in and out of, great solo, great with friends, can't reccommend enough
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Early Access and still no fishing? Literally unplayable.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →helldivers but it has cowboys and horse robots, and skeletons with the added bonus of the devs that don't hate its community.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ok lets do this one last time, I have been a part of this games dev by playtesting for about a Year. And i could not give any higher recommendation than to play this game. So have fun and Enjoy EA :) [Edit: I have reached 200 hours on this which means i have 500 hours total on both the playtest and demo version of the game. I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love it]
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you're a big fan of a Left 4 Dead horde shooter style of game with progression elements reminiscent of Payday 2, this game is a must buy. While team work isn't required it's recommended, at least for now. What are you getting out of this game? Wizard Robot Cowboys who are bounty hunters to take on occult beings to line their pockets with cash. It's pretty fun.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game has only one big minus — you cant blow up yourself with a dynamite in hand like a real berserk, charging into group of enemies or teammates... im serious, can't wait to see this feature in the game, please devs
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Played it a bit and it’s been a really solid experience so far. The gameplay loop feels good and there’s already a nice sense of progression even when playing solo. Definitely worth a try if you like fast-paced shooters. Would love to see a ‘yeehaw’ button added at some point lol.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Let me preface by saying this, as a Deep Rock Galactic fanatic (1600+ hours), I REALLY like this game! I've put in 10+ hours 2 days in a row now. Hero Level 60 at the time of this review. This game has a lot going for it already, and I'm certain it will only improve over time. I'll list my 3 biggest complaints, or at least things I personally find a bit bothersome so far. (None of which are game breaking) (Excluding Deadeye enemy potency on account that they have already acknowledged this in…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Best horde shooter of the century, can't wait for the combos. Love the lack of paid equipment sets that force gamers to purchase ♥♥♥♥ with real money (♥♥♥♥ you arrowhead)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Have you asked these questions to yourself? - What if modern horde shooters were fun? - Has there ever been a game with robot cowboy wizards? - What if Helldivers 2, Payday 2, and Deep Rock Galactic had a wonderful selective breeding love child? If you have: you're weird, but your insanity is paying off.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Early Access and still no fishing? Literally unplayable. What are these folks even doing?!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely incredible. The only co-op extraction shooter type game I've played so far that feels even close to being on the same level as Deep Rock Galactic (one of the best games of all time).
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I like the game. But the loop gets repetitive. No innovative builds from the jokers. Nothing interesting to make me want to keep playing at this point. More quests would spice up the game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolute cinema. The game is so perfect. mixed with Helldivers 2 and Deep rock galactic. im so glad they are working so hard to deliver game polished. Even it's Unreal Engine 5, and they somehow are even better than other UE5 games. Impressive. 19,99$ is very reasonable price. I havent got bugs, crashes or anything yet. Been played since Demo aswell. I can't complain. I can recommend at current state!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Literally Helldivers 2 and Destiny 2 but way better Really fun gameplay, amazing soundtrack, beautiful environments and art style Minimal grind but has some puzzles as core gameplay Absolute masterpiece of a game. I love it 10/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My only disappointment with this game is that steam apparently doesn't know me very well and never recommended it to me so I only found it by chance a week ago. Robot space cowboys silly extraction horde shooter (adjacent) game with flying trains and low-tech old west themes? It's like this game was made for me specifically. The feel of the game is so good (gunplay, spells, movement, MUSIC, everything) that even playing completely solo I've been having a blast. Cannot recommend enough, if you…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you put deep rock galactic and helldivers in a blender with a dash of unique flavour. Fun AF.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Some dude with 'drunk' in his screen name with only 5 hours in this game said it was grind fest that would take over a hundred hours to figure out what guns he would like to use. I unlocked all weapons and spells and utilities at around 30 hours. I'm really irritated by his review. Do you need 100 hours to understand that you can't equip a scope on a minigun? Shotguns are for close-up damage? Yeah. This game is a grind. But it's fun. You can't get hundreds of hours of gameplay from a single…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Far Far West needs the Moonbase Alpha text to speech for the in game chat For immersion
positive · AI labelView post →This team of 8 passionate and talented devs made something more polished and fun for their early access launch, than what most AAA studios can crap out on full release. Why are you still reading, buy it already.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is great, and I had a bunch of fun playing... alone, sadly. Unfortunately, there is one problem that I have with this game. That is the fact that it fails the same way other FPS rouge=like games do. It's only good at one part of the genre. The FPS part is great. In a way, it's a bit of a boomer shooter which is a good thing if you can handle the stress that comes with that kind of gameplay. But the rouge-like aspect of the game might as well be nonexistent. There aren't any real…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →TL;DR: For an Early Access game this is very impressive. Well worth the money. I can't believe 8 people made this. Playful and fun. Gunplay feels good, runs great on a mid rig. Difficulty comes from additional abilities on monsters and damage, no bullet sponges. Builds feel diverse enough due to lots of perks, guns and abilities, allowing for a customizable experience. There's multiple maps with different objectives, side quests and jobs for various NPC's. Decent enemy variety with differing…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is great in respect to it's gunplay, movement, spell combos and upgrades, but the main issue I have is with the map design itself. Coming from DRG (Deep Rock Galactic), I've always enjoyed the interactivity you had with the surrounding environment, no 2 runs will have the exact same cave. In this game, it really just feels like you're moving to different points of interests doing chores. Some of the events are fun and unique, but I can see it becoming repetitive or old soon. I know…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Overall, the game is engaging thanks to its smooth gameplay, unique style, a pretty solid soundtrack. But no matter how polished it may be, there are still issues — significant ones, in my opinion. The first thing I noticed when I played in public was friendly fire. It simply should not be in a game with this pace, the huge quantity of effects on screen, and especially builds/jokers that rely on HP. I understand that the developers are heavily inspired by Helldivers 2, and there’s nothing…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not even an hour in and I can already tell I’m going to play this game for a very long time. Combines so many elements super well: The smooth gunplay/magic dynamic from Gunfire Reborn and Borderlands, the easy to navigate level selection system from Helldivers (also quirky mini missions from Helldivers), the fun aesthetic of games like PVZ GW, and the game is dare I say perfectly optimized already. Also, as someone who uses my handheld pc a lot, it was really unfortunate that Helldivers 2 had…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's Deep Rock Galactic, Helldivers and Serious Sam all in the same game, it's really fun! Only complaint's that it runs on UE5, but I guess nobody wants to use any other engine these days
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →this game brings the joy of old gaming the community is great and its just a fun time for everyone to just get on and be a goofy cowboy with magic 100% recommend to everyone
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's fine now. I think it'll be great past 1.0. Main things for me: It's light on content (devs are promising more). Gameplay loop is centered around progression, and progression is good. Actual gunplay could be improved. Core gameplay: It's a mission-based co-op game, but you do your missions on an open map. There are also side missions you can do for extra goodies (mostly character progression). Strengths Explore/Side missions in an open map feels fresh (compared to similar games with…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is as if lort, deep rock galactic and helldivers had a baby and we don't know who the daddy is.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DRG but Cowboy Its great fun but you will exhaust all content besides prestige and some challenges tied to it within 15 hours. Considering its early access i hope they add a bunch of more mission variety. It suffers from the same issue as DRG that eventually you will do the same thing over and over with no changes but the map maybe. The enemy AI also isnt very challenging since you can simply skill some speed into your character and bunny hop in a circle to train the enemys or keep your…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I saddled up for Far Far West expecting a dusty little indie ride… and instead got a full-blown rootin’-tootin’ yeehaw of a game. To compare it to Deep Rock Galactic is like comparing whiskey and bourbon: technically different, but both will leave you grinning like a fool and wondering where the time galloped off to. They’re equal in fun and both deliver that sweet co-op, lots of customization and total chaos. Hopefully, the developers will keep putting their love into this game! I’d write…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I'm loving this game called Far Far West
positive · AI labelView post →I was having a good time of this, playing with friends on low difficulty. Good, but nothing really exceptional. I still have to dip into harder difficulties to know what this game is really like, but I'm having fun up to this point. And then I got a gun to level 100. "Okay, time to prestige it. It'll be useless until I get it back to level 40 but it'll be stronger for it after that." And then its level went to 1, but its upgrades and jokers didn't go away. As a former Warframe player I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dang, Far Far West is off to a good start for an early access indie game. 1153 user reviews, 97% positive. Launched just this afternoon. It's a bit like if Helldivers was a Ratchet & Clank spinoff. Robot cowboys versus the undead.
positive · AI labelView post →I uninstalled Helldivers 2 to make room for this. I made the correct choice.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I played a lot of this during the play-tests and it only keeps getting better. I started playing this as I was just looking for a fun fast-pace shooter and this is it. For 20 bucks, it is already a steal for what it is.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →My friend gifted this game to me and then I asked my friend to toss a coin in the wishing well because he's the luckiest person I know. We got nuked instead. Best experience ever. [10/10] would get vaporized again & laugh all day long with my friends. YOU HAVE TO try this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →10/10 Can throw your hat infinitely and create a pile that somehow creates little to no lag. Amazing game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I came across this game thanks to a twitch stream by the guys at Ghost Ship Games (Deep Rock Galactic).. It looked so interesting and fun that I decided to pick up a copy and give it a try.. I'm now responsible for the sale of 5 copies of the game... 3 within my family, plus a couple of my DRG buddies, who bought it on my recommendation. It's absolute peak!! I've over a 100 hours in the game now and I've still not fully tried all the weapons / spells / loadouts and I'm not yet tired of the…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Rock and Stone? For Super Earth? Yes. This game captures that elite "extraction/horde" magic from DRG and Helldivers 2 but adds its own unique flavor. Most Early Access games launch broken and empty; this one launched polished and packed with content. 11 hours in and not a single technical issue. The devs are clearly cooking something special here.

neutral · AI labelView post →I want to comment specifically on the music: it's fantastic. Driving beats and rhythms, blazing banjos and harmonicas, all of it dynamic and reflecting what you're engaging in. We need more of this! Keep that composer on retainer.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best games I've played, period. it's early access, but already incredibly fleshed out. This one's really special, give it a try and enjoy the craziness that is Far Far West. :)
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Dear developers, please add DRINKING DIFFERENT ALCOHOL DRINKS to the lobby. In the wild west setting, it’s missing to drink tequila with friends or something more serious. As a dwarf from the Deep Rock Galactik company, I miss the fact that I can’t drink with my party members until I faint) And for an early access game, the game is not bad :D
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →2026's deep rock galactic/helldivers 2, except it's more fun and faster paced. has easy-nightmare level challenging difficulties, loads of easter eggs, spells, weapons. the grind feels great, everything is achievable for free in-game. cosmetics, emotes, EVERYTHING. been having great fun, will continue to do so the devs have planned to add loads of things into this early access before full release, looking forward to all the features and especially the next type of enemies/faction 9.3/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Robot cowboy horde shooter, boss fights, tons of enemy variety, maps, progression systems.. Bought it the second it hit the store. Must play!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you like Risk of Rain 2, Helldivers 2, or Deep Rock Galactic, chances are you'll like Far Far West. This game is not only fun and challenging, but it has fantastic style, and the entire world just feels unique and interesting. 10/10, I love this game.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is so insanely well polished for an early access game. Controls are satisfying and snappy, enemy feedback is clear, the character build options are complex and interesting, literally everything I want in a co-op horde shooter. So excited to see where this game goes from here since I can tell the developers are having a lot of fun with it, and I am too.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Stupid silly fun. Reminds me of Deep Rock Galactic, mixed with Borderlands and Sea of Thieves. Fun and silly, recommend.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →With the second hotfix this problem is now FIXED! Thank you, wonderful devs! You are awesome! Good day, lads! As much as I loved the game, guys, GUYS, NEVER EVER LEAVE THE GAME WITHOUT GOING TO THE MAIN MENU FIRST! It corrupted my safe files TWICE. About three hours of gameplay to waste :( Other than that the game is hella fun. Just, please, fix this issue. Thx
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Insanely fun cowboy game, very similar to Deep Rock Galactic. Excited to see the future of this game.
