Prolly coz my new movie wife Rachele Brooke Smith plays the ubiquitous Femme Fatale, yes, but also coz it ain't half bad. Which means it's only half-good, but still!

I read him say the branching moral pathways function of certain games that inspired Femme Fatale, she plays through the movie first as a bad guy then replays as a hero. and some of the POV shots in Snake Eyes were looking quite gameic to me tonight...

neutral · AI labelView post →It's such a beautiful film. What is interesting about this particular academic theory is the idea that Film Noir (& the Femme Fatale) actually was a female gaze genre, and not principally male gaze. The reason for this is that it grew out of Horror, which was audienced by women. a female monster 1/

neutral · AI labelView post →East Cherman Power Lifter is also wearing the Left Thigh Garter that's part of female combatant wear. Femme Fatale is smoking a cigarette in a holder, like she's from a different movie from 50 years before this one was made, and blows it into East Cherman Power Lifter's face. Someone gonna die.

FF seems super fun - I can definitely see the potential for a lot of replays with it and a lot of variety in terms of how you can approach the scenario.

neutral · AI labelView post →A film is popular because it appeals to an existing audience of filmgoers or creates a new audience out of the old ones. When a film fails to do either of those, as with Femme Fatale, it fails to do well financially. Noting this is not a statement of the film's quality, but explaining why

neutral · AI labelView post →Femme Fatale (2002) The moviest movie a movie has ever movied. And to be perfectly blunt, my opinion of someone is diminished if I learn that they don't like this.
positive · AI labelView post →There's a convenient tossing of an empty helmet that prevents a tank gun from going off (don't ask) and it seems to blow up with Femme Fatale riding on top of it. (We're either right at the climactic fight with a long end-of-movie setup for sequels that never happened, or this is a false climax.)

neutral · AI labelView post →Just watched #Fatale with Hillary Swank and Michael Ealy. Not very good so won’t write a full review. Neither of them felt right for their parts. #Movies #Noir
negative · AI labelView post →Decent thriller that at least had some okay twists. It's definitely one of those guilty pleasures as it is pretty much an R-rated version of a Lifetime movie with all a soap opera like plot. Nothing mind-blowing and a bit forgettable, but I did like both Ealy and Swank in the leads. 3.0/5
