Originally Fist of Fury then re-released under new title to capitalize on success of The French Connection

neutral · AI labelView post →Thinking about "heroes need to get beat up" while watching FIST OF LEGEND this morning. It's a remake of FIST OF FURY and like that movie, you can probably count on one hand the number of hits Chen Zen takes. (In both movies together, honestly) and yet it works.
neutral · AI labelView post →I've watched three Bruce Lee films this month, and I have to say that I thought The Way of the Dragon was a lot more interesting than The Big Boss or Fist of Fury. A movie about identity as much as kung fu. Bonus: 1970s Italian fashion Malus: Chuck Norris' chest hair

positive · AI labelView post →NEW FIST OF FURY (1976) Need a stoic, unfunny actor for your movie? Yeah, that guy Jackie Chan should be perfect.
neutral · AI labelView post →TRIVIA: The fight scenes were choreographed by Donnie Yen. For this film, Yen mentioned that he included nunchaku and the screaming elements as a tribute to Bruce Lee, who played Chen Zhen in the 1972 film ‘Fist Of Fury’. (Wikipedia) 🖤

neutral · AI labelView post →finally got to watching Fist of Fury (1972) tonight. it really felt like what if Ip Man REALLY wanted those guys dead, I was genuinely shocked at how ferocious Bruce Lee moved in this movie. The final fight scene, especially the last 5 mins basically invented Hokuto no Ken too. Wondrous classic

neutral · AI labelView post →watched Fist of Fury (1971). It's been so long since I've watched a Bruce Lee movie, I think I was a child when I saw him last, so this is pretty fresh. Very flashy and violent movie with some great fights. Does drag a little in the third act, but not much.
positive · AI labelView post →Fist of Fury is one of the best movies I've ever seen. It's a Bruce Lee film with stunning martial arts and a tense and tragic story about the cycle of revenge enhanced with real-world context. And I learned yesterday it has at least three sequels starring Bruce Lee impersonators. 😬
positive · AI labelView post →Now watching Fist of Fury (1972) starring some fellow named Bruce Lee. Just one furious fist, huh? I guess the other fist is chill and relaxed and doesn't punch anybody. I'm going to assume that that's the central conflict of this movie #Filmsky 📽️
neutral · AI labelView post →Someone at work asked what's his best movie and the few responses were all for Enter the Dragon or Way of the Dragon and that's wrong, his best film is Fist of Fury. But that the other films work at all is proof of his unmatched star power.

positive · AI labelView post →My personal fav Jet Li film is "Fist of Legend", where he re-made Bruce Lee's second film "Fist of Fury" (released as The Chinese Connection in the U.S. for years) It's the film that made The Wachowskis call up Li's film choreographer, Yuen Woo-ping You don't have The Matrix without Fist of Legend
neutral · AI labelView post →46. Fist of Fury (movie, 1972) I'm not really a huge fan of these hot-blooded revenge stories and Chenzhen is kind of an idiot, but I do like that they were able to infuse some pathos in it by basing it around the Japanese occupation of Shanghai and the action was really good. I liked it overall.

positive · AI labelView post →Every now and then I hear rumblings about remakes of Fist of Fury or Enter the Dragon as though what made those movies good was the plot or high concept and not a unique melding of movie stardom and martial arts talent that was Bruce Lee.

neutral · AI labelView post →My ★★ review of Fist of Fury boxd.it/8wRlC9 After the wacky fun of THE BIG BOSS, Bruce Lee gets more serious! Better fight choreography, but absolutely dreadful revenge storyline. Lee is indestructible....literally. So why is movie so long? #filmsky 📽🎥🎬🎞 Criterion Collection 1036

positive · AI labelView post →Just finished watching Fist of Fury for the second time - the first was at least 35 years ago - and weirdly I think I enjoyed it more than my long-ago teen self did. My slow Bruce Lee retrospective began in May with The Big Boss, so will probably get to The Way of the Dragon sometime in November. 😉
positive · AI labelView post →I'm still so hyped, this movie was really really good y'all of course you are talking to someone who loves flashy martial arts movies! Enter the Dragon, Fist of Fury, Kill Bill, Karate Kid... I even kind of enjoyed the Tekken movie but maybe that was bc the lead was like really hot

positive · AI labelView post →Age yourself with a film you saw in cinema as a kid. Was dropped off to see 1972 reissue of "101 Dalmations"...so I went down the street to see "Fist of Fury". The MPAA be damned, EVERYBODY got in for kung fu and grindhouse and horror. Smelled of dead rats and stale popcorn, and it was wonderful.

negative · AI labelView post →It needs to be noted that the editor on MANY of these films was Peter Cheung Yiu Chung. He began his career in 1972. Fist of Fury was his SECOND film, and he worked on 166 films up to 2000. This might be the greatest filmography in kung fu cinema: www.imdb.com/name/nm01516...
