What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 226 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (24,322 of 27,663 positive).
Many players find the game addictive and fun, especially in the early hours. [1][2][3] Some reviewers criticize the game for being shallow and repetitive after a while. [4][5][6] Several players express frustration with forced ads and DLC issues. [7][8][9]

Fun so far, but it is totally unacceptable to show ads every time the game loads. Every time. I've never played a game that I paid for that showed ads like this. Please stop with the ads!

It's very linear for a management game. It plays as a series of objectives, and I never felt a real possibility of failure, which limits the sense of strategy. Much of the gameplay consists of small mini-games (fueling, cash register, car repair, etc.), making it feel more task-driven than management-focused. On the technical side, I didn’t encounter any bugs, and the overall quality is solid.

Bought an abandoned gas station in the middle of nowhere. Now I pump gas, scan groceries, clean toilets, paint walls, order stock and wonder why I'm doing all of this voluntarily. Somehow it's actually fun. My real job should be worried.

In this game of Honking Simulator, I mean Gas Station Simulator, run around leveling up your old dusty gas station while cars incessantly honk at you. Work day and night 24/7 with no breaks, as everyone says BEEP BEEP as you slowly go insane. Oh, you need a delivery of fuel at your gas station? HONK HONK MF. Then a fat child runs to me in the distance, and what does this child want? To spray paint my already falling …

''''10/10 — One of the most addictive simulator games I've played.'''' I first watched CaseOh play this game and thought it looked fun, so I bought it. Before I knew it, I had bought every DLC and spent dozens of hours running my gas station. The game is surprisingly addictive. There's always something to do, whether it's fueling cars, managing the store, upgrading the station, or dealing with the chaos that comes …

67% of the 226 Steam reviewers we collected recommend Gas Station Simulator. The complaint that keeps coming up: forced ads on game load are unacceptable. Deal-breaker or nitpick?

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Thinkin more about Tumbleweed store simulator game, it would probably end up more like Gas Station Simulator, with both a convenience store and auto repair shop (with a neighboring diner), cause that was always a central landmark to the story. (Picture only related as in these are citizens)
neutral · AI labelView post →Use to be good. I defined this as the simulation game that no one knew they needed. it was fun, excited and great. However since the initial release, this company has ignored feedback and instead pushed unwanted dlc and refuses to fix problems in the game. In addition this week, they released a spam report in weekly updates so that they could use AI to advertise their game dlc that no one asked for.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Simulators - they aren't really simulators, are they. Most of them, including this one, are just a series of minigames mixed with simple strategy and goals. In Gas Station Simulator, you've just purchased a dingy sideroad gas station and you're tasked with making it grow. In order to do this, you're going to have to make money in order to purchase improvements that will, in turn, allow you to make more money which - you guessed it - will allow you to purchase new improvements. The station…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yo, I just wanted to run a gas station. Pretty dang simple. It's a pretty straight forward idea. Maybe touch up the place a bit, sell new conveniences inside. Upgrade the outside. It's wasn't too much ask, or so I thought. This "software" is loaded with minigames, that attempt to do everything in it's power to distract you from running a gas station. In fact, the game focuses more on throwing bs scenarios in your face, to try and make you forget as quickly as possible that you are attempting…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really loved the base game, but each DLC that's been added has caused more and more issues within the game. I don't know why the devs didn't just make standalone games with these DLCs instead of ruining a great game. If you do buy this game, only purchase the base game and use the free DLCs. It won't break the game, there will be a few issues with traffic and customers acting funny. None of that is game breaking and so you can still enjoy a great game at it's core.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →LOVE LOVE LOVE this game, but you should listen to your players and add multiplayer. You have 14 pages of requests to play with friends, why not give the people what they want?!?!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well like alot of simulator games this is also fun but hen youre done youre done. is like an 40h game and thats it.

neutral · AI labelView post →The game is good, but it's unfair that 10 achievements cannot be completed without DLC.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is semi-entertaining. Devs are not. They admit in the Steam discussions that they intentionally forced advertisements on players for DLC they have already purchased.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great initial game a ton of fun, most players love the management, staff hiring and logistics but don't like most of the tedious mini-games, they are mainly hit and miss. The rest of the DLC appears half baked with even more tedious mini-games. Its sad because the DLC and game are full of great ideas and could have led to players like me just simply buying the whole bundle to manage as one big sprawling empire, imagine finding and hiring the right staff for all the roles, managing the…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →60 hours later, I've called it quits on the game. The first 30 hours was a fun grind restoring the gas station and leveling up, but after you build the drive-in cinema, the Party Pad, the Ice cream machine, etc, there is no more desire for grind. I get excited by growth, I wish the game let me build the gas station even bigger with more pumps, more convenience store space, bigger parking, etc. A carnival DLC would be really cool! The in game Ferris wheel is aesthetic, but I'm sad people cannot…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game feels very shallow. yeah its good for a dozen or so hours, so if you get it on sale it will be okay for the money, but it all feels very much like the business model was to sell you a game and then squeeze more money from you by selling DLC to add substance to it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You know that sad moment when you finish a house in House Flipper and similar games where you've spent hours and hours laying everything out the way you like it, have a lot of beautiful screenshots, but then the only choices the game gives you are either to keep the house yourself forever or just sell it? Did you ever wish you could see it as a living, breathing house? Gas Station Simulator is built for people who want to avoid that sad moment and watch their creation do stuff: it's House…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you have an ultra-wide monitor beware. This game runs like crap on ultra-wide and the devs know it. Also, WTF is with forcing me to lock my FPS. I have a VRR monitor for a reason. Go play one of the other million "simulator" games and give this a pass.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Arriving at Gas Station Simulator in 2026 is a bit like showing up to a party after everyone has already agreed the food was excellent. Ten thousand positive reviews got here before I did, the discourse has been settled for years, and my contribution to it amounts to nodding politely and saying yes, that was indeed pretty good. Which is unfair to the game, honestly. I have spent the intervening years playing simulators that learned from this one, refined its ideas, sanded down its rough…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was a pretty fun time to sink my teeth into. I did not beat it because I lost interest, but 12 hours of fun in a game that only cost me a few bucks on sale is pretty good. the reason i lost interest is because there isn't really any story to keep you going, and I just sort of got tired of working the gas station. it helps when you can *finally* hire employees, but i felt like the progression was obviously and intentionally hampered so you specifically were forced to unlock things in a…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gas Station Simulator had a free update a while back that added a drive-in theater to your desert gas station empire and I started playing it this week and to my delight discovered you can add your own mp4s and screen them so computer people are now enjoying my theater midnight preshows from 2023
positive · AI labelView post →💔Good game💔 💔In this game you can upload your own clips and watch them in a drive-in theater with a beer and a cigarette💔 💔In order for DLC Car Junkyard and Airstrip to start working, you need to make decent progress along the storyline of the game💔
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bad optimization and memory management.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game was unplayable for me. After purchasing and troubleshooting found relevant review that this doesn't work with ultrawide displays. Requested refund, would like to play if it supported my display resolution of 5120x1440. Was looking forward to it, game had very positive reviews.

I wish I had figured that out earlier! I do enjoy the game more now that I'm not constantly sprinting around in a panic
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →If you don't really care about a sim game using realism as its dump stat then you might be ok with this. I used to run a real store and this thing is just varying levels of wrong and weird. That said, I'm going to try the pros/cons thing I see others do. But I'm leading with the cons for the tl;dr crowd. Cons Nothing about gas is based in reality. The margins can be absurd, like buy at $2.25 and sell at $3.09 -- this is not a thing that happens. The gas tank starts at 200L but the model is as…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The very first thing it did was show me an ad for another game. The second thing it did was crash my computer.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Starship Simulator on Steam, check out the demo!. Seems we got a myriad of simulator games, from Lawn Mower Simulator to Gas Station Simulator. Starship Simulator makes sense and seems like a trekkie's wet dream. Demo available during Steam's Next Fest. Trailer below https://youtu.be/Zvl7Ce1oJzo
neutral · AI labelView post →So, the game looks good, it's honestly addictive, and i love theses job simulators. I really want to enjoy the game, but the stutters are killing it for me. Even on my Radeon 9070 XT Sapphire Nitro+ OC 16g,it still freezes and stutters every 5 sec. I played 3h, and honestly hope i can get i refund. If not, I'll try to keep playing, but, man, I really hope the devs fix these stuttering issues. I don't know why devs are so lazy with optimization nowadays. Every game, whether it's indie or…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I finished this game in roughly 40 hours, and about 20 of those hours were spent standing in front of the lottery machine waiting for someone to make me bankrupt and occasionally stealing from cars, and this is a "maybe" that I'm putting as a no for a few reasons based on how much you love sim slop games. This game is fine. It's a grindy slog, but if you're like me, putting on a youtube video and grinding away is genuinely enjoyable and I personally enjoyed myself for the price. However, it's…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →solid value if you get it on a sale. If you're into simulator games, this definitely won't disappoint. surprisingly intricate
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love management sims but this was very meh. Graphics are bad, bugs are constant, and the gameplay is way too repetitive. Ironically, Roblox has a better version of this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was pretty cool at first but the paid DLC spam is a bug, not a feature. Nothing short of an obnoxious money grab. Pick the game up on sale but do not spend a penny on the DLC. Vote with your wallet.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →very slow gameplay, lots of bugs (models clipping , audio randomly stopping ), choppy animations also
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Well they dind't lied this game even got me more into simulator games, Its a long time that a game got me this hooked. But don't play such games if you still suffer from a monkey brain or have that urge for esport gaming. These games are build for listening to podcasts, to relax, for older gamers. If you are that type of gamer defo buy this one, its a steal for 10 bucks. And the game still get updates It gets a high recommend from me
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game, loved the campaign although it was short. about 10 hrs of campaign then 10 hours of finishing objectives before you run out of content. worth the cost.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Unfortunately I can't recommend this game, even though it's probably one of the better simulator games. The game suffers from performance issues in some specific situations and the gameplay can be boiled down to just ordering things once you start getting employees.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Play the base game and skip the DLC. The developers have done a great job balancing the everyday grind with a genuine sense of accomplishment and satisfaction. You’ll get about 15–20 hours of enjoyable distraction before the novelty wears off. That works out to roughly ¢55 to ¢75 (USD cents) per hour of entertainment. That's a pretty solid return on investment. Juega el juego base y evita el DLC. Los desarrolladores han hecho un gran trabajo al equilibrar la rutina con una auténtica sensación…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really wanted to like this game. One of my favourite gamestyles is the rags to riches simulator, but in this case, it was more of a rags alongside riches kind of game. You can make all the money to purchase every single upgrade and the station will still look downtrodden and disheveled. You'll paint the walls and after about half an hour, you have to paint them again cause the paint doesn't last. There is a mini game for painting walls, selling items, filling the gas, lockpicking cars,…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →lovely game, but the optimizations are horrible
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →One of the best simulator games I've played. All the mechanics are simple to understand, but make the game that much more complex and entertaining. I really like the combination of automation and still having to do certain things yourself - I only wish there was a louder cue for dennis, lol.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bugs aside, I enjoy this game an unreasonable amount. I can't help it, I like the subject matter and aesthetic, and it puts me in a fun, zen kind of flow while managing an increasingly big gameplay loop. And so much stuff to unlock. Dopamine machine go brrrrr
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Heya folks, here's a first set of screenshots featuring The Last Gas Station by Alawar. This game is pretty great so far. It's essentially a 2D Gas Station Simulator but with a mystery/conspiracy themed story. #thelastgasstation #videogames #indiegames #simulationgames #screenshots
neutral · AI labelView post →You can't complete the game's achievement without buy the DLC : I think this should be noticed to anyone who want to buy the game. I think the game should be rename : Gaz Station : pawn of your uncle. It tells you a story where you have 0 freedom for managing things. they are some cools stuff, but it's really cheap in the way that choices are inexistant, customization is awefull, and control are terrible (i don't even mention Rudy's gameplay mecanics).
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I really enjoyed this game. You start with a run down shack and can eventually get to a deluxe roadside stop for all sorts of things. The progression was setup well. When a task became repetitive I was able to hire an employee to do it. If you enjoy sim building up business games this one is pretty good.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a decent game, but I don't think you are really missing much. This is my first simulator-type game that could have been cut down to 8 actual hours of core gameplay, and I started to lose interest after the Car Washing simulator part of the game around 7 out of my nearly 11 hours in... The unlocking of more employees was the most frustruating part. Can't really recommend it, because while its "fun" its not really something you should buy unless you REALLY like simulator games
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is early access to the demo! If you enjoy please go wishlist it on steam. Remember to also, like comment and subscribe <3 Game - Airport Contraband, from the devs who did Gas Station Simulator youtu.be/9uPgWKbZcFI?...
neutral · AI labelView post →Fun, relaxing and chill. Depending on your goals and aims, it could be a bit grindy too. To me this is the original, in my eyes this is the one that inspired this recent sloppy retail management simulation flood on Steam. I highly recommend it as your entry to the retail management sim games.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I want to play another shop keeping game like Gas Station Simulator but there are so many now...I have no idea which ones are any good
neutral · AI labelView post →Used to be really good ran perfect now its a laggy mess idk what happened but its kinda trash now
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I absolutely love this game. I completed it in a week time because it was so much fun. I will say, I wish there were more ways to upgrade the station without having to buy extra DLCs and I wish the Car wash were easier/faster. but overall 9/10.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →0/10 would not recommend. Cannot pet the Gustave. Seriously, though, the Drive-In Cinema FREE DLC that they released in March 2025 is inaccessible in the game...still... Fix that and you'll get a thumbs up from me. At least it was free?
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gas Station Simulator genuinely surprised me in the best possible way. What starts as a simple idea—renovating and running an abandoned gas station in the middle of nowhere—quickly turns into a highly satisfying, fun, and engaging experience. The atmosphere is very well crafted, and the sense of progression is fantastic. Every upgrade, whether it’s expanding the shop, adding new features, or hiring staff, makes your gas station feel more alive. I also enjoyed the variety of tasks: fueling…
