What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 185 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Mixed (2,918 of 4,447 positive).
Many players are heartbroken that the game has been abandoned again after its re-release. [1][2][3] Reviewers widely report a dead playerbase, making matches nearly impossible to find. [4][5][6] Some players allege the developers prioritized cosmetic sales over fixing bugs and adding content. [7][5][8]

This game breaks my heart so badly, it physically hurts. Even after given a second chance it was left in an unfinished state with no intentions on maintaining it upon release. All the maps, lore, and characters we saw on Gigantic's original farewell stream are yet to be made. I cannot bring myself to play it anymore, because I'm afraid of being disappointed. I don't want to see the state of things, I don't want to …

There's literally nobody playing this game. 0.4 player 30 day average. Just leaving this review so people know not to buy it. It should be free or like $2 max just so people could revive the game maybe one day, or if a group of friends wanted to play it. It was fun while it lasted.

Gigantic Rampage edition was a re-release of a beautiful and unique Third Person shooter/moba, originally developed by Motiga. Unfortunately, the devs in charge of the re-release have failed to fix many of the bugs that killed the original game while adding more in the process - moreover, they arent fixing anything yet adding cosmetics to the game... The playerbase is practically non-existent during the week, with …

Really amazing game that seems to have been taken over by a greedy company that said they were going to reboot it but proceeded to do nothing with the game. The game was originally free to play and when they rereleased it I was ok with paying 20$ because I had faith that the game could make a comeback. However they never said anything about future content for the game and ended up never doing anything. Just a …

Bought this on rerelease. Will always love this game and character designs, used to play it a lot before it shut down originally. Now due to very poor studio/dev/publisher decisions they prioritized skins and money and never bothered to even update the game after launch, now only 1 person buys this game every 2 weeks to not find another soul playing it, the servers will be ♥♥♥♥ down by the end of the year is my bet, …
Summarised from 34 of the 219 public posts collected about this game; every point cites the posts behind it ([n] opens the post) and the split is counted from the posts’ own ratings. Updated Oct 12, 2026. How summaries are made
23% of the 185 Steam reviewers we collected recommend Gigantic: Rampage Edition. The complaint that keeps coming up: game has a very low player count, often zero online. Deal-breaker or nitpick?

60 of 225 · most liked firstToday I ripped all of the voice clips from the game R.A.D: Robot Alchemic Drive, or as it's called in Japan, Gigantic Drive. I know how much people like Nanao here on Bluesky! Nanao's are there for your enjoyment somewhere. It's all entirely unsorted, though. Download: saralene.tv/junk/RobotAl...

neutral · AI labelView post →Oh hey, just noticed that Fantasy Maiden Wars is the cheapest its been yet. An excellent, absolutely GIGANTIC Touhou strategy-RPG in the style of the Super Robot Wars series. But with no knowledge of Touhou (it starts at the same place as the recent remaster game) or SRW required. It's just good.

Truly a bucket list of mine to collab with Bryan Lee O'Malley to make these. All the details and extras at Tribute Games!

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Ooof. A streamer I follow tried to play CoD: Black Ops 3 tonight. Within 30 seconds of them opening the game, their IP address was posted in their Discord and other shenanigans were happening. I'm still amazed that Steam sells the game because it (by default) has GIGANTIC nightmare security holes.
neutral · AI labelView post →I honestly am so sad this game has yet again flopped it deserves so much better. I see alot of complaining that the game is not free but what is not mentioned that there is no in game purchases. So yea its a one time purchase game unlike any other moba which are filled with micro transactions for skins and more. I'm not positive on the bugs experienced by some players but the devs should be surely ashamed to let something so good die off. And the players should be saddened by letting a 15$…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game rocks. It really does. And it's just a shame to see it die again. Re-releasing the same game with like two new maps, two new characters, some skins, and for some reason locking players from playing the actually fun/original gamemode behind a babyfied version of it until a specific level...and then just going dark for months? I have no idea what the hell is going on over at the dev team THAT WAS MADE TO WORK ON THIS GAME but frankly, it's not worth bothering.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →dev's just abandoned it soon after launch. I think if they had kept updating the game, NOT SKINS ACTUAL UPDATES, then this game would still be alive. Do not buy!
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →at this point just make it free to play to try and bring people in, no one is paying for a game with no playerbase cmon

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really wanted to see this game succeed. With *literally* zero players online, it's beyond saving at this point. Don't buy this game.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Amazing game that got gimped by lazy re-release "devs." As far as I can tell, it's in a good playable place, but just has no players. If you plan to play, you're gonna have to open up a private session. But be aware that you don't earn progression in custom games. You'd have to all queue up in matchmaking if you wanted to earn stuff, I guess. Baffling. Back when I still played, I remember there were a TON of player disconnects. I got disconnected plenty as well. I'm pretty sure that's…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is one of my favorite games ever, and it absolutely breaks my heart to see it die again. It looks like the developers have abandoned it. I really think this game could make a comeback if they just changed how casual queuing works, but I don't think it's going to get any new updates anytime soon, so I cannot recommend it in its current state unfortunately. T-T
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →At this point it's pretty much a scam. Was super cool like 10 years ago, but they had some dev problems and then re released the game in the exact same condition that it previously was in bugs and all. Don't buy, not worth the heartbreak
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fell for it Again reward by Randy. Bought game. Game stops updating within 6 months.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The state of this gem makes me genuinely sad. During initial release (2017) I remember this game being extremely fun and unique. Sure it was a bit unpolished but the potential was there. Unfortunately the studio had to shut it down only after a year of the launch. Cause there were no other games quite like this, I have been following for a possible successor since the shutdown. There was a small glimpse of light when Project Stamina was being developed by one indie company, but according to my…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This is how you fix things involving this game. 1-Free to Play, Paying for it and being abandoned feels like a scam 2-ADVERTISE IT! Take the money you stole from people, pay a few good animators and just drop something, anything. It needs to be seen, the idea is geniuinely perfect! BUT YOU GOTTA INVEST ON SPREADING THE IMAGE 3-Be transparent with the community, you guys just took our money and ran away, not even pretending to be doing something, anything. I'm not asking for a new Map or a…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →they did it AGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAIN
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →absolutely devastating that the devs let this game die not once, but twice. please, someone give this game the love it deserves. its so cool in concept and initial execution, but the direction its going and the support its giving are killing an already dead game.

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I've never been so disappointed by a company in my life. This actually hurts my heart knowing that a game that was initially developed with such passion and creativity was just utterly destroyed by something as simple as handling its re-release with lack of common sense. Now this game is dead once again and I fear it'll never come back due to the sheer idiocy of either greed or retarded upper management/marketing decisions that killed it once more, perhaps both.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it's honestly heartbreaking to see a game like this just crash and burn for the second time without anybody noticing
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gigantic was originally released in 2017, and like many online games, it failed to attract a large enough playerbase to be sustainable and was quickly shut down. It was a game with a lot of love and passion behind it, but unfortunately, that wasn't enough. Gigantic was fairly niche, and while it had a high amount of skill expression, most matches would eventually devolve into mindless brawling. imo the main mode was simply underbaked. If Motiga had more time I have no doubt they could have…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE WORK ON THIS GAME MORE!!!!! IT COULD BE SO PEAK
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game deserved better, it's not fair Gets revived years later after a failed launch only for it to be left abandoned and left for dead again. Sad to say while it remains dead, it's not worth the $20. If you really don't mind only doing custom bot matches for the foreseeable future, get it at a discount, otherwise I wouldn't recommend it. It's genuinely a fun game that deserved a second chance, but sadly they've done nothing with it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not a day goes by that I don't mourn the loss of this game and the incredible potential it had. We miss you, Gigantic. I hope one day you get the devs you deserved
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DO NOT BUY THIS GAME IT IS DEAD AND SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE STORE! I am sad about this as well. I loved the game when it was first in brought up, then they brought it back and I was hyped and then it was dead and it sucked.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Its dead, again...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →(this is just me screaming into the void) The only thing that gearbox could do is just let us salvage what they have failed to bring back, like allowing people to host community servers, but that's probably just a pipe dream, even to this day, I still wish that the game was given a actual change for a second comeback, instead of them giving us 3 months of patches and reworks, and then the other 5 months were just skin, skins and more SKINS! they stop updated the game since Oct, its dead. ):…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I love this game so much. I loved it on its first and second release but unfortunately you just cannot get into a game not to mention it was riddled with bugs and crashes.... Such a shame, its just unplayable...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fantastic game, poorly handled for the second time. 30fps lock and broken matchmaking on launch. Sad to see this game fumble twice cause it really did have the potential to be something special.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →These people baited with nostalgia of a hero shooter/moba concept that hooked so many before, but this is literally just a husk of what it used to be, a corpse being dangled to a crowd that once wanted this game to succeed and with that they stuffed their pockets and dipped without addressing any issues or fixing any of the game breaking bugs, it is absolutely disgusting behavior and just downright a mockery of its death.

neutral · AI labelView post →Do not buy this, its a dead game. Was fun while it lasted, was nothing like the first game. Rampage was only worth the nostalgia of the original Gigantic if you where one of the 200 people who played the beta.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very fun game but was abandoned a second time.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You tried. I know you tried. This world is just too harsh for such sweet thing like you.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →want this game to be good one day... it has no players, and the game barely works best part is spamming the discord the mods there get so angry :) @Jerry23dr
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The only issue is how few people know about this game, the fundamentals are all there, the art is beautiful, the concepts are unique and fun for anyone that likes fast paced competitive games
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Huge stop early in the game. Huge. Gigantic even.
neutral · AI labelView post →I absolutely adore Gigantic, and likely always will. That being said this re-release is not perfect. To start there are only maybe 2 characters that I don't remember from the original, and the Rush mode which I also don't remember kind of takes away one of the most creative parts of the game, being the creature summons. They haven't added any new creatures whatsoever. Unfortunately I foresee Rampage Edition going the same way Gigantic originally did and fizzling out, BUT that is a fate I hope…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Gigantic shoutout to the wonderful @davis.social for helping make this happen. Really a game changer
neutral · AI labelView post →They really brought this game back just to let it die all over again.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is hilarious. They ♥♥♥♥♥♥ scammed everyone AGAIN LOL
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I’d been dreaming about this re-release for years, telling everyone it was the best online team battle game I’d ever played. But I never imagined I’d end up so disappointed. They launched the game as a paid version, even though the original was free. I’d like to belive the developers understand that games like this - hero shooters focused solely on PvP - NEED to be free-to-play to attract players and stay alive by selling cosmetics, loot boxes, and other in-game items. The result? I can’t…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fell for it again award :(
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game itself is one of the most fun hero shooters I've ever played in my life, and the only MOBA that has ever grabbed my interest. That being said, DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. It completely lost all developer support shortly after re-launching, and was basically dead on arrival. It was very very fun to play the original release, and this new re-release, but this is the 2nd time the developers have failed the game, and made an incredible opportunity an extremely missed one. Very very disappointed…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Absolutely pathetic what happened here. I was hyped for the Gigantic comeback (no pun intended), and you completely dropped the ball. This wasn’t a relaunch — it was a bait-and-switch. You got everyone’s hopes (and money) up just to pull the rug. Feels like a straight-up scam.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fantastic game, Amazing concept but the glaring issues have been ignored.... Sadly with no transparency and acknowledgement on the issues, its getting dunked a second time. On this day, I checked DB, there's only 1 player currently and 5 peak for the day... I love this game and its sad to see it go...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Never once got into a single match of this game because there is no player base. Really sad because the original Gigantic was wonderful. This is just a way to scam you out of $20. DO NOT BUY
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →/Never fall in love with potential
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fairly unique spin on the shooter/MOBA genre that failed to break the mold... twice. The first launch while it was free-to-play was honestly much better. Combat and matchmaking were pretty fluid, unique characters accommodating multiple play-styles, and it wasn't anywhere near as stressful as most of its competitors, as it was very simple down to its core, and the community were pretty chill. It was a game I loved back then, and am a shame I didn't play it more during that period. This…
