Has one of the worst save systems known to gaming, but Stoneshard is still worse. Say you spend an hour clearing an entire dungeon, and you are under the impression that when you go home the game saves. The developer tells you the game saves at the beginning of every morning and evening, BUT! what it actually means is that it saves in the morning AFTER you complete the un-skippable NPC events. Just, maybe play on easy difficulty first to reduce frustration with the game. --- We really haven't had a good dedicated stealth game in some time. The overall gameplay loop is fun and all, but as of now the game lacks some needed QoL features. -First of all, more control over sound; There is first of all the Fart Dash, which is as it sounds, a dash with a comical *PFRT* sound effect. Not something I minded at first, but gets annoying fast. You will of course dash all the time, either to quickly get around or to escape enemies, and hearing that comical sound effect while serious music in the middle of a chase happens is taking all the…

One of those games I'd give a neutral to if I could. There is fun to be had. There is also frustration. Unlike the other negative reviews, I think the actual issue with the game (which other problems feed from) is the shop/selling system. By default, 4 customers come to your store each day, and will only purchase specific types of items (eg: swords, potions). Usually, all four customers will want virtually the exact same items, as there is a system that goes "tomorrow more people will want…

I like this game but there is too many flaws so I cannot recommend it to others. First of all, the save system is too frustrating. You cannot save anytime you want (like just before going to the dungeon when you just have bought every upgrade you deemed necessary and with your backback fully ready). So each time you reload the game, you have to redo everything. I can understand that you cannot save inside dungeons, but, at least, let us save anytime we want during the shop management.…

I really enjoy this game, it's hard in just the right way. Like flappy bird, you always want to try one more time when you fail. However, it is difficult to recommend this game because of a game breaking bug that makes your entire backpack disappear when you die. It seems to be persistent once it begins, meaning that for the rest of your game you must never die or always lose 100% of the things you picked up every run. I have the item that increases your death backpack size, and this bug seems…

I will probably play more, since I like the core concept, but at the time of writing, there's a fair amount of bugs, typos and lack of polish here and there, so I don't feel comfortable recommending the game at the moment. I'll update the review if I do end up playing further. Devs seem to plan to add some QoL features.

I can't say I’d recommend this game right now. Everything feels painfully hard and overly punishing, even though I am a big fan of Souls-like games. I’m also not a fan of the bartering mechanic. It feels like you are just rolling dice, and there aren’t enough ways to actually make the system fun or enjoyable. As other players have mentioned, the economy is frustrating. You have to save a massive amount of money for your mortgage, collect specific quest items that you aren't allowed to sell,…

The core gameplay loop of stealing in dungeon then selling in the store is great fun and the movement feels good (for the most part) but there are the following issues that stop me being able to recommend: - The biggest issue is the save system, there should be a suspended save system, I get the devs don't want save scumming for the best loot but at least give me the option to suspend my game so I can pop to the shops irl without having to leave my PC on or lose all progress - There are a…

I did a video review of the game as I think with this kind of gameplay time under my belt I have the adequate toolset to make a fair assessment of the product., you cam find it at this link: https://youtu.be/CNusJaiQyso In short, it's a fun different metroidvania that focuses more on a stealth approach than an all out action game like others in the category. The gameplay isn't bad, but the bigger problem is that the developers are stubborn and refuse to listen; the save system is obnoxious and feels like it was made by amateurs. They want to control when you can and can't save.........in a single player game. Probably better to support devs that aren't power/ego-tripping, regardless of the quality of the game. Wasted potential.

Just felt unfun. The loop itself is good and if you are into sneak gameplay, this will scratch that itch, but I hate "playing under pressure" or with annoying timers. One of the main reasons, I just cannot get into Farming Sims etc. Even if you utilize all the things like: Contracts, Preorders, Newspaper prediction for high in demand items, It's just unfun. Also some QoL updates would be good too. I guess most people go into games like this, especially with the artstyle and gameplay loop,…

The game is alright, I guess. I haven't played enough to really judge it, although I can see certain aspects getting pretty bad pretty quickly. The real issue is the obvious AI art and the lack of any declaration that it is so. At first, you think it's a style choice, but then you see the 'blood elf' and...c'mon. The devs have mentioned temporary placeholder AI art in a FAQ post, and mentioned it's all been removed....well, if you trace over AI art, is it really any different? Whatever the…

10/10 recommend. If you find the game very hard, here are some tips for new players: - Check the journal, make sure you can pay the rent - Use your items in Dungeon - heal, get buffs, or even place negative items onto enemies - Stock up and add to your backpack before your runs - Use bones - lots of bonuses from Bones, such as Luck, will help you get better loot This is a very enjoyable game once you get the hang of the learning curve. Goblin Vyke: The Thief Tycoon is a really good game. I’m not usually great at the Metroidvania genre, but this one feels surprisingly comfortable. You can just sit back, relax, and play with your controller. I actually played it before release as a playtester, so the hours on my profile are only from after launch. What I liked most is the mechanic where you brag about an item to increase its price. It’s fun, but once you start bragging you can’t go back to the previous price, which feels like…

we really need some form of quicksave system. I understand the punishment of death, but when you have a gem that shrinks your death bag your just gonna keep reseting the day. im not saying to save mid dungeon, Just after the setup. Im tired of forgetting to reset my charms, employee quests, collectables, mask unlocks, and backpack inventory every time i die because if i forget something thats just another meaningless reset

One hell of a fun concept. It can be a tad difficult at times, and there are some nasty bugs. But as of writing this review. The Devs have released 3 hot fixes in the last 3 days. Clearly they're tyring to fix it. This game is a lot of fun so far, and it has some real promise. ALSO!! Found this one by chance through the Stray Path double bundle. 100% worth the price when bundled with another have. And I can confirm this game works flawlessly on linux.

This is a solid game overall, especially if you enjoy stealth-based gameplay. The main idea is simple: sneak around, steal items, and try not to get caught. If that sounds like your kind of playstyle, you’ll probably have a good time with it. As you play, you can upgrade your mask to get boosts and perks that make sneaking and stealing easier. There are different difficulty modes too—personally, I tried the bold mode (basically hard mode), and it’s really tough to upgrade in that setting. I…

The game has a solid game loop with steath base metrovania coupled with dice based shopkeeping. I like how the inventory management is incorporated into the thieving aspect and how we need to priorize different loot in the metrovania for the shopkeep. The enemies are frustratingly stupid. I've seen them stop mid-chase many many times. Unless you're directly next to them you'll hardly be able to lead them anywhere. Speaking of, they'll just walk into or infront of any trap without any doubts. The game is less favourable if you're actually trying to stealth and remain hidden. It's so so much easier to kill all enemies on a trap. Especially when you consider how luck potions work, having all enemies lootable in one place guarantees you'll…

If you like Moonlighter in the concept of a shop simulator mixed with a more action-y game, this is for you. Though instead of a Zelda-like, here it is a 2D Stealth Game. The only big negative I can think of is the fact the sounds are as bit meh. The jump has the exact same sound, and so does sneaking and climbing ladders. To be honest I'm really impressed by this game! I read a lot of reviews before buying and thought it has potential but isnt playable because of the bugs and glitches. I wanted to wait for some patches but got tempted and bought it anyway. As far as I am the game feels really great and polished (not talking about small mostly even funny bugs). The one thing that triggers me is lack of cancelling fall damage with double jump but I guess it's intented to be that way. Core gameplay is a really…

The save points in this game are absolutely brutal. Every time you finally get everything set up, build momentum, and play carefully for one or two hours, one mistake gets you killed and sends you all the way back to the beginning. The frustration is overwhelming. And don’t believe those streamers online — most of them have played the same section hundreds of times and only uploaded the successful run.

I was hooked for like 3h.. then after that i was bored... I was aware that was a roguelite and some repetitive element would be in the game since i'm a huge fan of roguelite... But there's only repetitive elements. Better quality loot to sell that all. This get boring fast. I tried to force myself to progress and that was a waste of time

I love this game too much! Played probably a hundred hours of just the demo, bought the full game as soon as it released and I'll probably put double that into it. Sat down to play it last night, "Just one dungeon crawl" 8 hours later it's starting to get daylight outside and I have work in 3 hours! X) Caught a nap and shook my head at how late I stayed up playing this... but here I am back for "Just one dungeon crawl"... P.S. after 80 hours and having beaten the game it's definitely…

Super fun stealth game with a rewarding loop. Difficult without being overly punishing. Definitely recommend for the price!

Challenging dungeon crawler gameplay without the conventional ability to attack. Lotsa fun using wits to outsmart the enemies, solve puzzles, be creative with abilities, inventory management when stealing, and pushing your level of greed for bargaining and extracting. Ability to load previous saves provides some room for variability in story or redoing the entire day / evening. Would recommend GV:TTT to those who like the indie game feel and are up for a challenge growing their small shop…

4 🧌s out of 5 I keep finding myself wanting to play more, which I think says more than my words can. A very fun game loop of stealth dungeon crawling and a bartering minigame reminiscent of Dice Blackjack. The graphics and character portraits look great. The dev is taking in a lot of feedback and polishing the experience. Well worth the money. EDIT: I see that some players were unhappy with the mortgage at the beginning of the game. The developer patched this portion of the game quickly to…

The game is extremely fun with a very unique gameplay style. The developer seems to be willing to take the feedback and do the necessary changes, so even tho the game need some improvements, it's a positive feedback from me.

1000/10 game! Would recommend! The puzzles are amazing and the stealth is really fun. It is difficult so I would advise playing on the first two difficulties (for the first couple areas I could play on difficulty 2 but had to go to the easiest one later) but you also don't lose a ton from dying. A lot of people have complained about the game punishing you too much (asking for too much money too quickly) but I have never had this issue even though I haven't been greedy in my stealing. Also, if…

A fun game with a solid loop- It is first and foremost a stealth game, with your rewards being filtered through a small shopping section at the end of each day. It's more for people looking for a fun mix or a stealth game than a shopkeep game, but it's quite well made for it! Also, please read the reviews- you'll note that even the negative ones tend to just say they love the game but had issues keeping up with something or other. So adjust expectations and go get greedy! Goblins rule.

The Swindle. Moonlighter. Recettear. If any of these games brings you joy, I would say give it a try. I am loving it so far, I love the aesthetic, a lot of the design choices, I have died to my surprise many times playing on the Greedy difficulty but having a fantastic time with it, it feels like the more I play the more it unfolds and I have to consider things far more carefully than I initially thought. The difficulty, gameplay and music are all excellent. I think some of the sound effects…
