90% of the 259 Steam reviewers we collected recommend God of War Ragnarök. The complaint that keeps coming up: vRAM memory leak causes crashes every 1-2 hours. Deal-breaker or nitpick?

Critics, per Wikipedia

God of War Ragnarök on PS5 received "universal acclaim" from critics, according to review aggregator website Metacritic, garnering a score of 94/100. This ties it with both the original 2005 installment and the 2018 installment for the highest Metacritic score in the series. Writing for IGN, Simon Cardy said that Ragnarök provided fresh interpretations of well-known Norse mythological characters, and the actors gave them a unique take that was different from their popular MCU counterparts. Tamoor Hussain of GameSpot opined that out of all the many different takes on Norse mythology, Ragnarök's is "easily one of the most memorable", as it takes the mythology, deconstructs it, and rebuilds it…

Amazing game but please bring the new god of war laufey game and the trilogy remake to pc. Its a huge mistake backing away from pc. I am not buying a ps5 for one game series, and while others might I know I'm not the only one. Your exclusives sales are only lacking cause 1. The economy sucks right now and 2. You don't release them at the same time, you release them on pc a year later at full price so people already know if its good or not from the ps players and have already decided if they're…

GOW Ragnarok is a game that's replayable enough to be completed twice for me personally, having last played it in 2022 on the PS5. But the main reason I played it a second time was to test how powerful handhelds or UMPC like my Steamdeck OLED and ROG Ally X at playing demanding High-end games like GOWR. I didn't expect the performance and graphics of GOWR, the sequel to GOW 2018, to be so much better. GG Gaben and Steam for the optimizations for handhelds or UMPC 💯

Modders negate God of War Ragnarök PSN requirement after a brief review bombing. > God of War Ragnarök is an excellent game; most honest Steam reviews indicate as much. It was also voted "Most Wanted Game" by the Golden Joystick Awards two years before Sony released it as a PlayStation exclusive. Post-launch, it earned the most nominations and awards of any other title at DICE 2023, winning seven of its 12 nominations. However, it lost the DICE GotY to stiff competition from Elden Ring.

This is one of the most touching stories I have experienced. Not just in a game, in general. While the gameplay is solid, combat feels good and exploration can be tedious, the narrative, the performances and the music together with visuals tell a beautiful tale of redemption, change, growth, choice... A big Majority of games that are over 100+ GB are rather confusing how they are that big with the lack of content and all the ongoing bugs that come with it, Not only did GOW Ragnarok have an INSANE amount of content, but they made such a beautiful game with incredible story telling and the craziest part? I didn't encounter a single bug once the whole game. Santa Monica you really went above and beyond making 2018 GOW and GOWR and you can see the passion they had making both games. Boy/10

I beat this at launch on PS5 and it was an amazing experience. The PC version suffers from crashes that are likely due to a memory leak. Looking at the Steam forums it looks like many people have been experiencing these crashes for over a year. As far as I can tell there is no reliable fix. I think the developers should address this, or at the very least offer clear communication about how players can fix it themselves.

Amazing game. The continuation of our journey through Norse mythology, the combat is so smooth and the map design is very well thought out. Nothing feels like filler or that it was added just to fill the gap. In this game, you can appreciate Krato's grow, not only as a father but also as a person and see what Atreus wants to become. The ending of the game and the DLC is both epic and heartwarming. I hope i can throw hands with Ra in the future Santa Monica.

This instalment doesn't greatly differ compared to its previous release, which isn't a bad thing as God of War (2018) was incredibly solid. If you take the new weapon addition and the range of shields you can get into account, you'll find it massively adds to playstyle versatility. “Loki will go… Atreus remains.” At that moment, my tears just wouldn’t stop. The story of Kratos and his son Atreus touched my heart so deeply. Kratos’ story had always been one of revenge — revenge against Ares for killing Kratos' family, revenge against the gods for his broken fate. But in 2018, Santa Monica completely changed the direction of the series, eight years after God of War III. They gave Kratos depth. Emotion. Humanity. They showed us a different side of him — and that struck me,…

I thought I was going to play an expansion to God of War (2018), but it wasn’t like that at all. God of War Ragnarok is better than 2018 in almost every way, except for the story, which is still really good, but I personally prefer the 2018 story. They added one new weapon, and while the gameplay feels familiar, it still feels fresh and refined. The environments are top notch and absolutely stunning. My only real issue was with some sections where you play as Atreus. These parts are a bit…

God of War Ragnarök somehow managed to surpass my expectations. The story is incredible, with emotional moments, epic battles, and great character development from start to finish. The combat feels even better than the previous game, with more variety and satisfying gameplay. The visuals, music, and voice acting are all top notch. Every hour felt worth it, and I never got bored. It's easily one of the best action-adventure games I've played and a perfect sequel.

The game is fantastic but I will say there are a few parts of the game that are an absolute drag and it probably takes 3-5 hours of a 60+ hour completionest adventure. I do also highly recommend getting the mod that gets the boy to shut up
