A friend recommended GODBREAKERS to me just as a fun game we could play, which we did after playing the demo. I cautiously recommend this game. The Good: -The combat is fast, fluid and you can cancel out of almost anything with a dash. -The Buildcrafting is generally good, a bit underwhelming, but there's enough to keep each run fresh and it's fun to stack damage over time effects. -Stealing skills from enemies and using them is a good mechanic that adds variety to combat. -Most boss fights have good design. -The story has …

Making a game is hard and I try not to unfairly malign someone's work, but Godbreakers is missing crucial polish in a lot of small ways that ultimately add up to a frustrating experience. The art, sound design and music are all solid, with a bright, cartoony visual style that's somewhere between Gunfire Reborn and Solar Ash. There are some interesting combat mechanics and character classes that are unlockable without too much grinding (after 3 hours I have all but one of the initial group…

Game still feels like it's EA. The game lacks depth. Choices don't change gameplay much nor are they very impactful. It's hard to put a build together even with rerolls. Many roguelites eventually open up a shop where you can buy some items before starting a run to help direct your build. This game is completely missing that and given that you only up to 6 rerolls at the shop, it's very difficult to put a build together given that you need multiple 10 stacks of essences and 5 pieces of…

This game has the foundations of a great game, but it's not there yet. At its core, it has the potential to become something great. The combat is fluid and fun, and the enemies and boss mechanics are fun to fight. But, the game is ridiculously short and empty. This game has maybe 2 hours of content before there's not much more to do. The runs are mostly the same every time. The buffs are unimpressive, and there's not much variety. The runs are so short, by the time you get a build going, the…

It is ok, and starts out really fun. Then it just kind of falls apart. Combat just turns into you dodging 80% of the time, because enemy attack patterns don't seem to match player ability. You have a heavy attack and a charged heavy attack, but there is almost no time to ever use them. Then when you do the damage is pretty much the same as a few light attacks. Bosses are extremely easy, and only ever difficult when they spawn extra normal enemies. The bosses have cool attacks and well…

God Breakers is a 20-euro game, but in my opinion it’s not worth that price. Let’s talk about it. The game’s concept is nice, with a good combat system and appealing character and world art style, but it becomes really monotonous. You have only five worlds available plus the final boss, and in each run you only play through three of those five worlds. My friend and I completed a full run on our second attempt; unfortunately it was already too late for a refund. The truth is that the game gets…

I really want to like this but this feels like an early access game that should probably be closer to $10-15 range. Basically saw all the available content within the first few hours. TLDR: General lack of diversity and variety and a combat system with effectively meaningless upgrades mire what is otherwise a generally enjoyable gameplay experience. If you are so afraid of players breaking the game then don't make a rogue like and don't bother with upgrades. The majority of upgrades in this…

Fun game concept but lack of content holds it back. You can see the entire game in a few hours, definitely by 10 hours. It was a fun 10 hours with friends, but until new content is added, I don't see myself picking it up again. Each run feels almost exactly the same, the passives make very minimal (basically none) impact, and there are only 6 worlds, 2 of which you will see every single run.

Eh... missing variety in almost every way: levels, builds, character customization (unless you spent more money). I mean seriously, locking basic recolored cosmetics behind ridiculous hard tasks? Why would I care to try? Give me something worth my time, instead of putting all the creative cosmetics behind another price tag. I regret buying the game full price for lack of content. Hoping their updates will add more to the base game. But I'm expecting they'll add purchasable dlc instead...

As I approach 24 hours in the game, I thought I would give a few thoughts. It's awesome. At the game's core, you guys have hit the nail on the head. It feels amazing to play, coop has been a blast, progression is pretty straight forward, weapons feel unique. There is a ton going right in this game. Great fun, especially in coop. Looking forward to trying out more tangles - the ones in the demo made quite a big difference in how you needed to approach fights and should hopefully provide a decent amount of replayability. Upgrades start off quite minor early on, but once you start unlocking some of the meta progression, and the runs get a little longer you can really start to make some fun builds. Gameplay feels good and is generally just fun, but it's ridiculously shallow. Combat is enjoyable and fluid, though it could use a lock-on system at times. Weapons are unique in terms of animations and abilities, but they're all pretty much identical in terms of moveset. Light combo, heavy combo, charged heavy, movement attacks. The only differences between weapons outside of visuals are the values it ties to your character, i.e health, damage, speed. Enemy designs and combat encounters are…

Very disappointed by lack of content. Combat is good but is repetitive. Roguelike elements are stale and the incremental progression is bad. I don't understand why they built an endgame challenge concept when there is hardly any incremental progression to reward the player. Also cannot believe this isn't early access; there are early access games with way more content. Not worth $28.

The game goes against the pillars of a rogue-like. The perks that pop up are boring, uninteresting, and rarely synergize. The buffs (essences) increase your power by so little, that when you don't have the ones you had on the last run, you don't really notice a difference. Backstab items seem to be the only thing that makes you play differently, outside of the 6 different weapons or characters that use those weapons. TLDR - Tentative. Don't buy above $5 or $10 and only if you want to experience coop with friends. Solo you can have fun with the combat and working your way through the worlds and bosses, but do not expect any proper roguelike here. It's non-existent. I was a bit late to the party on this one, but that apparently doesn't matter considering the game studio 'To The Sky' has dissolved and no longer exists. I absolutely LOVE the gameplay, for a game that put gameplay first during development, it shows. The animations are fluid and the ability to cancel any attack with a dash just feels so smooth. Game has strong potential. Combat is fun, smooth and non-jank. Biggest unfortunate is the customization. Game advertise as customize your own look, the only customization is headpiece and various colours for your body. Armor pieces such as chest, legs, boots, shoulders etc have unique visuals when picked up during missions. As a drip master, this is a major letdown. I hope they consider adding for every piece you get in the future, that you unlock and can customize at hub before venturing out.

Very good game. There is a target lock for people wondering/wanting it, turned off by default in the settings because generally the game plays well without it and a lock on doesn't make much sense to use by default. I really liked the game, but it's kinda easy and very short =( It needs more content. Each run is just a 40 min run and the builds don't change THAT much. You have a few things you change, but in general it all feels like the same spamming of three buttons. I still recommend, but it needs more content.

If you like challenging combat, cool weapons, outerspace/sci-fi, this game is for you. However... This game needs WAY more content. There is no real in game incentive to keep playing once you have max upgrades, unless, you REALLY want the cosmetics OR a certain weapon ability unlock. Combat is super good, but isn't quite enough to keep me wanting to play since I have the cosmetics I want already unlocked and I don't much care for some of the other weapon ability unlocks. Here is to hoping…

I thoroughly enjoyed the challenge, until the grind became incredibly under-rewarding.

Game Play is fantastic. Very Smooth, art style is great. Attacks are very responsive. Only downside is the rougelike options for perks could be stronger

Finally a co-op game I can play with just my friends without having to play with strangers online. Have only just gotten into this game but I really enjoy the combat mechanics, and the adorable enemies! There's a lot of depth to the upgrades and build-system and theres for sure a bit of a learning curve but I enjoy that it's not too easy right away.

God Breakers has an interesting art direction, pretty good VA work, the music is not bad at all, however... The gameplay loop is underwhelming, each zone feels too linear, and meta progression is incredibly boring. I love Meta progression, but I also love roguelikes with little to no meta progression, but this game just, isn't using what it does have well, it squanders it's own potential. This game as it is now, is simply a demo you have to pay 20 dollars, its too bare bones and hasn't found…

This is an excellent co-op roguelike game, if you pick it up on a sale - the non-reduced pricetag is just way too high for the amount of hours it realistically has to offer. The movement and combat in the game feels great - it is very fluid and intuitive, there are plenty of combos and playstyles to master. Both character/enemy and environmental design looks wonderful, I really enjoyed how the world looks, as well as the meaning behind it. There is a sufficient number of unique enemies,…

*sigh*...this game is so close to being great but has so many minor problems that add up to a very dull experience overall. Firstly, the dash. The dash only being for movement and not giving you I frames at all isn't inherently a problem, but when the dash takes 3 seconds to recharge and you have 3 charges, it gets problematic fast. Some boss attacks come out so quickly and in such a large area that 2 dashes are needed to get out. If you used dashes to get in, you're most likely gonna take…
