Like, we all pretty much agree Gods of Egypt was a bad movie, but it's still got defenders because they think we're mad about the Black God and not the whole entire cast of White Guys. Even worse is Captain Marvel. It's just a terrible non-plot without any character growth and intrigue, it's the female version of Green Lantern 2011, but unlike Green Lantern we can't all agree it's a bad movie for all the same reasons.

I didn’t even know this series was still a thing. The original DragonHeart came out in 1996 with Sean Connery as the dragon and made enough money to be called a “success.” Mild, but enough. Since then? Four sequels. Straight to video. And this one, Vengeance, is the latest entry. Now here’s where it gets interesting: it’s not bad.…

positive · AI labelView post →I've just learned that the writing duo behind Morbius are the same writing duo behind Madame Web and suddenly so much makes sense. Especially when I remember they're ALSO the writing duo behind Gods of Egypt and the Lost in Space remake movie.
neutral · AI labelView post →Our 200th Episode Spectacular is up, and it’s a movie you all picked! It’s GODS OF EGYPT, starring patron saint of the podcast Gerard Butler! Also others.
neutral · AI labelView post →Gods of Egypt is maybe the most recent Didn't Know How Good We Had It movie. a dumb ass big budget (attempted) blockbuster that's this bafflingly idiosyncratic would be so refreshing today. and it's only eight years old
positive · AI labelView post →I got reminded that "Gods of Egypt" (2016) is a movie that exists and now I'm angry.
negative · AI labelView post →Gods of Egypt is such a shitshow of a movie but is also a 2010s Fantasy movie released in 2016 because only this movie has Gerard Butler as Seth turning into the ugliest fucking thing you've seen that year
negative · AI labelView post →He gave a ‘masterclass’ at the Melbourne Underground Film Festival operated by his friend the nazi sympathiser Richard Wolstencroft. If he made better movies than Gods of Egypt maybe he wouldn’t feel so dejected by the industry.
neutral · AI labelView post →Is there a movie that you know is bad, is universally decreed as bad, but you love it? Mine is Gods of Egypt. Gerard Butler as a giant Scottish Egyptian god, Chadwick Boseman camping it up, and Geoffrey Rush looking like he escaped from a makeover on Drag Race and being utterly bewildered. Love!
positive · AI labelView post →Bujji & Bhairava - prelude to Kalki 2898 AD (Indian Cyberpunk?). I happened to stumble upon this today and wanted to talk about it. Bujji & Bhairava is an animated 2-episode mini-series (15 minutes each) prelude to one of the most expensive Indian movies ever made, [Kalki 2898 AD](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kalki_2898_AD). Now, as far as I can tell from the [trailer](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-rTzyZZGJ84), Kalki 2898 AD doesn't actually look cyberpunk to me. It looks more like…
neutral · AI labelView post →I enjoy Gods of Egypt, even have the Bluray. It's a dogshit movie but good junk food entertainment. Kinda gives me The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen vibes which is another crap movie I like. Not sure why, I think I'm just a sucker for ancient Egyptian themes even when they're butchered to the point of being insulting.
neutral · AI labelView post →The same guy that compared film critics to vultures over the critique of GODS OF EGYPT. Which would mean his film would be considered roadkill.
neutral · AI labelView post →Chadwick played the Egyptian god Thoth - the god of wisdom - in "Gods of Egypt" 👏 I just watched this film two days ago. www.imdb.com/title/tt2404...
neutral · AI labelView post →Gods of Egypt. I’m probably one of the only people who remembers this movie
neutral · AI labelView post →I remember my coworkers wanted to go see Gods of Egypt and I was like nah I'm good. They asked why and I said don't wanna see a movie with all yt folk bout being Gods of Africa. Rest of the car ride was more tense than Anne Franks' cellar when them boys came around 😂😂😂 couldn't even argue with me
negative · AI labelView post →Regarding Proyas, long time since I saw The Crow (but remember I didn’t like that much), Knowing however is a fantastic movie and Gods of Egypt is one of the better in that genre. I wonder if I, Robot holds up?
positive · AI labelView post →It's the writing team of Sazama and Sharpless. There's even a Reddit thread of "how do these guys keep getting movie deals?" Madame Web, Morbius, Gods of Egypt, and more.
neutral · AI labelView post →I think my cable provider should deduct 50 cents from my bill every time they show a shitty movie like Aquaman, or Gods of Egypt.
negative · AI labelView post →the movie he describes already exists It's called Gods of Egypt
neutral · AI labelView post →NERD ALERT PRICE DROP! I don’t know jack about the League of Legends game. But I do love a good Egyptian mythology reference. I mean, I’ll willingly watch Gods of Egypt, and that’s a terrible movie. What I *do* know is that this action figures set is an amazing buy for $11.25 on Amazon.
negative · AI labelView post →I put on that Gods of Egypt movie on in the background, and the armored gods are kinda sexy ngl
positive · AI labelView post →2. Going to see CAROL - but theater screwed up and showed GODS OF EGYPT in 3D by mistake. We didn't even have glasses. After 15 minutes of this terrible film, theater realized mistake, turned it off, and gave us passes to come back to another show.
negative · AI labelView post →Hot take: I know the Primarchs are supposed to be larger than life characters (both literally & metaphorically), but I can't be the only person who thinks that if we had live action versions of them they'd look a little silly? (Side note: Man, Gods of Egypt was such a bad movie)
negative · AI labelView post →There were plenty of movies that had a great concept, but the movie sucked. Like Downsizing, Mortal Engines, or Gods of Egypt. Any sci-fi from the 70s-80s where special effects are comically bad (The Last Starfighter). The problem is they would do horrible casting that didn't fit the roles now.
negative · AI labelView post →I blacked out 45 minutes into the hit film Gods of Egypt in the theater using a trick we call 'coffee thermos full of booze'.
negative · AI labelView post →I’m having a Gerard Butler film fest and trying to remember to keep knitting. So far I’ve watched Angel has Fallen and Plane. More up, Gods of Egypt. Den of Thieves 1 & 2 are up next. I’m still on the gusset decreases of this sock…
neutral · AI labelView post →Kraven was a good bad movie to me. It’s on my list with Mars Attacks!, Gods of Egypt, and The Phantom Menace With Two Or Three Beverages
positive · AI labelView post →What are four films you don't just dislike, you despise. #Filmsky PROMETHEUS: Also known as I ❤️ David, Part 1 GODS OF EGYPT: White people. That is all. Well not all, but that is enough. MINIONS: I hate these f*king little a*holes! EVIL DEAD (2013): Remove comedy, replace with body horror. Lame.
negative · AI labelView post →I think this is a worse movie than Dark City; its also a better movie than Dark City. That's two Proyases down; I don't want to watch Gods of Egypt again, and I'm fine not Knowing. I don't think he gets in this realm again, anyway.
neutral · AI labelView post →GODS OF EGYPT sucks but I cannot completely hate a movie that gives Nephthys* more of a role than she has in literally all of Egyptian mythology. *Yes, my dissertation topic, fine.
neutral · AI labelView post →Gods of Egypt is such a bizarre and nonsensical movie, down to the weird voice they had Chadwick Boseman doing. I was only a little bit stoned when I watched it and still I thought I was hallucinating at times
negative · AI labelView post →Thought I wanted to watch something truly stupid so I started Gods of Egypt. But there’s stupid and then there’s whatever that movie is. It turns out I love my braincell more than this so now I’m watching some Poirot. (David Suchet’s).
negative · AI labelView post →I noticed where he talked about Ridley Scott’s whitewashed Gods of Egypt… But Scott had nothing to do with that movie. That movie was by Alex Proyas. It was about Egyptian gods being cosmic beings. Scott’s movie about the biblical Exodus was called… um… Exodus. I gueeess I can see the confusion.
neutral · AI labelView post →He said that when the response from Gods of Egypt weren't very positive. Mark Kermode said in response "And your movie is a rotting corpse". That was quite the reply.
neutral · AI labelView post →They did it a bit in episode 4, one of the reasons I dropped this series. Not a great sign when it's in a boss fight that's supposed to be one of your early hooks. I mean, it was probably the least offensive reason, but I have to admit I thought maybe the studio was finally starting to get a handle on their weirdo cinematography that apparently saw Gods of Egypt and decided it was the coolest idea ever to wildly spin the camera in action scenes just cuz you can do that with computers now.…
neutral · AI labelView post →Instead of saying “If someone made a movie” why not say “When Gods of Egypt/Exodus: Gods and Kings/Lion King was made, we all thought it was ridiculous” Oh, wait, because they don’t give a shit about that. They only care about constructing scenarios where they’re allowed to be racist
neutral · AI labelView post →I’ve just discovered that I instantly like any Gerard Butler #movie 500% more if I imagine it starring Gérard Depardieu instead. Olympus Has Fallen ✅ Geostorm ✅ Gods of Egypt ✅ Law Abiding Citizen ✅ Gamer ✅ The second Tomb Raider?? 300?? God, I’d love Depardieu takes on all of those 🤩 #FilmSky 🎥
neutral · AI labelView post →That shitty Gods of Egypt movie if it was good.
negative · AI labelView post →Happy birthday to Australian film director, screenwriter, and producer Alex Proyas, born today in 1963. Proyas is known for directing such films as The Crow; Dark City; I, Robot; Knowing; and Gods of Egypt. #AlexProyas
neutral · AI labelView post →Gods of Egypt (2016) i am being entirely serious when i say that this is one of the worst movies i have ever seen
negative · AI labelView post →There must be balance. That's what I told my wife: there has to be balance. Last night I put on Shin Ultraman. It was amazing. A pop art masterpiece. But, as I said: balance must be maintained. One night, a great film... So, I'd been meaning to see the 2016 movie, Gods of Egypt... #filmsky

Korey, Martin and Billy look back at an overdose that was such a box office bomb that it basically killed the trope for a bit as GODS OF EGYPT gets Double Toasted!

neutral · AI labelView post →That, too. I said British because I came across the Hades game and all the Greek deities have British accents. The same happened in the Gods of Egypt movie.
neutral · AI labelView post →I really enjoyed GODS OF EGYPT. Just a properly good looking zany movie. Space worm monster!

neutral · AI labelView post →I'm getting flashbacks to Alex Proyas blaming critics when Gods of Egypt flopped. I mean, even if he believes critics have enough sway to tank a movie, surely it would be better just to maintain a dignified silence.
neutral · AI labelView post →I recently made the mistake of watching Gods of Egypt. I expected a lackluster movie but HOO BOY. Banging my head against a wall for two hours would’ve been more enjoyable.
negative · AI labelView post →Oh and the movie Gods of Egypt. Fuck that bullshit
negative · AI labelView post →GODS OF EGYPT - a AA Blockbuster film that won't let a lack of resources get in the way of endlessly ambitious imagery. Sometimes it looks great, sometimes it looks AWFUL, but it is all stuck together with a sense of joy and play. Who knows what the truth is, but it FEELS like a scrappy underdog.

neutral · AI labelView post →The only time I spoil a movie on purpose is when I hate it so much I want to make sure no one gets tricked into watching it. I would love to spoil Gods of Egypt for that very reason. No one deserves to sit through that pile of non-movie. Problem is that I have no memory of the plot, so it is impossible to spoil. You could probably convince me that anything happened in that film and I would believe you. All I know is that it was so anti-immersive, that I ended up becoming painfully aware of…
negative · AI labelView post →KNOWING is actually quite good. Since GODS OF EGYPT he's just been making shorts, but it looks like he's got a film in post production fight now R.U.R. (Rossum's Universal Robots) which is based on the 1920 play that coined the concept (and name) of robots as mechanical, humanoid, laborours.
neutral · AI labelView post →...what would have otherwise been dismissed as an action/comedy larf with a premise too weird to actually hit, instead became an albatross around his neck...the budget to bloated to ever be recovered, turning the film into an internet meme joke much like Alex Proyas' GODS OF EGYPT.
neutral · AI labelView post →Gods of Egypt is...so bad. I want to like the effects but the movie itself is so laughable that the sfx don't matter.
