Was gifted to me by a friend who instantly took a liking to it, and wanted me to play it. Simple indie game with a simple premise, but a surprising difficulty to the platforming. Definitely worth a look if you're into 3D platformers, or if you appreciate chill devs who put love into their work.

Makes sure to hammer it home by burning your retinas with a final level that's just the color white and you can't see where you're going. Note for completionists: Has missable achievements, no chapter select and requires multiple playthroughs.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Very good indie game, I would reach the peak again and complete the game 100%.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Look it's not a BAD game. It's a functional game, with varying levels of challenge. But I am too old and value time too much to really recommend it to anyone. I ended up quitting even though i was fairly close to the end. I just didn't feel like it was worth any more of my effort - the challenges in the later game were too difficult for what I am convinced is little pay off. There's no story, no point except to see what's next. The arctic village area just did away with all my motivation. I…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is really buggy, half the time the crosshair will be yellow but I can't connect to the clay.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A nice, relatively easy and forgiving 3D platformer. During platforming sequences you can usually pause after every obstacle / jump. Some of the items you have to or can collect are really hard to find, but Google / Youtube is your friend there. Also, if you want to 100% the achievements and are in the Mountainside Village (the 3rd area of the game), don't leave until you have unlocked the "king of wood lions" achievement.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A fun exploration game, finding the secret is definitivly the best part of the game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Yall please check out GRAPPIN on PS5 when it releases, or on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series if you have those systems! This game means alot to me as it's one of the first games I ever reviews on video and also won a Give-away from. I would love for more people play it, so please check it out!!
positive · AI labelView post →It starts out alright with promise but the game gets worse as you go along, checkpoints are annoying sine sometimes generous sometimes you can get set back a lot. The cursor spins and was distracting and made me a little sick to look at which caused me to havve to put my deck down to go do other stuff. Physics are a mix standing still you can control fine but if you use the run button you lose all control essentially. The abandoned village level was horrible with the grapple essentially gone…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was fun up until the last three levels: 3rd to last level was terrible because it basically a precision platforming level. This would be fine, but the movement in this game has a lot of inertia--meaning that the controls feel very floaty. It is incredibly hard to land on tiny platforms as a result. 2nd to last level was a giant open world and had terrible performance. You had to unlock gate after gate to proceed until the end. However, because the level was so large, it was very…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's a hard one to review for me. I loved the Demo and the dev was really cool about feedback and adding features into the final game. Now that I played the full game, I can confirm that the first four or five levels, one of which was the demo, are entertaining and breezy and relaxing, they're really a joy. You get to traverse with the grapple, which gives you access to remote areas and let's be honest, zipping around is just really fun. Unfortunately it feels like the game runs away from…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →In castle stage I glitched into heaven after entering and exiting a zone full of gears in which I was disallowed to jump. I then confusingly wandered around wondering what I was suppose to do as I wasn't paying attention to the cut scene that I believe was made to tell me what to do next. Eventually I found myself back at the zone where I couldn't jump. I entered it once more and exited once more. I then noticed clay on the wall above that zone and promptly decided to grapple it a bunch of…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Pretty fun and reminiscent of Zelda games, especially with the grapple hook mechanic The game is linear but looking for the relics is pretty fun. Reminds me of Knuckles sequences in Sonic Adventure 2, kinda There are a few minor collision issues but overall, the game is fun and looks pretty nice. Having a blast so far!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A decently good game with story, exploration and secrets. Loved the platforming. The only bad thing is the white level of the good ending. That gave my eyes cancer. 8/10 game

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Coming in hot off the heels of the hugely-unplayable disappointment that was AtmaSphere 2, I am pleased to report I not only enjoy the very amusingly-titled GRAPPIN, but can safely say that it's one of the best games I've ever played While only 8 levels long, and able to be boiled down as “Grab the required relics to open the gate, then proceed to the next level” (All able to be played without stopping to load anything, and the “See it, and figure out how to get there nature of them bringing…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's pretty unique in its own right. It's a mix of exploration and platforming, but your main tool to explore is a grappling hook. There are two different kind, one that is pretty short, and one that is very long. The latter is used like 2-3 times. You will also have to use momentum to go higher or farther. You have to gather multiple skulls in order to unlock the next level, and are free to look for some more secret ones. You have a short description of each location in the menu, and are meant…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Finding all the relics in each zone is the highlight of the fun, and the immersive atmosphere, perfectly complemented by the music solidifies the overall experience. I just wished the trace grip was available more often, it is a nice change of pace when exploring the world
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun little indie game. It will take a few hours to complete and if you like challenging platformers, then this is the game for you. The level designer may be a little sadistic though :p
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I struggled, and I beat it. This game is tough - but not all of it is intentional. I had dozens of times where I'd clip through terrain, get caught on geometry, or where my "Grip" wouldn't cling to the clay I was clearly targeting. I wasn't sure if all of the difficulties were intended, but for 60%+ of the game, I considered this a rage game. I don't play rage games and usually like relaxed or cozy games, which I was hoping this was. I was WRONG. For long stretches of time in the late game, I…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Take this Review as someone that didn't complete the game and you should put it with the rest of the "Take with a grain of salt" ones.. I honestly enjoyed the first couple levels and was actually having fun looking around and hunting for the skulls and whatnot. But the lava level kinda ruined it for me, it went from a fairly open and neat grapple platformer to a closed off, no exploration, arcadey platformer with moving platforms and little grapple use. Could work as it's own game but that's…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Got a game-breaking bug at the end; at one point it removes your jump ability. However, after it removed this jump ability of mine, it bugged my game and brought me to a section outside of the map. In order to get back to the correct level, I had to go back to the main menu and then click 'Continue'. Upon doing this, it brought me back to an earlier section of the game where I still need my jump ability, but my jump's permanently disabled. I couldn't find any other way to progress again, and…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →GRAPPIN delivers a fun and well designed first person platforming experience built around a satisfying grappling mechanic. Movement feels smooth, exploration is rewarding and the level design encourages curiosity without becoming frustrating. The game combines light puzzle elements with vertical traversal and creates a relaxing atmosphere through its visuals and soundtrack. While it’s a shorter experience, it stays focused and makes good use of its core concept from start to finish. A solid…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Short but fun game. Mostly platforming your way through levels. Finding all the relics does make the game a lot more enjoyable.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not worth it. Good concept, but poorly executed. Hard on the eyes for no reason, not sure why everything is so bright. Easy 100%, has missables.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game was beautiful and really fun, but why did it turn into a parkour game instead of focusing on grappling? That kind of lost me.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →GRAPPIN starts today. Time to figure out the mechanics, find the rhythm, and start swinging through whatever this game throws at us. New game, fresh grind. Come hang out: twitch.tv/xandler1
neutral · AI labelView post →Haven't dropped a game so quickly as Grappin in a long while. I really like the idea of having a grappling hook and to platforming challenges, and I like the simple graphics. But it should've just been straightforward levels, rather than open areas where you have to hunt for items to progress. Shame
negative · AI labelView post →A fun exploration game
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game could have been good but the game design missed the mark. Many people complain about the platforming or the grappling, and sometimes it can be inconsistent that you can't grab something you should be able to but it works well enough. Also the jumping with platform momentum feels fun at times but is way too hit and miss with trying to predict when the platform will stop that it leads to too much trial and error and should have only been included with platforms moving up and down.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →From the beginning, i was "hooked" with the art style and the beautiful soundtrack by Benoit Malis, but it's the core gameplay with the grappling hook that really stood from the rest. Grappin is a wonderful 3D action-platformer that made me smile a lot of times. It is bold, it is challenging sometimes, and above all it has a great soul. It is made by a single dev, so yes, it has a rather "short" lifespan if this kind of parameter matters to you (5 to 10 hours to complete, it depends on…

I went through it twice, collecting all the relics, and it was such a rewarding experience. The game allows you to take your time in a peaceful world, while also providing challenging sections that require you to master the mechanics to reach certain places. The graphics are absolutely stunning, and it’s clear a lot of care went into creating the environment. I do wish I had…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Cute and original. It starts easy and chill, and difficulty increase smoothly. Great music too!
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Fun game to play
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Really fun and relaxing game about a grappling hook and a mission.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Last few levels are an absolute drag, i enjoyed the grapping alot and then i got into the laser levels. I feel like they add nothing but frustration sadly. Then i enterd the lost town/village level and its so much different then the start of the g ame which i liked so much. I think if you could have made more of those levels and made them fun and challenging i would loved it alot more.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The thing I don't understand about this game is the progress isn't automatically saved after you pass the prelude, now that I have to replay the start again
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →decent game but not anything special 6.5/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Besides some questionable design choices, bugs, my computer exploding, and me getting terribly motion sick... this is a solid game. I had more fun on my second run for the other ending without getting all the collectibles
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I originally saw the recent ad for this game coming to PlayStation, and found that it was already on Steam, so was excited to try it out - especially for such a great discount on the Steam Summer Sale. Unfortunately, before even getting past the main menu, I was experiencing issues. There are basic video settings missing, such as choosing fullscreen, borderless windowed, or windowed - it's just locked to fullscreen. Changing the resolution is extremely glitchy as well, and menu selections do…

It's the perfect mix between taking your time in this relaxing world, and challenging sections to get to certain places. I love the graphics, and I wish that I had a better graphics card to enjoy the environment more. Hoping for a console release at some point! I love the ending, which explain some things and it has a nice twist. I can definitely recommend this game to anyone.
