Directed by Paul Greengrass
During the U.S.-led occupation of Baghdad in 2003, Chief Warrant Officer Roy Miller and his team of Army inspectors are dispatched to find weapons of mass destruction believed to be stockpiled in the Iraqi desert. Rocketing from one booby-trapped and treacherous site to the next, the men search for deadly chemical agents but stumble instead upon an elaborate cover-up that threatens to invert the purpose of their… From TMDB

They all but called it The Green Zone where the U.S. led military coalition claimed to have put down an insurgency only to have it explode catastrophically and lead them…

positive · AI labelView post →Good movie. People should stop wanting things to be Green Zone. Green Zone SUCKED
negative · AI labelView post →you’d hope that in 2026 a JSOC uranium recovery op would look like matt damon in the movie Green Zone (a bunch of dudes going “wtf are we doing here and why is the intel so bad”) but knowing JSOC it’ll probably be like JSOC guys in the movie Green Zone (dudes going WOO! while black-bagging randos)

The US has the world biggest embassy in the zone and it's described as "overlooking the Tigris River". It's not clear the number of US troops in the area but due to the embassy they are some there. The US still has a few thousand military advisers so the US might be in command of some of the elements. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Green_Zone #GreenZone #Iraq #Baghdad

The director was Greengrass, not Spielberg, and the film was Green Zone, not Jaws (Stoppard rewrote The Bourne Ultimatum). Stoppard did say, after casting him in the Ros & Guil film, that he'd rather see Jaws without the shark than without Dreyfuss.

negative · AI labelView post →Bush, Rumsfield, and Cheney made the mistake of bringing Paul Bremer into the Coalition Administration of Iraqi. Bremer didn't understand the people, and he tried to disband the Iraqi Army..........big mistake. Not to mention that huge sums of money went missing. The Green Zone, movie, Mat Damon.
neutral · AI labelView post →i saw Omniscient Reader the movie. it was not as terrible as i feared? i was mostly entertained? but it cannot be called a high quality movie lol. in terms of plot they get up to the end of the Green Zone arc (and make a hash of the ending of it). so that's 3 out of 24 arcs. lol.
neutral · AI labelView post →A lot of mil guys don't like Green Zone. I like Green Zone. Not because it's a technically accurate movie, but because A) That CAG guy absolutely chin checks Matt Damon's character out of nowhere. (Open palm but still). B) How it portrays the absolute clusterfuck that was the 2nd Iraq War
positive · AI labelView post →FTSOA: OK, assume the Iranian mullah regime falls. Given what we now know about the depth & breath of long-term Israeli covert infiltration into Iran, what might that portend for subsequent efforts to establish a modern Persian democracy? The paranoia & mutual contention—man! “Green Zone II” movie.

neutral · AI labelView post →Although not a commentary on the conflict itself, The Hurt Locker is about how someone can become desensitized to be addicted to war which is a more generalized criticism of war. Green Zone is a film that explicitly critiques the Iraq War so I’d say give that a chance. I also heard Body of Lies has

neutral · AI labelView post →Green Zone This was an interesting take on a GWOT movie and honestly it was kinda cool. The spooky weird stuff going on inside the US military and intelligence agencies was a good change of pace for this genre.
positive · AI labelView post →Watch “Green Zone,” a great movie that got screwed by a regime change (of all things) at the studio.
positive · AI labelView post →Rewatching director Paul Greengrass’ The Green Zone (2010) for no reason.

positive · AI labelView post →In GREEN ZONE (movie) Matt Damon's character MILLER is wearing a Palestinian scarf. Would you look at that. NO WMDs in Iraq. Palestine was right. Israel was wrong. Colin Powell was wrong. #PTSD
neutral · AI labelView post →I do love a Matt Damon film but have to admit that I hadn't seen Green Zone (2010) up to now (well, this time last year 'now'). You can't go wrong when Matt Damon and Paul Greengrass get together (3 out of the 4 of Damon's Bourne films) and this is, as you would expect, a solid action thriller.
positive · AI labelView post →I swear I saw you in a movie clip with Matt Damon. Green Zone
neutral · AI labelView post →Whilst I didn't hate this film, I really did wonder who on earth it was for? Is it just one of those retrospective conscience-salving efforts designed to deflect the attention of the audience as to just who told us all what ahead of the invasion or Iraq? In any case, the plot seems to suggest that that whole invasion was predicated on an elaborate American scheme to install a puppet administrations in that country. Based on what, precisely? Well - that's what "Miller" (Matt Damon) and his team…
