What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 289 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Very Positive (61,251 of 70,131 positive).
Players widely praise the game's excellent gameplay and high replayability. [1][2][3] Many reviewers strongly criticize the confusing and consumer-hostile purchasing structure. [4][5][6][7] Some players note the always-online requirement is a frustrating issue for a single-player game. [8][9]

I'm still absolutely pissed that I was sold a singular map for 7 dollars. The sapienza edition is one of the scummiest things I've ever seen, it was shown as the price for Hitman: WOA on the storefront, but is actually a singular level. IOI, this storefront is comically bad. It's probably holding back so many players–such as myself–from experiencing the game. The game itself is super fun as well. But I CANNOT …

Gamewise, it's wonderful. The way its been published... not so much. In the before times there was Hitman, Hitman 2 and Hitman 3. Then there was some strange mess where everything got shoved into several different editions and nobody knew what was what. People bought things that didn't activate anything. Then it became HITMAN World of Assassination, which was slightly less confusing, but still IOI decided to make …

Purchase "Hitman World of Assassination" if you just want the Base games of Hitman 1,2, and 3. Purchase "Hitman World of Assassination: Deluxe Edition" if you want the Base Games AND playable DLC. Now that the confusing way this game is sold is explained, I can review the game. These are extremely fun level based assassination games which highly encourages replayability. The story is ok, and enjoyable enough if you …

I've put 30 hours into Hitman 1, 40 hours into Hitman 2, and 140 hours into Hitman: WoA, which bundles the whole trilogy. And I'm still not getting tired of it. It's my comfort game. Hitman isn't a game you just play through once. Each of more than 20 missions gives you a huge sandbox filled with different assassination opportunities, side stories, and challenges. You can easily spend tens of hours in every single …

Worst purchasing method of any game I've ever encountered. But it's like one of the worlds best puzzle games where the puzzle is murder and if you ever get too frustrated you can just shoot all the jigsaw pieces in the head.
Summarised from 34 of the 397 public posts collected about this game; every point cites the posts behind it ([n] opens the post) and the split is counted from the posts’ own ratings. Updated Oct 11, 2026. How summaries are made
78% of the 289 Steam reviewers we collected recommend HITMAN World of Assassination. The complaint that keeps coming up: confusing and consumer-hostile purchasing structure. Deal-breaker or nitpick?
Critics, per Wikipedia
Hitman 3 received "generally favorable" reviews, according to review aggregator platform Metacritic. It has been considered by some critics to be the best entry in the series and one of the greatest stealth games of all time. The game was praised for its gameplay loop, creativity, and level design. It was the best-reviewed game in the series. Nick Statt from The Verge praised Hitman 3 for being a cohesive and accessible experience, stating that "IOI has meticulously crafted ways to teach even the most bumbling, haphazard players how to become Agent 47 in mind and body". He compared the game's levels to puzzles, writing that often invites players to understand its gameplay systems and…

Buy HITMAN 3 Access Pass: HITMAN 2 Expansion for €6,99, this gives you access to Haven Island, New York and the Sniper Maps. You can skip the rest, the deluxe edition is not really worth your money unless you've finished the game and want something new. Some of the celebrity dlc's are fun, but overpriced, only buy on sale.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The "Part One" system seems a like a way to lure in people who dont want to scroll down and read details. Until you realize that people who buy it basically play the game with ads. The same is true for people who bought one of the three games at full price, which is now more expensive than buying the entire trilogy (source: my playstation). Did I enjoy the game to the point of getting all the achievements? Yes. Stop giving me pop-ups to lazy DLC slop. The game critiques greedy capitalists at…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Have downloaded 80 gigs, and everything is locked, nice What was the problem just give me to download content for only one mission that is available? And who tf made this stupid naming for this game, where you need to read wiki to understand what content is available in each game version???
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →leaving a negative review purely because of the payment structure Genuinely what were you smoking IOI
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The pricing structure for this game is a consumer-hostile mess. $29.99 for the first 25% of the content, $39.99 to get another 35% of the content, $29.97 for another 20%, and the remaining 20% of the content being sold as individual DLCs totaling $67.87. All combined that is $167.82 worth of price gouging by IOI. This is not okay.

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I think it’s funny that after Luigi did his thing the media went wild about Among Us but no one ever touched on the fact that there is a game called “Hitman: World of Assassination”
neutral · AI labelView post →Don't buy part one, it doesn't have everything you want. I guarantee it. For ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game practices I am not recommending this, just be careful with your purchase.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →"Hitman is offline for maintenance" - IOI Go ♥♥♥♥ yourselves, it's a singleplayer game that you already removed multiplayer functionality from. Always install the Peacock project mod to restore PAID deleted content and offline functionality.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Hitman is a fantastic game, but holy hell does it make being a customer harder than it needs to be. The FOMO around Elusive Targets is ridiculous. Why are missions and rewards still tied to limited-time events in a mostly single-player game? If I paid for the game, just let me play the content when I want. Then there's the DLC situation. Some content has been delisted, other content is sold separately, and figuring out what actually comes with what feels like a research project. The fact that…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →IOI intentionally obfuscates the game's store page to confuse people into purchasing things they don't want. With the introduction of the Bruce Lee Pack, they have now evolved into selling "time-limited downloadable content." They have stated said the DLC may come back in the future. It's artificial scarcity to get people to purchase garbage they don't need.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →game's good but you need a masters degree to figure out how to buy the version of the game you want
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A really fun and well done Hitman game but buying the whole trilogy campaign is made unnecessarily complicated. First of all, DO NOT BUY "part one", that is at the top of the store page. That will only give you small part of the whole package which is not worth it. Buy World of Assassination. It is pricey but if you wait for Steam Sale you can get it for a very reasonable price, it includes all three games, but even then you don't have the full campaign, last two missions of Hitman 2 will…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game has the worst method of content distribution in existence. The menu is completely cluttered with things that you can't even play. I don't think anyone should contribute to this. As much as the game itself is enjoyable, I can't get myself to play it anymore, because any time I come back to it and see this atrociously self-serving UI, I am turned off immediately. Are you trying to confuse me into buying something? Is making the content I purchased difficult to access fun for you?…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →great game but you seriously need a spreadsheet to buy the fcking thing
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Games good but watch out for the greedy packs, I bought the "World of Assasination" game at full price before the sale and turns it it's literally just the first game, I need "to upgrade" to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ part 1?? Now I need to SPEND EVEN MORE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ MONEY ON A GAME I ALREADY BOUGHT TO JUST PLAY THE REST OF THE ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ GAME, just pure greed
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The biggest cons - 1. You require a PhD to purchase your preferred version of the game 2. The always online requirement in a single player game which locks most of the content and crashes your game when your internet is down completely sucks. This was the main issue I faced when playing the latest Patient Zero Reqiuem pack. However the biggest pro which is why I'll recommend this game - It is one of the best games in the franchise and of all time with tons and tons of content.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A DOLLHOUSE MADE FOR MANLY MEN. If you're confused about what to buy for this, here are instructions: 1. If you buy Part One you get access to all of Hitman 1 location levels, a total of six. 2. You have to upgrade your version to gain access to Hitman 2 and 3 location levels, a total of fifteen. You should buy the Deluxe Pack BUNDLE as it's usually the cheapest option. 3. You can only access the Freelancer Mode (the best part of the game) if you buy this pack. To save money you should…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →DO NOT BUY PART 1!! It means Hitman 1 ONLY! Nevermind that Hitman 2 included 1&2 in the normal game. I expect all 3 games in the standard edition, not requiring Deluxe.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game is great. Buying the whole game is the real assassination mission.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Why the ♥♥♥♥ is the game sold this way????? It's utterly ridiculous that you can buy the game in uneven increments like this and end up having to pay even more than if you bought it normally. Like, I thought buying just part one would give me some manner of price reduction in the future when I bought the full version but NOOOO it's so stupid! Literally feels like a waste of money if you're gonna buy it either go for the 90 dollar purchase or don't go for it at all. Update: You can still find…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Why do I not recommend, if I enjoy playing the game? 1) Predatory and intentionally misleading monetization, and FOMO exploitation by the developers. Whomever you want to blame for it has artificially gated content and enforced arbitrary time limits to get you to spend more and more money on the game, on top of intentionally obscuring and complicating the purchasing of the game in the first place. These business practices don't deserve your support, especially when considering the following…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game itself is excellent but the way they're selling the content is just a scam. It's intentionally confusing and intransparent to make you pay for content you either already have access to or to make you pay for content you aren't gonna recieve. The deluxe edition is the entire game anything else is just incomplete. If you're planning on actually buying this game regardless since the content is actually fire as always then buy it somewhere else even if you just buy the key. That steam…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Worst sales practices in the industry. I like Hitman, I 100%d the first of the reboot franchise, I was looking forward to picking up Hitman 3, and trying Hitman 2's levels. I saw it on discount: "Part 1", well, it's not all the bonus content, whatever, I'll grab it, and maybe I'll have to purchase the Hitman 2 levels. I click over to the Hitman 2 section. $50 bucks. A bit steep for the content, but ok. Maybe I'll just try the first level of Hitman 3. Wait. "Get Access" link to store page.…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Purchasing this game used to be a difficult process and was hard to understand which options gave you what content. It is no longer a difficult process and here is why. If you are on the fence about this great game, download the Free content. Play all available free content that you can. If you decide it is not for you, then no biggie at least now you know. If you decide that you like the game, buy the deluxe edition. So there are only 2 options now. Do not buy the game or buy…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is brilliant. Especially on sale, the bang for your buck in this title is well above average. I'm a big stealth game guy, and Hitman really separates itself from the pack in this genre. The map design, gameplay options, and general vibe of the game are unique and interesting. 9/10, You Should Play It. I enjoyed my time so much I'm actually listing the cons first. CONS: - Always online bullenscheisse that doesn't even stop cheaters from populating the leaderboards, not a fan. This…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →You know how gamers sometimes end up owning multiple copies of the same popular game across different platforms (looking at you, Skyrim and Fallout)? Well that’s exactly what happened to me with Hitman: World of Assassination. I have a physical copy of Hitman (2016) for PS4, deluxe physical edition digital of Hitman 2 for PS5 and now, as of writing this - Hitman WOA on Steam as well. Which brings me to my primary complaint with Hitman - the needly convoluted purchasing scheme that IO…

I don't mind Eminem or Snoop Dogg or whoever, but are you really this creatively bankrupt now? negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Game is fundamentally broken for AMD users. It has a frequent crashing issue which causes driver timeouts that has been ongoing for a while that IO I seems to not want to fix, I don't know if it's a "we don't care about a part of the player base" thing or what but it's inexcusable to have a crashing issue with no known fixes last this long. It's been attributed to the game not being able to handle high frame rates but no one knows the actual issue because a lot of people say they make it "more…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Great game but I cannot in good conscience give this a positive review given how absurd the pricing model is. I had to spend like 1-2 hours just trying to figure out how to buy this game and there's still $70 worth of DLC I need to get. If anyone stumbles upon this just buy the "HITMAN World of Assassination" and the "Deluxe Pack DLC" if you like the main game. DO NOT buy the "Part One" or the "Deluxe EDITION" as both are baits or scams. As far as the game itself goes, it's genuinely…
