Great game, but please, do not pay any money to Sony after they decided to pull the rug out from under PC players. You should play this game, great game, but find it for free. Paying money for this game is actually a bad idea unless Sony re-dedicates to PC releases.

Horizon Zero Dawn is one of the most creative and beautifully executed open-world games of the modern era. The game introduces a brilliant concept: a post-apocalyptic world where primitive human tribes coexist with majestic, terrifying, animalistic machines. Following Aloy's journey to uncover the secrets of the past is an unforgettable experience, backed by deep lore and incredibly tactical combat. 🟢 Pros …

80% of the 261 Steam reviewers we collected recommend Horizon Zero Dawn™ Complete Edition. The complaint that keeps coming up: repetitive side quests and map icons. Deal-breaker or nitpick?

Critics, per Wikipedia

Horizon Zero Dawn received "generally favourable" reception according to the review aggregator website Metacritic, while 94% of critics recommended the game according to OpenCritic. Critics generally agreed that it was visually impressive with a familiar gameplay design. The combat received generally positive reviews. Dan Silver from The Guardian described combat as "endurably exhilarating", and liked how each machine required different tactical approaches. Peter Brown from GameSpot found the machine design to be creative and liked how the game gradually introduced more complex variants as the player became more proficient in combat. Great game, but if you're in the Middle East, think twice before getting attached to the story. Sony removed the sequel of this game (Horizon Forbidden West) from MENA stores due to PlayStation Network (PSN) account linking policies and regional store locking. Which means players in MENA basically can't access the sequel. So you'll finish this, get invested in Aloy and the whole story, and then hit a wall when you try to continue it in Forbidden West.

I love this game. I played through the Remaster several times, then a few months later I went through the Complete Edition multiple times as well. After experiencing both, I can say the Remaster is the better version only because of its quality-of-life upgrades. The game itself never needed a Remaster in the first place, and after finishing the Complete Edition again, I feel even more confident saying that. What I wrote in my earlier review still stands. The setting reminds me of the early…

Hi! You know, I still haven't finished this game after 100 hours. I know there's probably a weak plot here, and I'm not very interested in the people's story. If there were no one else in this world except Aloy, I'd probably keep playing. I enjoy hunting with a bow, riding (metal) horses, setting ambushes, sneaking around, scavenging and trading, exploring the world and old technology, quietly performing attacks, and simply enjoying the beauty. I guess this game is perfect for relaxing. There…

I liked the combat quite a bit, but after all the side quests and main story, I mostly rushed through the DLC content and couldn't bring myself to go for a NG+ playthrough. Story was pretty cool, but I can't say I liked many of the characters. The game has so much side stuff to do you can barely see the world map passed the icons, but that's both a pro and con because, yes, just walking in a line will find you something to do almost immediately, the vast majority of things will ask you to…

There are so many good things and a few bad things but overall would recommend this to people who like FarCry style games, killing baddies, taking over territories etc. The voice acting was superb in this game, the writing for the main story was also fantastic. Honestly I wouldn't buy this game full price, the graphics and the scenery are beautiful, it has some interesting mechanics, but the gameplay gets repetitive even at the beginning and the side quests are boring. It feels like they wanted to make a very big map, but it has nothing special in it, so they just threw a bunch of collectibles and boring missions.

This game (and series as a whole) definitely has a reputation of being behind the pack compared to other popular open-world RPGs made by other studios like CD PROJEKT RED, Bethesda, or FromSoftware. Most people agree that's it a good game but people don't sing it's praises as much. I'll get the strongest aspect of the game out of the way: its gameplay. The story is incredibly boring. I lost interest and started yawning within the first four hours, and after that, I had to practically fight myself just to keep playing. Things get a little more interesting toward the endgame, but even then, the story simply dumps all the answers on you in a rather brainless way. Horizon Zero Dawn – 94/100 I find it fascinating that a game announced over a decade ago is slowly starting to mirror the direction the real world seems to be heading. The idea of an AI-driven dystopia has always been compelling to me, and Horizon Zero Dawn was one of the first games that made that concept feel grounded and believable rather than exaggerated sci-fi. This is probably one of my all time favorite games. The lore, voice acting, art, and gameplay just fit together. The climbing does have yellow pain, but that's being really nitpicky as it's from that generation of games which all did that. I played this first on the Playstation, then bought it for Steam and replayed it a few times. It's one of those comfort games where the New Game+ allows you to breeze through some more difficult sections or raise the difficulty and feel the challenge…

Game is addictive to me. There are a lot of tasks and whatnot to complete and I really enjoy hunting the machines. The story starts strong but isn't mind blowing. I think it's a decent game that's aged well enough so far. I will say, all the interpersonal narrative stuff Aloy does in game is annoying in a very short amount of time.

Overall, a really well-made game. I have nothing to criticise it for objectively. There are a lot of weapons and a lot of ways to fight the machines, using the environment and such. You have to strategise which weapon combo will be the most effective for the encounter and it makes the game interesting. (Imo, sometimes all this variety is overwhelming and I often forgot some details, which lead to frustration with some machines (Scorchers -_-), but I have no one to blame for that but myself…

Horizon: Filler Spawn A solid game, albeit not perfect. The game world and its backstory are well crafted, beautiful, and immersive. The creature design is bad ass, and so are some of the characters. Others a bit less. The game inserts a LOT of filler and repeated content though to artificially increase duration. I can't stomach these endless hunting challenges. The shop, crafting and inventory management systems are tedious, but at least the weapon variety is good. I tried to stick around…

Would've liked it better if there weren't so many she man leaders. In all times throughout history, a woman leader has always, always ended in disaster and cursed by God. Men lead, women follow. When times are hard and rough, its not the women that pick up the shovel and move crap, its the men. Im so tired of these dike girl boss story's. I like the gameplay and the story, to an extent, but its a little too heavy on the liberal side for my taste. And they could've made aloy better looking…

Total: 5½/10. Graphics: 9/10, really pretty. Story: 8/10, large parts are deep and engaging. Gameplay: 7/10, fun action ... though a bit too console'ish, simple and repetitive, with lot´s of HUD items, sticky handholds etc. and only one right way to negotiate each area. Entirely too many little bugs: Dialogue options only greying out correctly 90% of the time, wrong sound bites playing every now and again, wrong spear showing in cutscene etc. -½ to total score. Woke propaganda gets pushed in…

This is a beautiful game with boring questlines, poor design choices and uninteresting combat. I can remember the hype this game had when it came out, a hype that I am glad I didn't buy into.

Horizon Zero Dawn is an artistically beautiful game overshadowed by terrible design choices, boring side quests, chore-like tasks, braindead basic combat, a big, flat open world and a non-existent narrative. I've really tried to enjoy this game but after 10 hours of doing exactly the same thing I just couldn't continue. This is one of the few games I've played that genuinely made me sleepy because of how boring it is. The first hours of the game are great: you get explained that Aloy is an…

Great gameplay and interesting world-building, though the characters feel emotionally flat most of the times.

No point getting into this franchise after how woke it went. This entry was pretty epic back in the day. Still looks pretty good by modern standards. Gameplay is pretty good and it's a lot of fun exploring the map, doing challenges etc. Just, don't go into it expecting the same level of awesome from the rest of the series. Okay? Never actually finished this btw... Just never held my attention long enough. Restarted too many times. Maybe I'll finish it one day but I just can't play it any more…
