Critics and audiences were confused, the cast protested to no avail. #TheNoirCollective

negative · AI labelView post →EXTREMELY EXTREMELY funny and ironic for people to accuse Agnieszka Smoczyńska’s Hot Spot of being “AI Slop without the AI” when the movie IS ABOUT ai becoming so heavily intergrated into our lives it becomes inseparable from anything human, so much so if you try to disconnect, your head explodes

neutral · AI labelView post →Chicago - THE HOT SPOT. Reeeeeeeeally fun movie.
positive · AI labelView post →The Hot Spot (90). Dennis Hopper’s hot, dusty neo-noir is a key film in the film soleil cannon; those late 80s to mid 90s films that put noir tropes and sexual desperation in dead-end towns where everyone drank to forget. From Red Rock West to U-Turn, no-one escaped the sun; this is a great example.

positive · AI labelView post →#HotSpot was very bad, alas. It starts promising enough as a campy B-movie, but it gets slow, rambling and incoherent very fast, trying to be deep but ending up nowhere.
