What players are saying
Counted from the reviewers’ own thumbs up/down on the 150 English Steam reviews we collected, not by the AI. Valve’s all-language rating: Mostly Positive (252 of 351 positive).
Players appreciate the game's atmosphere and story, especially in VR. [1][2][3] Some find the stealth gameplay basic and the controls frustrating without VR controller support. [4][5][6] Many recommend buying on sale due to short length and limited replay value. [7][8][9]

Let me start off by saying the gameplay sucks and I mean it. Firstly, you got the terrible controls, for some reason the in-game sens can't be catered to my liking so it's either too low or too high. Then you got the whole premise of being sneaky and trying not to get spotted by the intruders, it sounds good on paper but it's not fun in reality. All you do in this game is crouch, you don't even need to hide inside …

TL;DR Save yourself 20 bones and watch a playthrough Intruders Hide n Seek: Intruders: Hide and Seek is an absolute mess. Going into this game I wasn't aware this is a PSVR title, but finding out after the fact, all my gripes are fully justified and valid. That's not to say all PSVR titles are garbo, I'm sure there are a handful of them out there that are decent, but Intruders Hide and Seek is not. Pros: THE VA was …

Great atmospheric game! It doesn't have tracked motion controller support, but for what it sets out to be, it doesn't really need it. The Steam controller integration is flawless. You play a little boy who goes with his family on a vacation to their secluded, large holiday home. Everything is scaled up, to make you really feel small, which works great. When night falls, you start sneaking out of your room, and scary …

Had this on my wishlist for a while now and finally bought it when it was on 90% sale. This game takes around 3 hours to complete and fairly easy to get 100% achievements done in one run -or easy to pick collectibles up after completing the game in the chapter section! I enjoyed the hide and seek gameplay. The story was interesting and I can imagine that this game must be ten times more fun in VR -but still works …

Experienced on the Meta Quest 2. VR only, Spoiler-Free Review! You can view my review & gameplay here: https://youtu.be/GlDFMFU-TMs This is a narrative-driven game with some stealth sections. It took me a little under 3 hours to get the end credits. While I did enjoy the narrative, the core stealth gameplay loop was simply too basic. It was just a matter of picking the correct route through trial & error, along with …

neutral · AI labelView post →Played this as a standard game (without VR) and found it to bit a bit more basic and underwhelming than I was hoping for. Graphics and story were just ok, voice acting isn't fantastic, scare level is maybe a 2/10. I don't want to knock the game too much because I enjoyed the premise and it might be a very good VR game, but if you're playing this as a plain PC game then I'd definitely wait for a sale. Play time: 4hrs for 100% completion 6.5/10
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This games graphics are amazing from screenshots and the games internal idea itself is amazing, but as soon as I loaded the game I was let down by a major game changer... there isn't any VR controller support! While this is still a new release, I give it respect where it's at right now. However VR controller support would have been awesome...

So there is a plenty of time at first to familiarise oneself with the house layout which is gonna come in handy later. The atmosphere is calm at the beginning however, it gets intriguing as we discover secrets everything became more and more complicated than I thought. The ending however was kinda disappointing for me. Game mechanics Gameplay…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Playing hide and seek just got scary! I already played through this game on PlayStation VR and now that I have a new gaming PC and a Rift S, I got it again. For me personally it's not too exciting, as the Steam version seems to be pretty much identical to the PSVR one. But for people who have not heard of this game, it's definitely worth playing! One thing which I found especially intriguing is that you play a kid, and so the world scale is different from being a grown-up. An interesting…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Bought the game for 18euros on a promo deal. Playing on a Steam Index VR kit 1. Does not play NON-VR... launches VR anyway 2. Does not accept Steam index controllers, so you won't be able to move around. 3. no support from the devs since they are not working on it anymore. All issues needs to be sent to the publishers who also aren't working on this game. Can't refund because I bought it 6months ago.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I am sure the game would be fun, but the controls are just bad. I tried playing with a Valve Index using my keyboard and mouse (because no VR controls are supported), and I don't have a controller. So playing with a mouse and keyboard was awful, and probably unsupported because there is 0 explanation what button to press. Therefore I stuck in the garage scene, right after finding the flashlight. At least make keyboard control supported...
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This game is awesome! Some parts are definitely challenging to figure out but I haven't had this much fun in a long time. My type of stealth and a solid story. Also, those save points are not easy to get to which I love. Little tip - don't rush through the tutorial like I did and REALLY pay attention to the house layout (even though you will have a map it will help immensely). Big thumbs up!

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Mechanically speaking, assembling a horror game is easy. Get an intricate level layout, add menacing roaming enemies, a healthy dose of scary ambient music, and dim lighting, and you have a standard horror game. Intruders: Hide and Seek doesn’t deviate from that formula overmuch, but it’s the presentation and attention to detail that make a game interesting, and here we have that in spades. You’re not a driven engineer running away from aliens aboard a rusty ship, or a amnesiac-plagued noble…
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Intruders: Hide and Seek is a first person stealth game, where you playing as a kid and try to help your family, when intruders get into your house and you do everything without being caught. Graphically this game is not bad. For 2019, it looks mediocare, but it's nothing like on the screenshot. If it would look like that, I would say good, but it's not that. Somewhat animations is bit poor. Music and sounds feels poor too. There is lack of music, which is understandable, but when there is…

On VR you have to play seated with a controller i used a xbox360 controller, and it worked fine. There are parts where it can get a bit frustrating, but i learnt to pay a bit more attention, and not give the back to the enemies. Overall the game is well done. creepy atmosphere, i thought it has a good interesting story, very decent voice acting, and there really arent that many stealth…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →It's literally a hide-and-seek game. But gameplay is boring and stealth is miserable. Go from A to B, Go to A again, now - C. Character asks us to use his computer but doesn't give us a user password. Enemies faster than the protagonist and if they were close and noticed you, you'll never escape. Scripts everywhere - intruders patrol by written algorithm, and you can learn their patterns. VR mode doesn't work properly. It crashes or has no sound. Even if you managed to run it, you act with…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Immediately the game warns you that it's recommended to play this with a controller: I don't have one. I didn't think this would be an issue however I quickly found that the controls are completely counter intuitive plus some of the inputs displayed on screen are incorrect. Normally this type of thing is just an oversight however, there isn't even key binding. At first I didn't mind the character models however with the script being so poorly written with a plot set up that's overwhelmingly…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The devs proudly proclaim that this game runs in both standard and VR modes but they conveniently forgot to mention that they are so incompetent that they forgot to code all of the audio for standard mode so this game is ACTUALLY VR exclusive and their claim is a load of crap and according to an older review it also doesn't even work with the Oculus quest 2 apparently. So we have a game that kinda works for some people's VR headsets and only half functions for people without VR headsets making…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →I asked for a refund for this game because it's not worth buying even on sale. The set up and game play are very tedious. While I get that you're playing as a kid and wouldn't be as agile as an adult - it feels more like you're playing as a turtle. The game would be better if the default walking speed felt normal with the options to slow down to reduce noise or to speed up a bit with the penalty of increase noise. An intruder barely saw me peek out from behind a door and I had to start over.…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →it gets off to a slow start but it isn't really as scary as i thought it would be where darkness lies was wayyyyyyy scarier; It was very thoughtful for the developer to take my review into consideration. I tried the game again at the developer's request even with the discount I just didn't find the game that engaging. I would compare it to Paranormal Activity. Perhaps it just takes a lot to scare me lol

neutral · AI labelView post →I'm going to start this review out with the most important part first... Buy this at full price? Absolutely not in my book. This took me just under 3 hours to complete. Buy this on a discount (which I did)? Maybe. In Intruders you star as a male Kristen Stewart that's not about to hide in a panic room while your dad gets a downtown ass-whipping and your mom cries at the hands of 3 crazed kidnappers. No, you're going to save the day and not take any crap. End of story. I didn't hate…
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Not worth the price. It's a decent horror game to play on your own but it can still be really repetitive and annoying. 1. Go to the other side of the house. 2. Get caught, die, and respawn all the way back after 10 seconds of painful loading. 3. Repeat 7 times. 4. Complete mission and get new mission that is the exact same. (Repeat everything) 5. ??? As a content creator, it was difficult to make content on this, especially because there was so much talking, but also because of how repetitive…

The game is plagued with endless bugs, instability, crashes and controller problems. Many gamers are lucky if they can get the game to run for more than 1-2 minutes. "Intruders: Hide and Seek" is a broken console ported VR centric hide and seek horror/jumpscare first person adventure game. Now, that can be a recipe for great success, but the developers of this train wreck…

Great style/graphics, wonderful environment to explore, challenging stealth/enemies and a good story too. I'd certainly recommend this one.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Can't play this on my oculus quest. It gets to a screen where you start the game and have to hit 'a' to continue. Quest controllers don't work, ps4 controller doesn't work. bummer.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →A really fun game, and definitively played for the story. The art is beautiful, and I think the character models add to the eeriness of the game. It was definitively scary in a different way, and it was short enough to not get repetitive. Worth to get if you are looking for a horror game even people who hate horror games can get through. I would agree with a lot of the comments that it is not worth buying full price, I got it at 90% on Humble Bundle and that was absolutely more than worth it.
positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →Could be much better. Very soon you find out the best way of moving through the house, and it's always the same way. So you never make the experience to see the whole area. It took me less than 3 h to complete the game. The story had a good twist, but I don't want to play it again or would like to see a pre- or sequel. For less than 5 bucks it might be ok, but not for a full price.

I have tried SO MANY TIMES to hide (cause of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ achievement) but I never get the heartbeat trigger. ALWAYS instantly found no matter what. So honestly, don't get this game unless you want to constantly have to replay the same part of the game over and over again I'd say, wait for a sale if you truly want to try it.
negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →This was a interesting game for me, because it wasn't quite what I had expected. It's a kind of game I had never imagined before: a narrative stealth game. I first heard about it from a FastLawyer review: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GlDFMFU-TMs Stealth gameplay As with a game I played and reviewed recently, Eternal Threads, this interactive experience is more about the story than the gameplay. "Intruders" has gameplay in the form of navigating the house without getting caught, but it's…

positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game does not support ultrawide 21:9 resolutions. It will let you select them from the menu but it cuts off the top and bottom of the game and it kills the field of view. Thought it wasn't a big deal at first so I switched to a 16:9 resolution except it then stretched to the edges which ruined the aspect ratio which is something I can't accept. It isn't a big and popular game so there weren't any fixes for this that I could find with a cursory internet search. Only way to play it then was…

negative · reviewer's own thumbsView post →The game its self is really great, but due to the fact it only works worth controllers, I found myself getting extremely sick constantly, making the game unplayable. I’m sure this doesn’t apply to everyone but it’s still a shame as the game itself seems amazing. Couldn’t get this working non-VR either so if anybody knows how to play non-VR, fell free to comment.

The controls with the keyboard sucks, especially in the main menu. The controls are designed for a controller. But I don't have a controller and I don't like playing with one, so I had to stick with m&k. Still it's playable like this. Honestly this is just a mediocre/somewhat good stealth game. positive · reviewer's own thumbsView post →While around 4 hours short, i think im overall happy with the game. Voice acting is great, graphics are service-able and the story is interesting enough to keep me going. The only downsides are that the game kinda turns into "running into a brick wall" simulator where every new mission will be met with a new roadblock that you have to solve to get to the next roadblock. Also, the game loses its scare factor fairly quickly and is more about stealth than horror. But, once i started seeing the…

By far not as scary as either, but similar game mechanics, controls, movement and atmosphere. You can tell that the devs were influenced by at least one of these games.
